  • "ALF" is an American television sitcom that aired from 1986 to 1990. The show was created by Paul Fusco, Tom Patchett, and Bernie Brillstein. ALF stands for Alien Life Form, and the series revolves around the misadventures of a sarcastic and wise-cracking alien named Gordon Shumway, nicknamed ALF, who crash-lands into the garage of the suburban Tanner family.
ALF is a puppet character created and performed by Paul Fusco, who also provided the character's voice. The Tanners, consisting of Willie (played by Max Wright), Kate (played by Anne Schedeen), their children Lynn (played by Andrea Elson) and Brian (played by Benji Gregory), and their cat Lucky, take ALF into their home and try to hide him from the authorities while helping him repair his spacecraft.
The show was known for its mix of family-friendly humor, ALF's irreverent antics, and social commentary. ALF's constant craving for cats and his disdain for the family's neighbor, Mr. Ochmonek, provided recurring comedic elements. Despite its popularity, "ALF" ended after four seasons, but it remains a beloved cult classic and has spawned various merchandise, spin-offs, and adaptations.
