The ps4 version looks so great, i was planning to sell my ps4 slim but now, i won't it's still running games at 1080p 60 fps wich is completely acceptable
@@soufianeguezri9815 it’s not 60 FPS tho unfortunately, the base ps4 can only do up to 60 FPS 1080p but with games like these it’s maxed at 30 FPS unless you have the pro version of the console

So far the biggest differences in current and next gen to my eyes are higher res textures in some places, smoother frame rates, and mostly higher quality lighting and effects which is pretty cool I think. Good lighting and effects can elevate even just average models and give much more depth to a scene. I like it, looking forward to what’s to come

Wow. Textures are a lot sharper, and the lighting and 60fps make quite a difference. I'm currently playing on the PS4, but now I can't wait to upgrade.

I had a ps4 until yesterday my parents just bought me a ps5 for my birthday. Bless them, but the only thing I feel has changed is loading times & the look of the console 😂

@@Iruletheworld1982 100% true. These games are touch ups from PS4 content. When PS5 starts to really get pushed in 2-3 years, you'll see vast differences. Just look at early PS4 games versus later ones. Some were superb, but others were rough. Red Read Redemption still blows my mind that the base PS4 can pull that off. Especially more impressive with it's lack of pop-in when traversing the game environment.
First off you are wrong buddy, this isn’t a next gen made game for one and second, when a puddle of mud and water looks like a 240p cloud on a console that can hardly run 30 fps, there’s a slight problem. Even bigger is the problem where you are calling ps4 a beast. In no way is an rx 470 a beast and especially not compared to a rtx 2070 8gb.
I’m guessing the main thing with the new generation of consoles is the resolutions and frame rates. Graphics have got so good with the last generation that graphical improvements are more subtle than when the last generation came out.
Not really. It’s the same amount of polygons with different colors, shanding and texture to make ot look fresh. At the end of the day it’s exactly the same thing tweaked just a little.

Valhalla was made with the base ps4 in mind, everything from there (pro, 5, pc) just have some higher settings turned on... we won’t see what ps5 can really do until they completely drop support for ps4s
I'm positive we will see what the ps5 can do this year with Sony titles taking full advantage of the ps5 hardware god of war & horizon for example they might still come out on ps4 but that doesn't mean they will limit the games on next gen

also if I have to squint to notice the difference in a game like this, it's probably not worth that much money. it's better to wait till a) there are more games made for PS5 instead of glorified ports like Valhalla or Dirt 5 (remember the graphical difference between Black Flag and Unity?) b) the price drops c) developers get more accustomed to making games that graphically push the new system to its limits d) (for people like me who care about size & aesthetics) they make a slim PS5. the current one is just gigantic.
Soooo... I’m 42 and witnessed the jump between 8 bit to 16 bit... then came the 64 bit... then 3D gaming. The jumps in quality were mind blowing. Although I’m not watching on the latest and greatest 4K tv, the jump here is definitely not mind blowing. I see the quality enhancement though but it gets a ‘meh’ out of 10 for me. I think I’m just getting to be an old man:).

Well these are still PS4 games capability. Have you seen the difference when PS4 finally started making games only for ps4, rather holding it back to support PS3? When a console finally ditches it's predecessor and makes games solely based on its capability, the developers can fully take advantage of the system rather thinking "see I want this but I can't PS3 can't handle it lets just tone it down so PS3 can handle it" that's why a lot of people are just saying stop supporting the PS4 and just only make games for ps5, which they will naturally but it takes a year maybe 2 for it to be incorporated

Especially considering the difficulty in finding a ps5 right now (happy af i nabbed one on release day on Amazon). I think they should continue to support ps4 for another year or so for third party games probably. But i think exclusives, being the ones that sell the consoles, should definitely transition to ps5 exclusive as soon as possible. I have no idea about horizon forbidden west or god of war ragnarok, but i think they should definitely be ps5 exclusives.
After playing The Last of Us 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, I think the PS4 is capable of far more than what AC Valhalla brings to the table. Great game, but I think some of the gap in detail in the PS4 and PS5 version could have been fixed, such as 5:00. That puddle on PS4 looks like something on PS2. Dunno if it's my screen or the actual puddle.

I played the game November 10 on my PS4 pro and then on my PS5 November 12 Graphics are the same people sayin there's a Small difference in terms of texture are either trolls or they lie to themselves. The only huge difference is the fps and colors or shadows changes but texture are the exact same. A good example of a huge difference in terms of texture is démon soul.
Haven't played Valhalla yet but can already tell the fps jump is gonna be the best upgrade. Recently playing odyssey on ps5 via ps4 backwards compatibility and my god is it noticeably clunky after playing other third person games in 60fps. I got used to it but it is jarring

Gonna stick to Ps4 until Ps5’s can be purchased like normal. I’m gonna scoop up the Watchdogs legion/Assassins creed Valhalla bundle for 60$. I played all watchdog games and my friends told me Valhalla was super good. And I enjoyed Origins.
At 5:20 the ps4 version looks more muddy...pun intended. Jokes aside it really holds well against ps5, yeah the lower resolution is very apparent but still looks good, and to my surprise the render distance is better than I thought. Thanks for the upload! :)
Shadows look nice and the daylight looks beautiful even for 1080p which is what I currently have atm but this video help me see the difference I was just curious what PS4 version would look like and now I know thanks for the comparison
If your thinking about buying a Ps5 make sure you buy the disc addition. I know its slightly more expensive but the money you save on games makes it well worth it. I buy loads of games in local stores for more then half the price as what they are on the PS Store.
Just finally snagged a PS5 today. I'm halfway through Valhalla on my PS4 and am excited to see how it is on the PS5. This video is definitely showing some nice highlights of the differences.
You couldn't of said it any better. Thats exactly all it does. Kinda like the PS4 and the PS4 Pro. It just allowed the draw distance to be better and show a few more branches on trees lol. PS5 really dont have no Next Gen Jump.. Its super hard to tell unless you do comparisons like in this video. I noticed there was a flower on the ground on the PS5 version, and on the PS4 version the flower wasnt there. PS5 just makes everything a tiny bit sharper like you said. But not by much fr.. Only thing I like about the PS5 is how quiet the system is.. There are 3 fans out there in the PS5 Consoles, and last night I took mine apart to clean it and to see which I have. Got super lucky that I have the Delta model fan. So I was definitely excited over that lol. Delta fan is the quietest one out of the 3 fans. So I got really lucky with that lol. Not sure why they didnt make them all be the same fan for.
This comparison gives the PS4 version too much credit. Ubisoft were very lazy in making the PS4 version stand out. Valhalla on PS5 looks about on par with Origins/Odyssey while on PS4 it looks like a game on PS3. The PS4 is capable of so much more than what we got with this game... I have both versions.
I just started playing this last night and a couple specific things about the graphics I expected to be better were 1. The way the characters mouths move when talking. I just finished the cod Cold War campaign and that game was significantly better for this. And 2. The way characters facial hair looks. I know hair is something that’s always been difficult to get right but it seems worse in this game than odyssey. And I’m playing this on ps5 compared to odyssey on PS4.
I order the new 82 inch lg 4K with 120hz and hdmi 2.1 and also was able to download the free Valhalla upgrade for Ps5 because i recently purchased for my ps4 pro so I’m excited to see how well it plays on my new tv... will be here Saturday 😁 thanks for sharing this video
@Frank Marano dunno where your logic comes from. They had access to the latest development kit on the next gen console and released it in line with the next gen consoles. The PS5 and Xbox Series X have about 10tflops of fp32 performance it's nothing groundbreaking the 3090 can delivery 36tflops so don't expect anything revolutionary. In terms of actual graphics quality even the RTX2060 that's 2 years old is it's pc competition.
@Frank Marano It's simple really GTA5 was released on the PS3 and PS4 , it's still one of the best looking games on PS4 7 years later. The hardware is the hardware there's only so much optimization you can do. At no point did any game come out on the PS4 that made GTA look past gen. Long gone are the days of the custom chips that are hard to code for which game developers need to learn to look better. The modern consoles are quite literally just a Ryzen processor and an Amd Gpu. Also please dont act like a big man calling me a dickhead with some emo nonce haircut like that.
It’s actually really good on ps5 in person. All the textures are super detailed and looks really clear. Just wish the FPS was faster on quality mode, but looks pretty great.
I dont think people realize that the difference in graphics isnt the game changer, ps5 has a little more detail in its graphics but not much which is okay the fact that these are games that came out before the ps5 dropped so graphics will only get better as the system has been out longer but the smoothness and gameplay w 60fps vs 30fps makes games feel like a brand new game its crazy how much of a difference 30 fps can make
The graphics are better as well as fps and ssd on ps5 does wonders for loading times. Although the graphics look a bit weird at times but then again this is a cross gen game and I am sure in the next year developers will make use of the hardware in an even better way. Spiderman in my opinion is one if the best looking games so far
I have to say in my opinion, the ps4 graphics are still awesome. I mean the ps5 graphics are better,, but I grew up in the years with the first Atari, Nintendo, Sega, game cube and so on. So to me I have a ps4 and absolutely love it!!!!! And own a ps3 and Wii. The Ps5 is super sick and I'll be getting one when they get all the kinks worked out. But till then I love my ps4
But the ps4 one overall looks better, I have a PS4 and a PS5 , I run both on a 4k TV, for current games which are available for ps5 , the only improvement I can comprehend are the higher frame rates. Rest is negligible. I still end up playing more on my PS4 as my games are installed there. Also the claim that ps5 will have negligible load times is all BS. It boots up fast but when loading games there is still substantial loading times, only may be few seconds faster than ps5. In my view this is not the right time to buy PS5 wait till 2022, Devs are yet to optimise the games properly for PS4, PS5 seems more like an incomplete system. Compared to that PS4 is a more complete device with more games running smoothly.
it's telling how close this game and many other comparisons out there look between the two consoles. There is a theory of diminishing returns on computing power when it comes to video game fidelity. I think it's true. If you look back, compare the graphics jump from other generations. It was AWLAYS a "Woah, look at that. The next generation is leaps ahead graphically. It looks so realistic". Compare that to this current gen vs last gen. Now the reaction is "hmm, they look really good. Looks like a little more ambient occlusion and shade detail way off in the background there.."
The PS5 one does clearly look better here, which isn't the case in all games... My question is, why is a 2018 PS4 game able to look better than the PS5 version of AC: Valhalla? Why did they have to cut the textures and lighting so badly, when older games were able to do better?
No game on PS4 looks better than AC on PS5 maybe artistically but not graphically. The reason for this is simple the PS5 is just more powerful so devs can add allot more things that they simply can’t on the PS4. Even the best looking games on PS4 they will never look better than any game released on Ps5 graphically. Maybe you are just caught up in what last gen had to offer and can’t see what next gen can offer.
Interesting. I was assuming the difference would be like night and day. It isn't. The ps5 is sharper and the frame rates are probably doubled, but visually it's almost the same. Picking up my ps5 on Saturday at BestBuy and was going to restart Valhalla on that to enjoy the superior graphics/performance, but I see now it's not superior, just a little better.
Well, it's not almost the same by a long shot. The PS5 version looks so much better. 60 fps and beautiful graphics. I was very pleasantly surprised when I started playing on the PS5. I have around 45 hours in on the PS4 and now around 12 hours on the PS5. I didn't start over as my saves carried over. The PS5 is a really amazing console. I feel like I am playing this on a gaming pc I can't afford. Keep in mind though, you need a screen to support what the PS5 can do. I bought a new monitor just for it.
Ok. So what makes ps5 great than ps4 on this one, is the lighting when the sun comes, more textures on the ground, faster speed frame, and of course 4k feature enhanced the pictures.

Ps5 loading more 3D polygon than the PS4. The greater number of polygon on the model will interacts with the sunlight and create texture and shadow on it self. The ps4 used some fake shadow on the model to create the same look, but it is tiny blurry.
The biggest thing you notice is the jump to 60fps, followed by texture details like rocks and water, then lighting effects. On the ps5 I often stand around looking at landscapes whereas at my friends on the ps4 everything just doesn't look quite as good. I mean fairplay to the ps4 it's really pushing itself during this game the fans are on constantly. Still looks very respectable
For me it's mostly about the frame rate with all latest games. I had ps4 pro with ssd it just can't handle games fluid anymore. This game and cyberpunk(way more noticeable difference)
When I’m playing the game on PS5 I don’t feel the adaptive triggers as much even though it is on the strong option. Is it different when you getting bow and arrows and different weapons? The haptic feedback isn’t very responsive...
As i said before the release of Series X and PS5, only difference between 8th and 9th gen will be raytracing and framerate and resolution. Just look crossgen games between ps2 and ps3 or ps3 and ps4, the differende was huge, now if there is no RT they look almost the same just different framerate and higher resolution.

CDPR know what they're doing. The Witcher 3 was better looking on PS4 than Cyberpunk. Something just went horribly wrong.

I’m guessing the main thing with the new generation of consoles is the resolutions and frame rates. Graphics have got so good with the last generation that graphical improvements are more subtle than when the last generation came out.

Not really. It’s the same amount of polygons with different colors, shanding and texture to make ot look fresh. At the end of the day it’s exactly the same thing tweaked just a little.

Valhalla was made with the base ps4 in mind, everything from there (pro, 5, pc) just have some higher settings turned on... we won’t see what ps5 can really do until they completely drop support for ps4s
I'm positive we will see what the ps5 can do this year with Sony titles taking full advantage of the ps5 hardware god of war & horizon for example they might still come out on ps4 but that doesn't mean they will limit the games on next gen

also if I have to squint to notice the difference in a game like this, it's probably not worth that much money. it's better to wait till a) there are more games made for PS5 instead of glorified ports like Valhalla or Dirt 5 (remember the graphical difference between Black Flag and Unity?) b) the price drops c) developers get more accustomed to making games that graphically push the new system to its limits d) (for people like me who care about size & aesthetics) they make a slim PS5. the current one is just gigantic.

Soooo... I’m 42 and witnessed the jump between 8 bit to 16 bit... then came the 64 bit... then 3D gaming. The jumps in quality were mind blowing. Although I’m not watching on the latest and greatest 4K tv, the jump here is definitely not mind blowing. I see the quality enhancement though but it gets a ‘meh’ out of 10 for me. I think I’m just getting to be an old man:).

the 60 fps is the nicest thing about the ps5 version. the resolution bump is nice too, but you cant really see that too well in this video.
Well these are still PS4 games capability. Have you seen the difference when PS4 finally started making games only for ps4, rather holding it back to support PS3?
When a console finally ditches it's predecessor and makes games solely based on its capability, the developers can fully take advantage of the system rather thinking "see I want this but I can't PS3 can't handle it lets just tone it down so PS3 can handle it" that's why a lot of people are just saying stop supporting the PS4 and just only make games for ps5, which they will naturally but it takes a year maybe 2 for it to be incorporated

Especially considering the difficulty in finding a ps5 right now (happy af i nabbed one on release day on Amazon). I think they should continue to support ps4 for another year or so for third party games probably. But i think exclusives, being the ones that sell the consoles, should definitely transition to ps5 exclusive as soon as possible. I have no idea about horizon forbidden west or god of war ragnarok, but i think they should definitely be ps5 exclusives.

After playing The Last of Us 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, I think the PS4 is capable of far more than what AC Valhalla brings to the table. Great game, but I think some of the gap in detail in the PS4 and PS5 version could have been fixed, such as 5:00. That puddle on PS4 looks like something on PS2.

I played the game November 10 on my PS4 pro and then on my PS5 November 12 Graphics are the same people sayin there's a Small difference in terms of texture are either trolls or they lie to themselves. The only huge difference is the fps and colors or shadows changes but texture are the exact same. A good example of a huge difference in terms of texture is démon soul.
By the time ps5’s become easily available, Sony will mention working on the upcoming ps6.

Haven't played Valhalla yet but can already tell the fps jump is gonna be the best upgrade. Recently playing odyssey on ps5 via ps4 backwards compatibility and my god is it noticeably clunky after playing other third person games in 60fps. I got used to it but it is jarring

I played all watchdog games and my friends told me Valhalla was super good. And I enjoyed Origins.

At 5:20 the ps4 version looks more muddy...pun intended. Jokes aside it really holds well against ps5, yeah the lower resolution is very apparent but still looks good, and to my surprise the render distance is better than I thought. Thanks for the upload! :)

If your thinking about buying a Ps5 make sure you buy the disc addition. I know its slightly more expensive but the money you save on games makes it well worth it. I buy loads of games in local stores for more then half the price as what they are on the PS Store.

Just finally snagged a PS5 today. I'm halfway through Valhalla on my PS4 and am excited to see how it is on the PS5. This video is definitely showing some nice highlights of the differences.

PS5 really dont have no Next Gen Jump.. Its super hard to tell unless you do comparisons like in this video. I noticed there was a flower on the ground on the PS5 version, and on the PS4 version the flower wasnt there. PS5 just makes everything a tiny bit sharper like you said. But not by much fr..
Only thing I like about the PS5 is how quiet the system is.. There are 3 fans out there in the PS5 Consoles, and last night I took mine apart to clean it and to see which I have. Got super lucky that I have the Delta model fan. So I was definitely excited over that lol. Delta fan is the quietest one out of the 3 fans. So I got really lucky with that lol. Not sure why they didnt make them all be the same fan for.
This comparison gives the PS4 version too much credit. Ubisoft were very lazy in making the PS4 version stand out. Valhalla on PS5 looks about on par with Origins/Odyssey while on PS4 it looks like a game on PS3. The PS4 is capable of so much more than what we got with this game... I have both versions.

I just started playing this last night and a couple specific things about the graphics I expected to be better were 1. The way the characters mouths move when talking. I just finished the cod Cold War campaign and that game was significantly better for this. And 2. The way characters facial hair looks. I know hair is something that’s always been difficult to get right but it seems worse in this game than odyssey. And I’m playing this on ps5 compared to odyssey on PS4.

They had access to the latest development kit on the next gen console and released it in line with the next gen consoles.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X have about 10tflops of fp32 performance it's nothing groundbreaking the 3090 can delivery 36tflops so don't expect anything revolutionary.
In terms of actual graphics quality even the RTX2060 that's 2 years old is it's pc competition.
@Frank Marano It's simple really GTA5 was released on the PS3 and PS4 , it's still one of the best looking games on PS4 7 years later.
The hardware is the hardware there's only so much optimization you can do.
At no point did any game come out on the PS4 that made GTA look past gen.
Long gone are the days of the custom chips that are hard to code for which game developers need to learn to look better.
The modern consoles are quite literally just a Ryzen processor and an Amd Gpu.

It’s actually really good on ps5 in person. All the textures are super detailed and looks really clear. Just wish the FPS was faster on quality mode, but looks pretty great.
I dont think people realize that the difference in graphics isnt the game changer, ps5 has a little more detail in its graphics but not much which is okay the fact that these are games that came out before the ps5 dropped so graphics will only get better as the system has been out longer but the smoothness and gameplay w 60fps vs 30fps makes games feel like a brand new game its crazy how much of a difference 30 fps can make

The graphics are better as well as fps and ssd on ps5 does wonders for loading times. Although the graphics look a bit weird at times but then again this is a cross gen game and I am sure in the next year developers will make use of the hardware in an even better way. Spiderman in my opinion is one if the best looking games so far

I have to say in my opinion, the ps4 graphics are still awesome. I mean the ps5 graphics are better,, but I grew up in the years with the first Atari, Nintendo, Sega, game cube and so on. So to me I have a ps4 and absolutely love it!!!!! And own a ps3 and Wii. The Ps5 is super sick and I'll be getting one when they get all the kinks worked out. But till then I love my ps4
But the ps4 one overall looks better, I have a PS4 and a PS5 , I run both on a 4k TV, for current games which are available for ps5 , the only improvement I can comprehend are the higher frame rates. Rest is negligible. I still end up playing more on my PS4 as my games are installed there. Also the claim that ps5 will have negligible load times is all BS. It boots up fast but when loading games there is still substantial loading times, only may be few seconds faster than ps5. In my view this is not the right time to buy PS5 wait till 2022, Devs are yet to optimise the games properly for PS4, PS5 seems more like an incomplete system. Compared to that PS4 is a more complete device with more games running smoothly.
it's telling how close this game and many other comparisons out there look between the two consoles. There is a theory of diminishing returns on computing power when it comes to video game fidelity. I think it's true. If you look back, compare the graphics jump from other generations. It was AWLAYS a "Woah, look at that. The next generation is leaps ahead graphically. It looks so realistic". Compare that to this current gen vs last gen. Now the reaction is "hmm, they look really good. Looks like a little more ambient occlusion and shade detail way off in the background there.."

The PS5 one does clearly look better here, which isn't the case in all games... My question is, why is a 2018 PS4 game able to look better than the PS5 version of AC: Valhalla? Why did they have to cut the textures and lighting so badly, when older games were able to do better?
No game on PS4 looks better than AC on PS5 maybe artistically but not graphically. The reason for this is simple the PS5 is just more powerful so devs can add allot more things that they simply can’t on the PS4. Even the best looking games on PS4 they will never look better than any game released on Ps5 graphically. Maybe you are just caught up in what last gen had to offer and can’t see what next gen can offer.
Interesting. I was assuming the difference would be like night and day. It isn't. The ps5 is sharper and the frame rates are probably doubled, but visually it's almost the same. Picking up my ps5 on Saturday at BestBuy and was going to restart Valhalla on that to enjoy the superior graphics/performance, but I see now it's not superior, just a little better.
Well, it's not almost the same by a long shot. The PS5 version looks so much better. 60 fps and beautiful graphics. I was very pleasantly surprised when I started playing on the PS5. I have around 45 hours in on the PS4 and now around 12 hours on the PS5. I didn't start over as my saves carried over. The PS5 is a really amazing console. I feel like I am playing this on a gaming pc I can't afford. Keep in mind though, you need a screen to support what the PS5 can do. I bought a new monitor just for it.

Ps5 loading more 3D polygon than the PS4. The greater number of polygon on the model will interacts with the sunlight and create texture and shadow on it self. The ps4 used some fake shadow on the model to create the same look, but it is tiny blurry.
If the PS4 version’s load times weren’t so atrocious, I’d play it and save me some space on my console storage
The biggest thing you notice is the jump to 60fps, followed by texture details like rocks and water, then lighting effects. On the ps5 I often stand around looking at landscapes whereas at my friends on the ps4 everything just doesn't look quite as good.

For me it's mostly about the frame rate with all latest games. I had ps4 pro with ssd it just can't handle games fluid anymore. This game and cyberpunk(way more noticeable difference)
When I’m playing the game on PS5 I don’t feel the adaptive triggers as much even though it is on the strong option. Is it different when you getting bow and arrows and different weapons? The haptic feedback isn’t very responsive...

As i said before the release of Series X and PS5, only difference between 8th and 9th gen will be raytracing and framerate and resolution. Just look crossgen games between ps2 and ps3 or ps3 and ps4, the differende was huge, now if there is no RT they look almost the same just different framerate and higher resolution.
