Best video to save your LIPO battery, it saved my batteries in minutes!!! I forgot 4 cells in my truck for a few weeks and outside temp went below 0C several times. All cells were reporting "Low Voltage". I did this trick on 2 2s and 2 3s. I did what this guy said but actually went even safer. Here is how it went: I plugged a 3s battery, set the charger to NIMH 0.1 AMP change. I charged it for 1 minute up to 9.5V, 1 minute folks that is all it took... I stopped the charge, pluged in the balanced wire and start lipo charged successfully! Saved the battery! My 2nd cell would not charge at .1 amp. I put the charger on 1 amp NIMH and restored the voltage to 9V in 1.5 minute. Changed setting to LIPO et Voila!!! the 2 2s cells that were dead are older cells, several years of age. I charged them up to 6V in 3 minutes on NIMH 1AMP and then changed setting to LIPO balanced et Voila!!! Thanks!
Francois, this worked for me too! As a noob to RC Flying, I was thinking that I'd need new liposuction, when they wouldn't charge after the winter furlough. Top tip!
Had a 3s lipo (11.1v) had 3 0.00V readings and 3 2.xxV readings. Put it on NiMH @ 0.5A (Battery charge rate is 1.3A) for 5 minutes and watched the voltage climb from around 9 to 10.80. After it reached 10.80, I flipped it back to lipo mode and wallah it worked! Thank you! Liked!
Awesome! Worked for me! Thanks a lot. Did some minor changes: Had a 4cell 1300mAh battery, with the following cell voltages: #1@0.888V #2@3.931V #3@3.932V #4@3.933V Connected them as explained in the vid. Charged at 0.5A for 3min-ish. Cell #1 had then risen to 2.524V, (#3,4,5 was more or less the same). That allowed me to start charging it using a regular LiPo program.
I was so terrified to do this, but it did actually bring one of my old Li-Po's back to life. I'd make sure to have a bucket of sand nearby when doing this, since I've been told it's the best way to reduce the damage caused by a Li-Ion/Li-Po going into thermal runaway.
THANK YOU!! I was having so many issues, for what reason I have no idea. 3S 5200MAH 11.1 V had a reading of less than 2V. I put it on nimh 1A for approximately 5 minutes, jumped the voltage to 8.4ishV, and the lipo charging mode recognized the battery and began charging!!
I would like to add please keep an eye on your cells while doing this. I’m pretty sure he recommends this. I was attempting to revive a hard shell lipo and it popped. No fire but it did blow the case off from expansion. The cell was VERY old just use caution!!!
Awesome. I was skeptical about charging on a different mode. I literally only had to do it for like 2 seconds on 0.8a, and it fixed the low voltage problem. Now charging like normal on lipo mode. Thanks!
I subscribed. It worked for me . My one cell was dropped to 2.60v . I thought my venom 3s 5000mah battery has end up. But no after doing by instructions given in video . It became alive .
Worked pefectly, doing this got my 11.1v lipo charged from 8.4 volts to 10.1 volts in under a minute and then i was able to charge normally with the lipo setting. THANK YOU
Works!! I have a 11.4V, 2200 mah battery and I charged it for 10 min on the Nimh and then went back to the Lipo settings and it worked perfectly. Thanks!!
My man! Thanks buddy, it worked for mine as well! I charged for 3 minutes on NiMH at .01Amp up to 5.10 volts. Then switched it back to LiPo and it seems to be charging normal!
After I forgot to switch off my RC Crawler because their was a problem with one of my kids I came back and saw that I left the car without switching it off. It also had the problem that I couldn't charge it anymore luckily i did the same as you told me and the battery is saved thank zou very much .
Awesome information, thanks for sharing. It worked fine and you just saved me about $20 bucks!!! I used this on my 4s battery (for a racer) that spent a couple of nights in the woods with the battery connected and was able to recover it! Happy flying bro!!!
Didn't work for me at first because I was doing it wrong. Watched closer and made sure not to connect the balancing wire when doing the nimh charging. Worked like a charm. Took me about 5 minutes or so to get to 9.6v on 3s 5200mah batteries and then switched to lipo and voila!
Thanks, it worked. 1 minute was enough to get rid of "low voltage" error on my Eco Six charger. Not sure if the battery would still work, but at least it's charging now...
Thank you so much. It works for my 6S lipo. Had to charge it in Nicd mode at 5 amp for about 6 mins til it reaches 21v then switch to lipo mode and works beautifully. Was about to toss this expensive battery away. It's pretty understandable that all batteries if not use often will degrade and that's what happened. Same thing with a car battery. Park your vehicle for a few weeks you may not be able to start it.
So awesome! I left my brand new 2s 2200mAh battery plugged in and on. Tried to charge it today and it got the low voltage warning. Tried this fix at 1amp and brought it up to 6.9 volts then tried it on lipo balance and it works! Thanks!
Worked for me. I did same trick with 18650 pack what I made myself. Problem was that batteries were discharged and showed only 0.05 V. After providing some juice (roughly 10 min in NiMH with no balance) my charger start sensing them and then was able to properly balance charge them. Thank You!
Awesome it worked. I left my battery connected to the drone on accident, drained it too low. Setting to NiMH charge brought it back to 13v then I was able to lipo balance charge as normal. Thanks!
Thanks man, for all of you who are wondering it doesn't just work on that specific charger, it works on them all. Thanks man from me freaking out and buying a new chsrger
Holly cheese wheel that works. i was trying everything. i either got "Lower voltage" alarm or "incorrect cell count" errors when trying different modes. when i tried auto detect cell count mode it said 3 fine with just the balance lead, but when i connected just the negative or positive of outputs together it went to 2cell. EDIT: its charged a bit but im still getting the same problem...
That way only works if your charger does not require balance plug input otherwise it will have a plug connection warning and will not charge without the balance plug connected
Saved me from having to return a goldbat 100c 3s I just got. Strange that it did this after one run so I'll be keeping an eye on it. Great trick for saving lipos, thank you!
Definitely works! Went to charge my battery this afternoon and the charger spat out the low voltage warning - then I tried this. Battery went from 3 volt to 7.42 volts. I shut it down and switched to LiPO and no warning. Thank you
This actually worked!:) i depleted one cell of my 3S battery when i had my drone hooked up to betaflight and was testing engines. Apparently in this mode only one cell was used and was not recognized after in charger....btw it was battery that i bought like two days ago and since im noob i didnt know. I said my goodbyes to it but i found this..after 7min in LiNM mode i got voltage error and just like magic LiPo was found with enough voltage to get balance charged:) what a day. :)
To add, i was charging it on concrete on balcony in a ceramic empty pot and had sand ready just in case. I sat next to it and controlled temperature every 20 secs
Awesome! I have a power hobby 4000 MAH 2 cell Lipo and this saved it! Turns out running the batteries in a traxxas spartan speed boat really does damage to the lipos
Good video. Looks like it worked for a lot of people based on the comments. I'm going to try it on my batteries but one question...should I connect the white balance plug while it's charging? I see you didn't connect it in your video. Thanks
Worked a treat! Cheers I found I only needed to charge for about 30-40seconds to get it to voltage. People without heat-sensors needed to be super aware
Yo, this works for lithium ions too flawlessly. It did get warm just a little bit but a lot quicker than on the normal charge settings so definitely watch it. But thank you so freaking much dude!🎉🎉🎉
Worked like a charm for my 6S 3300mAh LiPo. I NiMh charged it to 19V (max 22v), then changed program to LiPo. Then the charging continued while showing one cell with a lower volage than the rest. Hitec X4 Eighty
Dude thank you so much you help me out on a 4slipo that costing me $80 you are a lifesaver I'm glad you're here and I glad you help me out thumbs up and subscribe from me

Omg this actually worked i left my 3s 11.1 volt in my axial and forgot for like months and decided to play with it couldn't even get it to get pass the error now its balance nicely tha ks man
It works Awesome!! But i have a quick question im charging 1250mah battery, so does that mean capacity indicator on charger should be around 1250, too? Or should i just wait until it says it's full

OMG you just saved me and my sons RC life. ♥ THX

BOTH OFF YOU MADE MY DAY, i thought i lost this lipo but luckily not
Even after 8 years. This video is so helpful. Thank you so much.
Thanks I also get back here whenever I encounter my lipo error voltage problem! 😁
Awesome! Worked for me! Thanks a lot. Did some minor changes:
Had a 4cell 1300mAh battery, with the following cell voltages:
#1@0.888V
#2@3.931V
#3@3.932V

I'll give this a try
My batteries are at
1.57
6.28
3.91
3.91
It just won’t balance out the 6.28 just keeps climbing and the rest don’t move
@@Frosty_fusionput it max Amps on NiMh and wait for 1 hour. Should be good after that
Just saved me $60-$80 from having to buy a new battery. YOU ROCK!
I was so terrified to do this, but it did actually bring one of my old Li-Po's back to life. I'd make sure to have a bucket of sand nearby when doing this, since I've been told it's the best way to reduce the damage caused by a Li-Ion/Li-Po going into thermal runaway.

I subscribed. It worked for me . My one cell was dropped to 2.60v .
I thought my venom 3s 5000mah battery has end up. But no after doing by instructions given in video . It became alive .
Superb recovered a bunch of old batteries.. Even at 0.2a till it got to 6v then stopped and balanced charged with no issues! Brilliant!

Thought my son lost his lipo for good.. Just tried this and was able to recover it!!! Thanks so much.. very helpful buddy!!!
Very welcome
I just tried this on one of my "dead" LiPos. Charged it as a NiMH at .5 amps for 20 minutes. Fixed it perfectly. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
After I forgot to switch off my RC Crawler because their was a problem with one of my kids I came back and saw that I left the car without switching it off. It also had the problem that I couldn't charge it anymore luckily i did the same as you told me and the battery is saved thank zou very much .

Awesome. Saved my battery.
I have a 4s 720mah that went low voltage.
Charged with 0.2A until it hit 13V them went back to the lipo balance.
Worked!!
A long search before I found your video and now I have everything working perfectly. Thanks!

Thank you very much for this! I forgot to unplug my Lipo last night and it drained my battery now with this technique I was able to restore it.
So awesome! I left my brand new 2s 2200mAh battery plugged in and on. Tried to charge it today and it got the low voltage warning. Tried this fix at 1amp and brought it up to 6.9 volts then tried it on lipo balance and it works! Thanks!

It worked! So, as other have said, just charging it for 3 min at 0.5a should do the trick. My battery is 11.1V 1200mAh 30C.
Awesome it worked. I left my battery connected to the drone on accident, drained it too low. Setting to NiMH charge brought it back to 13v then I was able to lipo balance charge as normal. Thanks!

THANK YOU
Took out the fire extinguisher 🧯 just in case, but this actually worked. It revived my Gens Ace 2200 3s lipo. I set it on 0.5 till it reached 9.0 v.

Hi Kev there's no need to connect the white balance plug during charing in NiMH mode. Hope this helps and good luck!
Worked a treat! Cheers

Saved a 2000mAh 2s by charging it back to 6.5 volts, thanks for the help!
Hey thanks. I've got brand new lipo's that I've never been able to charge. This works. 10min. And then they charge just fine.
Glad to be of help mate!
Worked like a charm! Thanks a million for the Low Volt error fix!
Glad to help
I did this for 30 seconds then switched to lipo and bam!!! It worked!!!!
Worked for me, thank u so much . Greetings from Poland
I appreciate your time with this video! It saved a very expensive battery thanks so much👍

Find which cell is the low one through the balance port of the battery, and charge as a single cell lipo with a receiver connector.

Just saved my SMC for after sitting for 9 months!! Thanks bud!!
Worked great, only left it on for 3 seconds and that got rid of the error. 3s 11.1v 4000mah lipo
I didn't try this but I stuck my battery on the cheep ones you get with cars sometimes for 10mins and then it worked again 😊
