Can you do the murder of Annette Mason?!? she is my cousin who was murdered in 1989 in Towoomba, her case is still unsolved and extremely unknown. I thought considering you're quite well known it would be good for someone to shine some light on the murder as it has been somewhat ignored over the years and is still a bit of a baffling mystery

How could the mother suspect a stalker, stop riding the bike, but still allow the daughter to go on her own. I know she was fully grown but still I'd be protective. I'm not a mother so maybe I'm wrong. No disrespect to the family.

as a mother even if i was scared i’d rather keep riding every day with my daughter just to make sure she’s safe, two is definitely better than one and she could’ve been there for her in time of need...
I typed this same thing up but didn’t post it. I’m a mother, and I wouldn’t be able to let any of my girls go alone if I was afraid of danger. I can picture their dad joining the bike rides, too, for added security.
I was thinking about that, too, but her mom of course told her don't go anymore, but her daughter will still go. I guess you can't really force her not to go, and mom just didn't want to go because she felt uncomfortable. Her daughter probably convinced her that everything is fine and mom probably thought that maybe she was paranoid, but she just didn't want to go still.

@@pinkfoxgloves That's true the mother can't control her grown daughter but if I were a mother and felt my daughter and I were being stalked on our bike rides, I wouldn't stop going on them if my daughter wanted to continue. I would still go with her to make sure she was okay.

Brian Cooney the mother wanted Tara to take pepper spray with her, she obviously didn’t want Tara to carry on going, especially alone but she was a grown woman who was fully capable of making her own choices, be that wise or unwise. Her mother probably lived with that regret every day for the rest of her life.

Brian Cooney She was in COLLEGE and this was the 80s. A parent can’t monitor her adult daughter every second of the day, and I’m sure Tara insisted because she was familiar with the route and thought nothing of it.
@@CL-fs3kt nopenopenope! A son or daughter of mine, if i had any apprehension or fear that someone was following us, I wouldn't have let them go alone. If they were stubborn and insisted on going, I'd go with them. Sorry, but that's called being a parent, whether your kid's 8 or 80.
Brian Cooney I don’t believe this was all one instance. I think Tara and Patty went together (one complete bike ride), then Patty told her not to go anymore following this instance. Of course you have to consider that Tara may have shrugged her mother’s advice off and said “yeah yeah I’m not going there” but still, continued to go. My point is that we can’t place culpability completely on the mother.

You should talk about the Australian man and his American girlfriend that were just murdered in British Columbia Canada. Its everywhere right now and it happened close to where I'm from. It happened on the highway or tears. 40+ people have gone missing here and that's why its nicknamed that, the highway is a main road right through my town. There was also a Male body found not far from the crime scene that they have been unable to identify. And there are 2 suspects on the run in Saskatchewan Canada right now:)

My heart goes out to Tara's mother who passed away without any closure... it's so devastating when you learn about these kinds of cold cases and how the families try everything in their power to find any clues yet many years later, there is nothing. I strongly believe this case has been tampered with due to the involvement of so many powerful figures in that town's law authority. I pray that Tara's case is still spoken about and one day we can know what happened to Tara.
I want to believe that now Tara's mom knows the answer after passing, and they were likely reunited 💞

What most people overlook are the case docs in the public record. I'm attempting to summarize them here and separate the wheat from the chaff since it's a lot of content and 'this person said this thing in an interview'.
Dying man Henry Brown requested an interview with Deputy Frank Methola that is detailed in the case docs (date not included, but I assume it had been many years after her disappearance). Brown stated that he hung out with some troublemaking teens, one of them Lawrence Romero Jr., son of the Sheriff Lawrence Romero Sr. LR Jr. dealt drugs and was also interested in Tara but she was dating another guy, Jeff Abeyta, who also happened to sell drugs.
Brown was partying with LR Jr. and his buddies at LR Jr.'s trailer, specifically the makeshift basement under it. Part of the party talk included LR Jr. and friends talking about how they hit Tara with their truck, then raped and killed her. They hid her body in bushes, and when the search intensified, moved her under a tarp in the makeshift basement and then later to a pond. A man named Donald Dutcher also came forward in late 2013 to say one of the suspects confessed to him.
The problem with the investigation? Well, first off, one of the prime suspects was the son of the Sheriff. Second of all, speculation that Deputy Sheriff (later Sheriff) Rene Rivera was a dirty cop who had their backs. Thirdly? All of the suspects are now deceased. LR Jr. either committed suicide or played a game of Russian Roulette (depending on who you ask) in 1991 and supposedly left a note confessing, which was not entered into evidence by Deputy Rivera. The docs are vague on who the other suspects are so I'm not going to name names (although there are plenty!).
tl;dr Most likely scenario: Tara was deliberately run over by some druggies, one of whom was the Sheriff's son, and all the suspects are deceased so no confessions will be forthcoming, although there is a rumoured suicide note that was covered up by the Deputy Sheriff.

Her mam must feel so guilty for not accompanying her daughter anymore because she thought they were being stalked, then her daughter disappears! You know, as a mam, you can tell your grown daughter not to do something and they're just going to think you're over-reacting, it's their nature-- to be fair, she probably should have kept going with her (safety in numbers), but she had no way of knowing what was going to happen... just hoping one day her family and friends will finally get closure and justice xxx

I lived about 30 min away from Tara. A document series was made about her this past year. It’s called Vanished: The Tara calico Story it’s on Facebook. It gives a ton of information about her disappearance. My grandpa saw her riding her bike before the disappearance. I’m not sure of when exactly. I believe it was covered up for sure and that they are keeping things hidden from the family and the public.
