- On May 14, 2006 I uploaded the first video clip of Barbara Dennerlein on RUclips. This was before Google acquired RUclips, and at that time the maximum resolution one could upload was only 360/240, there was also a small size limit, and a 10 minute time limit. Thus there was no way to upload the entire clip, so I made the decision to focus on Barbara’s 5 minute solo.
She was very well known in German speaking countries, but my goal was to increase her visibility worldwide. Ironically, I got the original clip on a DVD from a tape trader who lived in Argentina -- I suspect it was a third generation copy of a VHS cassette. Nevertheless, that very low quality clip got a million views in three years, and opened the flood gates of people sharing videos of Barbara Dennerlein.
Serious fans of Barbara will know that this song is actually “That’s Me.” The album before that was “Hot Stuff” and because I was trying to reach people unfamiliar with her, I thought, “well this solo is about as hot as it gets, and Hot Stuff will be more likely to attract viewers' attention,” so I gave it the title, “Very Hot Stuff.” Because this new clip contains everyone’s hot solo, I called this one “Extra Hot Stuff.”
This year I bought some video up-scaling software that uses A.I. to correct, enhance, and up-scale video. I was excited to be able to share with you this high quality version of the entire clip with these four fantastic musicians: Mitch Watkins on guitar, Andy Sheppard on tenor sax, and the incredible Dennis Chambers on drums.

Wow stuff. I have a CD here with you and Dennis Chambers which is great but doesn't show your bass pedal footwork which is so fast and you can't even see where your foot is going so, all credit to you, big time.

Looks like the director wanted to cut to the sketch artist, but Dennis was just too amazing to ignore , so he quickly went back ;-) Good catch on your part.
@@hans1970 The sketch artist footage doesn't follow the timeline of the performance and there's no need for it to do that, so the editing can insert the sketch footage anywhere. But the drum solo chops are obviously important to have the video synced to the audio. I'd say the reason was possibly some damage or dropout in the video occurred at that point so they did the best they could and inserted some other drum cam footage to cover it. This was truly a great performance and a great show, and the sketch artist in the audience was a definite increase in the cool factor. What year was this? Looks to me like late 90s to early 2000s?

At first I kept wondering why is her foot going wild when the bass player is playing his butt off….then I realized, there is no bass player!😮 Holy Cow!! I can imagine being exhausted as a audience member at the end of this performance from having so much fun!
