I work in Taiwan before and i do really miss the taiwanese food, someday i want to come and visit again the Taiwan.I miss those sausage, the soy milk, the kua pao,the stinky Tofu and my Favorite, stinky Dried Bamboo shoot :-)
Thank nice pictures. I saw in the middle of the night. right Now to Taiwan even I want to leave right away. I was very hungry. I wanna know. Did you use what kind of the camera?
great video. what was the pancake looking thing that was spread with something that looked like chocolate and rolled or folded before giving to customer?
Where exactly is the stall of the sausage with basil located in Wushung market? Reviewed different night markets but the one with basil is unique here. Would appreciate your reply. Thanks!
Omg Aden...thx so much for posting these videos! I was in Taipei twice...and I loved it so much. Makes me miss this place 😭 Also, do you live in TW or was it just a vacation you did?
Traditionally we mix peanut powder and white sugar together , and using for mochi , ren bing ,a Taiwanese spring roll or koah-pau , the pork belly bun in the video .. But this time , they used crushed peanut , so sugar are used seprately.
Many street vendors slice the rice "sausage" length wise like a hotdog bun. When I first saw it I totally thought it was a sausage with a different colored sausage in it. I used to eat those a lot for lunch, I really miss them.
can someone tell me what the announcer is saying the whole time? also, the white sausage looked like scallops at first and I was about to rage how they sell them like its cheap crap :D
She was trying to get customers, basically asking "what size portion do you want?" The "white sausage" is actually made of sticky rice in shape of sausage
that knife she's using is not from dollar tree! it's hard forged and folded many times from a famous Taiwanese knife maker, it's as sharp as a razer and can cut through bones. I know because I bought one, you can get one from hong kong, ckk knifes, about $100 plus shipping

Not really, it's a natural process of many animals, with time many animals reduce the production of enzymes that process the lactose, aside this the cow is an animal that produces to much lactose for a human being. I myself am intolerant to lactose, as you see is normal, not a medical condition because we didn't evolve drinking milk from other animals during our adulthood (only swedes are capable of that as I understand) . Although I've heard Chinese people saying that they are in deed intolerant to lactose.
Chinese cooking uses pure fat, it tastes good but it is very unhealthy in Western cuisine, people use pure fat in other forms, aka butter in USA, there is a movement staying out of fatty content just because they eat too much
Butter is also fat as well, saturated fat, and in western cooking especially french cooking it is everywhere. To start with, the restaurant pretty much use half butter half vegetable oil in anything. Mash potato, chocolate, steak, any kind of rue based sauces including gravy, they are all butter filled. You don't see chinese cooking using fat that widely, at least they don't put an additional chunk of butter to finish their sauces or soup.
you are skinny because Asian don't have that much to eat and genetic can play important role in body composition American are fat people 50% obese because they eat too much, fat or no fat and metabolism play important role some people don't eat much but they are fat
I agree about that genetic is one of the factor...but "Asian don't have that much too eat" sounds strange. I stayed in USA and always stay around 70~75kg. After back to Taiwan, my weight became 85kg...I think it's lack of sports, and wrong choices for food are the main reasons.
Omg Aden...thx so much for posting these videos! I was in Taipei twice...and I loved it so much. Makes me miss this place 😭 Also, do you live in TW or was it just a vacation you did?
omy goodness, my mouth is drooling for the white rice made into sausage and the sausage itself.

I was wondering, what that light fat around "sausage" was, yeah, that Taiwanese sausage and basil looks delicious....
I work in Taiwan before and i do really miss the taiwanese food, someday i want to come and visit again the Taiwan.I miss those sausage, the soy milk, the kua pao,the stinky Tofu and my Favorite, stinky Dried Bamboo shoot :-)

What's the 2nd dish called? It looks like a pita sandwich.
Gua bao 刈包
Wow- what kind of meat the sausages are made from? Looks good- not sure if I can eat it without knowing what in the sausages.
Thats the risk you take eating sausage from any part of the world as long as it tastes good who cares whats in it.
It's pork.
if it was dog meat and it would taste good i will kill my own dog and eat it
killing a dog ? even abusing a dog is a crime in Taiwan .

What was that sugar like powder that was put on the pork belly bun? Please tell me it wasnt actual sugar. Also how can that bun be so white??
white sugar , then peanut powder.
It might be Patent Flour to make the bun white .
It's definitely not sugar since I've never heard of anyone eating it like that. Although I'm not quite sure what it is either.
Traditionally we mix peanut powder and white sugar together , and using for mochi , ren bing ,a Taiwanese spring roll or koah-pau , the pork belly bun in the video ..
But this time , they used crushed peanut , so sugar are used seprately.
Because it's steamed bun, not baked.
it's white sugar, I have that kind food maybe twice a month. It's a perfect match with the peanut powder
why in god's name have I never thought to combine basil and sausage.
Thai basil is the shit too!
Omg I miss eating those sticky rice sausage.
Is it just rice and seasoning? No meat? Also, what is used for casing?
+barelybrain pig fat
barelybrain yes, rice and a little salt. The casing is usually pork intestine.
Thanks for the info folks!! I find that so fascinating!! I'm willing to bet it's delicious too.
Its really delicious. Another way to eat is putting the sausage in the half-cut rice sausage just like hot dog.
who got hungry watching this?
yumy!minutul..1-5:57//
Damned those sausage looks good
Man......If your videos won't cure anorexia, I don't know what can!!

What's the lady on the loud speaker saying?
She's trying to recruit visitors to play the water ball game for some toys .
mamemi wawa shang sheng shu mamawe
what is that white thing that they are cutting? a potato?
Sticky rice sausage.
is it pudding??
Some sausages and some really good grinded white pudding or something is what i shouldn't miss? uh
what's that white sausage?
Sticky rice.
Many street vendors slice the rice "sausage" length wise like a hotdog bun. When I first saw it I totally thought it was a sausage with a different colored sausage in it. I used to eat those a lot for lunch, I really miss them.

She was trying to get customers, basically asking "what size portion do you want?"
The "white sausage" is actually made of sticky rice in shape of sausage
what are those white things look like sausage?
It's a sticky rice sausage. Basically sticky rice in the shape of a sausage grilled. The snack is called "Small sausage in large sausage".
"Small sausage in large sausage"
Isn't that also the name of a Kung Fu attack?
Lol no but the Chinese name is literally translated as "small intestine wrapped in large intestine"; and is sometimes used as slang for analXDD
Why does greasy food look so good.
really i ll die if i eat some thing there..
that knife she's using is not from dollar tree! it's hard forged and folded many times from a famous Taiwanese knife maker, it's as sharp as a razer and can cut through bones. I know because I bought one, you can get one from hong kong, ckk knifes, about $100 plus shipping

Go eat mcdonalds en kfc..
do Chinese people drink milk? weird.
because a lot of East Asian people are intolerant to lactose.
what crap , intolerant to lactose is a medical condition
Not really, it's a natural process of many animals, with time many animals reduce the production of enzymes that process the lactose, aside this the cow is an animal that produces to much lactose for a human being. funny but this is Taiwanese cooking, nothing gona to do with chinese...
Butter is also fat as well, saturated fat, and in western cooking especially french cooking

yet we Taiwanese are still skinny
you are skinny because Asian don't have that much to eat and genetic can play important role in body composition
American are fat people 50% obese because they eat too much, fat or no fat and metabolism play important role
some people don't eat much but they are fat
I agree about that genetic is one of the factor...but "Asian don't have that much too eat" sounds strange. I stayed in USA and always stay around 70~75kg. After back to Taiwan, my weight became 85kg...I think it's lack of sports, and wrong choices for food are the main reasons.
It's such a lazy language. They speak with nose.
Omg Aden...thx so much for posting these videos! I was in Taipei twice...and I loved it so much. Makes me miss this place 😭 Also, do you live in TW or was it just a vacation you did?
Taipei is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of street food~
