I see the rigidity and formability of the plate as more of a pro than a con. Especially the moldyness of the plate. An armor plate that instantly conforms to the shape of your body is an advantage if you're in a public place and you want to wear ballistic panels to protect yourself but don't want anyone to notice your wearing any body armor. Now that there's way more firearms than people in the United States and there's always stray bullets farting all over the place in movie theaters, schools, grocery stores, churches, etc., it might be a good idea to consider some defense gear disguised or concealed as everyday civilian wear. The only problem I see with this idea is that while making flexible armor for pistols seems easy enough, making flexible armor to save your life from rifles is where things will get difficult. And since mass shootings involving AR-15's is becoming more common we may need to start coming up with a DIY solution for flexible rifle rated armor sooner rather than later. Other than that, I think you did a great job. Keep up the good work! 👍
Hi from the UK . With the car breakers yards full of wrecks with blown airbags , how about trying the ballistic nylon airbag material which is designed to restrict metal and plastic parts from the detonation ? I would imagine the yard operators would pay you to take them away and would be a great environmental benefit too . Maybe alternate layers of kevlar and ballistic nylon ?
Interesting, I do have a video on ballistic nylon; However its probably not the same as the airbags. Ill have to visit a junkyard and have a look. Also thanks for the comment!
@@Armor-Innovations Air bag stuff has a slightly more open weave than typical ballistic nylons like Cordura and better suited for lay ups . Usually comes in " baby blue " colour. Good luck with your projects
