    Great for outdoor use….you say?? Well I hope so, because that’s where these things are designed to be used 😂😂

      Well.. specifically this model does the job well to others that don't have the same energy conversion efficiency and portability 🤣

    So how long to charge a 12V dc battery?
    13.2 4500 mAh battery? -battery's for a ham radio, limited output on these battery's
    lifepo4 12Vdc 20.3AH battery? -carry around very small battery. not tested this battery yet, might just be too small. to run full power.
    I am looking for ways to power a ham radio go bag/box.
    if i were to only run QRP (low power cw) not a problem. but if i want/need to run more out, or lots of voice, I need lots of juice to work things.
    and yes this setup is only for out in the field, and MUST be easy to carry. some times many miles in... then out.
    ALL must fit into a small dedicated backpack.

      Learn if you don’t know it CW get a MTR3b or SW3B get a Bioenno 12ah operate all week. I do SOTA 300 plus activations since 2020 trust me this is easiest route to go!

    Problem is that these devices are generic rebrands. Seen the exact same unit with at least 3 different names for cheaper.

      At the time I bought this one, there were similar ones but not identical to this one. However, a lot can change in half a year. China is also the top producer of solar panels and power banks so I am sure there is a lot of similarities through copying and outright piracy. Not to mention, a few companies probably OEM to most brands. The good news is most Chinese models priced at the average "market" price will be serviceable.

    hi, not being very knowledgeable on these things do you think I'd be able to charge a 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 3 Pro with that type of solar panel? thanks in advance!

    • @urbanknifeguy
      @urbanknifeguy  9 месяцев назад +3

      I cannot be 100% sure but I don't think the issue is the ability to charge but rather how long it will take to charge. I suspect it will take many hours to charge 20000 mAh with good consistent light. But I will do a test in the near future.

    Is it waterproof?

    • @urbanknifeguy
      @urbanknifeguy  Год назад +1

      I would say water resistant but not waterproof. It is rated IPX4. An IPX4 water resistance rating means the device can face only light water splashes. It cannot be submerged. This means that IPX4 water resistance devices are not waterproof and should be removed before you start swimming. IPX4 water resistance devices can be used on rainy days or while washing hands.

    • @urbanknifeguy
      @urbanknifeguy  Год назад +1

      As in all panels must be open for a phone to charge? Yes I think you would need it fully opened to charge high capacity device. Ensure all your apps are closed when charging

      Exactly. To see if you have similar results for efficiency and power conversion in the same duration. Makes good sense to ensure its corroborative results. Thanks!
