    I also recommend while making rolls to go into the utility setting and changing the offset to 2, makes for more barrel rolls than inline rolls, and will smooth out some of the curved turns. Also you can make your breaking section first so you know the section going into the station will be smooth, and don't be afraid to take off angle snapping.

      Great info! I did actually turn off angle snapping when I was rebuilding it(the blue coaster) but you're right that most of my time lapse had it on and I wasn't even thinking about it until later. :P

    Also don't use the in-game holding break piece on the dive coaster, just use really stronge breaks instead so then u can make the drop look more realistic

    I'm totally going to use that G-force tip! I didn't know those numbers before, and I was wondering why my coasters which looked fantastic kept getting horrible ratings.

    I love building the coasters, but I never get them completely right. But that is part of the fun, just gotta keep on trying.

      That is very true! "Practice makes perfect" I still have a long ways to go but wouldn't be where I'm at without the time I spent in previous games. And I truly mean it when I say it's a good idea to try to recreate real roller coasters!

    1:34 I highly recommend this process of making the entire coaster bank offset 7 and then go back smooth a group of four track pieces at a time back and forth four times. Time consuming? Yes, but it makes for a smooth and proper banked ride

  • @bearing_mayday

    A good thing is to follow the "roll" that mean if you make an inversion to the left you need to make a inversion to the left after for keeping the momentum, in case you need to bend to the right just make the second part of the inversion (if you can) and smooth it until you can't see straight track.

    Thanks a ton FF. Last question. I am having trouble quickly placing ivy on the walls and tops of buildings. Is there a super fast way I can paste those texture to an existing building? For example, I wanted to spruce up the bland ATM building by attaching Ivy to the left and right side. Then plop one on the roof too. This was to make it blend better with fairy tale campaign. I spent way too much time dawdling with the rotate commands and still couldn't get it flush.

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 лет назад

      Hmm, I'd have to see it to be sure, but I'll try giving some advice. Are you saying that it wasn't flush against the wall or that you couldn't get the angle the way you like? If it's the first one, then try hitting F to center it, then if you hold CTRL and drag your mouse you can move it in and out which might be faster than trying to use the advanced move. If it's the latter, I'm not sure how else to advise outside of using the rotation tool. You can try placing it while editing the building or placing it independently of the building, not sure if that makes a difference. I hope that helps. :\

    • @jpinard
      @jpinard 8 лет назад

      Yes you understand! When I tried to use the rotational tools I fiddle with it forever and still can't get it flush. For something so simple - attach ivy to vertical wall piece it was taking forever and still looked poor. "Paste flat texture to wall" seemed like it should have been much simpler than I was doing.

    I started watching this video and noticed you were making a wing over drop which is used on b&m wing coasters such as swarm and gatekeeper but I noticed that you were using a 4D coaster train and in my head I was like trying to tell you but then I realised it was a video

    Great series of videos!
    One question: would you rather recommend getting used to the building and landscaping tools in sandbox mode or with the restrictions of scenario rules?

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 лет назад +1

      I'm not sure it really matters much. Landscaping costs money if you're not in sandbox so there's that, but it still doesn't really cost that much compared to what you'd think it would be, so after a short amount of time in a scenario or challenge mode it's pretty easy to do anyway.

    • @DerMannInDerWand
      @DerMannInDerWand 8 лет назад

      Foxy Fern ah cool. I've been holding off playing so far due to lack of time, but I'm looking forward to sinking a couple hours into it this weekend. If it's not as expensive then I guess there's nothing that speaks against learning the ropes in scenario mode :)
      Thanks!

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 лет назад +1

      You're welcome! One thing to keep in mind too is you can use undo(ctrl+z) to back track your landscaping and it will also refund you the money for it.

    Hey Foxy Fern i'm having a rather weird problem with a coaster. When i do a test run it's excitement, fear and nausea are all in the green, however once it goes live the excitement drops by 2.0 points and the fear and nausea both go into the orange. Is that a bug or am i missing something?

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 лет назад

      Hmm, that sounds like a bug to me. It definitely shouldn't change if you haven't modified anything on the coaster at all between testing and opening it. Have you tried saving it as a blueprint and then demolishing and rebuilding it? If it is indeed a bug it's possible that might fix it.

    • @StarGundam007
      @StarGundam007 8 лет назад

      Turns out it was a block section. I had two trains and the second one was blocking the first.

    Only started playing this 2 days ago, and ya all my custom coasters end up having 3 excitement, 10 fear and 15 naussea :-|
    While I am testing the track, the excitement seems very high, like 8's. However when I use auto-complete to have the auto tool connect the end to the station and run the full test, excitement drops to very low indeed.

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 лет назад +1

      I would recommend only using auto complete for a small section at the very end of making your roller coaster(you can see me use it in this video at 3:30). Auto complete only cares about 1 thing: connecting your tracks together. It's not going to worry about how it affects your coaster's ratings.
      Also, check the overall fear of your ride as you're building it. If there is any ONE spot where it goes up really high, that will decrease the excitement of your entire roller coaster regardless how fun the rest of it is, because people won't enjoy the death-defying section.

  • @StarGundam007
    @StarGundam007 8 лет назад

    Highly informative. Though i think half of the information flew over my head. (Some of it is a bit too advance for me) I think i can improve my coasters with what i understand from this video.

    • @blubbness
      @blubbness 6 лет назад

      some people do nail it, so i don´t blame the game...i´m not that much into riding coasters irl, maybe that affects my instincts to guess what is good for a coaster...xD
