    Nice one. Next time you enjoy croissants or pains au chocolat, or any laminated pastry, try not to bite into them directly. Instead, tear off small pieces to eat. This way, you’ll fully appreciate their texture and flavour.

    Loved your complex description and analogy of the buttery fragrance of the croissant. You both are an adorable couple, if I may say so.

      Hello there, as we’re from a perpetually summer country…yes, 0 degrees is really cold for us 🥶. We were probably also underdressed 😂

    The pistachio colour from that escargot pastry at Du Pain et des Idees looks very artificially green. No wonder it is tasteless.

    The raisins are soaked in rum and then baked so there is just a hint of aroma. I have to say for Paris bakeries the croisant and pain au chocolat looked not good. You should have gotten it somewhere else 🙈👍. I love pistacio and get everything where it is in it 😆♥️.

      The second attempt to get a croissant and pain au chocolat was a success though. A Paris-Brest has normally a bottom and top made of Paté choux and the cream in between so it was a take on it. Loved the video and how you explore things. Take good care ✨

      Hello Katrin, thanks for dropping by our channel hehe 😁, we're glad you enjoyed our vlog! Hope to see you in our future vlogs! We upload every sunday 😉
      Thanks for the information on the escargot, we're guessing the middle of the escargot has some rum too as the flavour of rum intensifies near middle 😋. We love pistachio too & we'll be more than glad to try anything with pistachios on hahaha!
      Yes! The croissant from La Maison d'Isabelle was really, really good! Our pick for the best croissant based on the ones we've tried over our month long stay in Paris 😬.
      Once again welcome to our little community & hope you'll enjoy your stay with us!

    You should google pain aux raisins on RUclips and you will see that one stick of butter goes into making one raisin escargot pastry. I remember leaving this pastry on top of a newspaper and then the next day the fat soaked through the entire newspaper. It was so gross. I couldn’t eat it again

      That's called " pâte feuilletée " you cannot do it properly without butter

    So sad to see tomatoes in sandwiches during winter. Definitely not the season for good tomatoes

    • @TheGourmetPlate
      @TheGourmetPlate  2 года назад

      Aww...They still taste good though! Now this piques our interest to try tomatoes when they are in season 😋

    • @magiczouf
      @magiczouf 2 года назад +1

      @@TheGourmetPlate seasonal fresh local fruits and vegetables are always better.
      In winter most tomatoes come friom off-ground cultivation in greenhouses. Mostly from spain (with fertilizer).
      Open soil tomatoes are more expensive, but are fresh in summer. And way way more taste :)

      The dough of croissants needs butter otherwise that's not good at all. You just have to manage your envy of eating too much of them !
