This is a great assembly of talent and musicianship for any band, wether female or male. Having said that, I don't believe I have ever concentrated on any other guitar player's "Power Stance" as much as I did watching Midori's

    LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for brothers
    Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
    Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for sisters
    Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
    Facing the fate, holy war
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for brothers
    Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and for one forevermore
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
    Facing the fate, holy war

I'm glad that you liked it. Vocalist Asami speaks decent English I would say, but it can be a bit hard to understand her at first. You get used to her accent the more you listen to her though and it really depends on the song in question. These ladies are indeed very much inspired by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Helloween and other classic metal bands. Lovebites play a older style of metal and you're gonna love them if you are into shredding. These ladies are simply phenomenal.

Asami does speak English outside of singing, but she has a thick accent, which combined with her vibrato, can make it hard to understand her until you get used to it (her spoken English tends to be better than her singing English). Bassist Miho (which recently departed the band) and blonde guitarist Midori also speak English. Midori is probably tge best English speaker among them (I've had several conversations with her through Facebook, and she reads and writes English pretty fluently, also).

Ok, Andy did a little misdirection, but hey. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."
They are one of those rare bands that sound perfect live. Here are some you should definitely check out:
Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” ruclips.net/video/99zsH6iG_6c/видео.html and “Don’t Bite the Dust” ruclips.net/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/видео.html, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: ruclips.net/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/видео.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: ruclips.net/video/lXh_uMM94jU/видео.html.
Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: ruclips.net/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/видео.html; but if it is taken down, you can watch two clips back to back: ruclips.net/video/hDBjiQI9cyc/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/uEsEWISc8Q0/видео.html I promise, it’s worth it.
For a thrasher with heavy Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” ruclips.net/video/G021aP2ao6Y/видео.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ruclips.net/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/видео.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are three of the most spectacular:
    "When Destinies Align" ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html
    "Glory to the World" ruclips.net/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/видео.html
    "Winds of Transylvania" ruclips.net/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/видео.html.
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

LOVEBITES started working on their first EP at the end of 2016, joined by the amazing engineering team of Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila from Finland who are known for their work with NIGHTWISH, SABATON...(Finnvox Studios Helsinki) .
In the aftermath of the release of »Awakening From Abyss« in October 2017 through Europe ; Asami, Haruna, Midori, Miho and Miyako performed their first overseas live shows in London. On the heels of this success, in June 2018 the all-female band won the Best New Band award at the Golden Gods Awards held by the UK music magazine Metal Hammer, being the very first Japanese band to pull this off. LOVEBITES released their second mini album »Battle Against Damnation« that same month, taking it on the road with them to the world’s biggest metal festival Wacken Open Air in Germany, where they drove a crowd of over 10,000 people into frenzy before appearing on the main stage at the UK’s Bloodstock Open Air headlined by JUDAS PRIEST.

Ha, you got duped. Miho (bassist) put this band together in 2016. Her concept was basically that she wanted to start a band that played the kind of music she grew up on and loves the most, which is NWOBHM, especially Iron Maiden (her favourite band and her favourite bass player), European Power Metal (ie Helloween) and old school Thrash (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, etc). 80's metal. You can hear the Maiden influence in particular throughout their work, especially their earlier stuff. Not even remotely close to what Jinjer does. Killer band though. One of my two favourites in fact. There are Japanese bands who are similar to Jinjer, but this isn't one of them. As for Asami, she's not a fluent English speaker. They work with a woman named Nana Hatori (or did) who's Japanese but grew up in the U.S., so she makes sure the lyrics are all translated to proper English, but nobody in the band is fluent. Asami's accent is thick, but after a while you get used to it and the lyrics are easier to make out. I can't understand most of the bands I like because they sinig in languages I don't understand anyway, so I don't really care if I can't understand bands who actually sing in English, in fact sometimes I prefer it because so many lyrics are stupid and ruin the song for me. Lovebites have great lyrics though, so it's not the case with them. Anyway, glad you got duped, Lovebites are awesome.

Well if you liked the "harmonizing" wait till you check out some of the other Midori/Blond and Miyako/Dark hair picking, sweeping and tapping at insane speeds in perfect sync LIVE, they will leave you stunned. They are polar opposites Midori is the extrovert Flash/Shred Queen with the arena lighting smile who dropped out of Pharmacy school and gave up piano at 20 to learn the guitar. Miyako is the introvert Melodic Queen who is classical pianist since age 3 and picked up the guitar at 18 and self taught (wait to you hear her on the keys). All petite thus the white dresses and high heels to stand out and be seen easier on stage. Asami/vocals has a accent that is hard to follow the first time you hear her especially with her singing, she was a backup RnB/Jazz/Soul singer and an ex-ballerina student who never sang metal till she joined the band. While only 4' 10" she thunders out over the flawless music behind her and is a real Napoleon stage general who controls the crowd, the band and the concert. Haruna/drums at 4' 9" plays like this for the entire concert and never breaks a sweat, like many of the female J/Metal drummers she is a world class musician who is like a runaway mini nuke. The bass player Miho is the founder and this her dream and idea of what a metal should be. They blend '80 metal with old world masters and elevate in their Power, Speed, Thrash, Prog, Rock, Ballads and piano/metal songs (50+ in total since 2017). 1st all female Japanese band to appear at Wacken Open Air (2018) where they were so stunning Hammer later named them best new Metal band in 2018. They play a wide variety and drift between their influences even in the same song. Try these if you want more:
Thrash: Hammer of Wrath LIVE, Set the World on Fire LIVE, Break the Wall LIVE
Guitars Wars: Scream for Me LIVE, Signs of Deliverance LIVE
Piano/Metal: Swan Song with Piano etude (Chopin) LIVE, Empty Daydream LIVE
Each song is different and there is not one dud or filler in anything they do, they are relentless in the pursuit of perfection especially LIVE.

You aren't alone, because though Asami does speak English but has an accent. She did spend a couple years in the US. After listening to her singing you get used to it. When you do videos for any Japanese band, check for CC as it helps to understand better. Also search lyrics websites for the songs.
Think James Brown, the Godfather of soul.
Miyako's bends are so perfect and hit the right pitch. That's one of the toughest to do consistently for some people.
Haruna is the new Thunderstick because of her relentless style on the drums. Do you know who Thunderstick was?
Midori is such a shredder but she has the ability to shred with purpose.
Miho. She is the heart of the band.
This band is heavily influenced by late 70's early 80's metal.

The Goddesses of Metal! Not sure why the comparison to Jinjer. I hear no similarities in their music. Maybe because it’s a female singer?
But yes, Asami has a very thick accent. The more you listen though the more you start to understand her. These ladies are amazing and have 0 bad songs. 🤘🏻🐺

Japan. Where rock n metal moved to, cause things got boring in the USA
    All Female. Japanese.
    Try:
    Hanabie. We Love Sweets
    Nemophila. Dissension.
Lovebites. You'll get lots of suggestions.
    Aldious. We Are.
Mary's Blood. Marionette and Death Queens March.
    Doll$boxx. Take My Chance.
..and more bands( I'm old n can't remember every songs name)
And... And my humble and many others people's opinion the best hard rock band alive today is Band-Maid.
    From their 2-14-20 concert.
    Freedom. and. Domination.
Also...Play, Dice, Black hole... This is the band that Jimmy Page went backstage to, supposedly, personally meet their drummer whom he complimented cause she reminded him of John Bonham

Thanks for this reaction video. All 5 Lovebites women are masters. These Ladies write, compose and arrange their own songs. Almost 50 premium songs in 5 years and not a single weak song. Masters in live playing and geniuses in composing. The music industry and mainstream media have betrayed and abused rock and metal music for the last 20 years, so we fans need musicians like Lovebites to heal our wounds.

As others have mentioned Asami’s vocals do tend to take a little time to get used to with the accent and how she pronounces words but considering that English is a second language she does a pretty good job with it and it also depends on the individual song she has a way of modifying her voice to fit the song, but it’s still down to personal preferences for the listener in the end. This song is a great example of power metal but LOVEBITES also dives into the thrash metal too with songs like Break The Wall ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html also from the same concert as holy war witch has a Slayer vibe to it

All the musicians on this band is insane and world class talent.
Not a gimmick or fake. They effortless. Like the Goddesses.
That's great reaction by the way.
    Thank you very much.
I know you little bit a hard to understand the English lyrics of this song. Because Asami the singer have a strong Japanese accent.

I have to say the Lovebites-Jinjer comparison is kinda silly. (Jinjer is a awesome, but a different kinda awesome 😎) Sorry that you got pranked, but luckily it turned out good. If you like shredding however you have come to the right place. As others already commented these ladies play "good old" power metal, sometimes trash etc. Inspired by the 80's classics with a little twist of their own. They have killer guitar duels in almost everyone of their songs . So you can pick anything of their catalog 😃 Asami the singer speaks English, however she is hard to understand because of her accent. Based on a few English interviews I saw IMO her spoken English is better then singing which is understandable. As you probably know it's harder to sing then speak on a nother language. Edit: I wanted to link an interview (Q and A ) where they answered fan questions in English and Japanese but I think that video has been removed since.

The wolfpack is here. Asami, the singer, does sing in English but she does have a heavy accent. I love Lovebites, they always bring it hard. You should check out Break The Wall and M.D.O. I would never tell anyone if you like Jinger you will like Lovebites, Nemophila is more like Jinger. Check out their track called Dissension, that is more like modern metal with harsh vocals.

  • @jonasw3945
    @jonasw3945 3 года назад +4

This band is not bad, they do a lot of metal genres, the vocalist is generally what people dislike the most so if you don't mind her then you're gonna like the rest of what they do.
The instrumentalists are great and they can get very technical sometimes. The band is more of a heavy metal band (reminiscent of the new wave of british heavy metal in the 80s) even though they also do thrash metal and some slightly progressive music but they don't have a modern metal sound like Jinjer so I don't see the similarity or why people recommand this band under Jinjer videos.
They are cool though and they have a small (but very) passionate fanbase, you see them storming any video about this band

    • @garykeeling2275
      @garykeeling2275 3 года назад +4

I think it is mainly the fact that both bands have female singers. There is no similarity in style, but a lot of recommendations will use the fact that the reactor likes a band with a female singer to lead them to other female-led (or all female) bands like Lovebites. Nothing wrong with that. It gets them much-needed exposure, especially since Japanese labels tend to be terrible about not promoting their artists outside Japan.

    • @taz2491
      @taz2491 3 года назад +2

@@garykeeling2275 you have a point but this is a 2 edged sword. Making these comparisons then the listener expects a certain style which then turns out to be completely different. Maybe not the best start.
