That attack was crazy. After all that fighting he still had enough gas for that attack and coating himself in a flame dragon to counter the bajrang gun. Kaido was a monster.

I felt like it should’ve been too but I think it’s because it’s a two episode showcase and so there’s a lot of different animation shot so it’s not really a one and go like the rest. It reminds me of the Roger and Whitebeard Clash. I feel though that it should’ve been in honorable mentions at least
I too was wondering why oda couldnt put the backstory and wano flashback, after the fight but before the bajrung gun. Like lets not introduce the bajrung gun in 1074 (chp 1048) and let 1075 1076 play out and take the bajrung gun in episode 1076 second half(chapter 1049)
The only thing I’d change is that I have my 2 and 3 switched from yours. Luffy’s lightning attacks to me showcase an aspect about him that finally sets him apart. All of the Yonko we had seen up until that point have massive wide-scale attacks that can mass wipe huge areas. Whitebeard had quake power. Kaido had so many, but Boro Breath and the wind attacks all come to mind. Big Mom has Hokaku Sovereignty, Tenjin, and Fulgora. Blackbeard also had quake and Black Hole. To me, one major component setting Luffy behind in the Yonko race was a mass-casualty attack, and this really brought it for me. When he split the skies, I thought “he has reached Yonko level.” When he used this attack, I thought “this man is a Yonko.”
one underrated attack is where luffy and kaido clash so hard the ground turns magma. and then luffy loses footing and we essentially see similair animation to kaidos death detstroyer thunder bagua but it looks even cleaner here. i forgot the episode if you know pls tell me
🤓 Katsumi Ishizuka retired as an animator after episode 1017 & then became an action Storyboard artist (well, he used to board some stuff & his own sequences) He boarded Ota's 1049 sequence, 1114's Galaxy Impact, 80% of 1062 is also Storyboarded by him. Hell, most of the "extras" at the end of the video, a good amount was animated by him (WB & Roger clash, Kawamatsu's, Soba Kick, etc) 🤓
He Used to be the Finisher guy since Pre-timeskip like he animate the Gomu-Gomu storm vs Crocodile, Gomu-Gomu golden rifle vs. Enel and the iconic Gomu-Gomu jet gatling gun vs. Rob Lucci It's poetic for him to retired at the end of episode 1017 that he animate similar the iconic animation back in his glory days
King last attack with the whole scenary around him was too dope 💯. When Oda called kaido commanders Calamities that is what i was expecting. Not that we got in the manga at all😅. But Zoro vs King was beautifully animated 👌🏿

One of my most favorite animated moments in Wano, is the whole end sequence of episode 1028, where Luffy figures out that Kaido was mixing Advanced Conquerer’s Haki with his attacks, and is about to be attacked by Kaido. Then everything from Luffy recalling Hyogoro’s motivating words how each defeat was only a stepping stone to him getting stronger with a montage of Luffy’s past losses, to the visual of a defeated Luffy with his now stronger caped self rising up from that stance, awakening then mastering his Ryou Conquerer’s Haki with the Sakura petals blooming, the collect Ryou Haki gathering within his body & veins, the triumphant music rising, with the scene going back to Luffy with back to Kaido just as he is about to be hit, blocking the Kaido’s attack with his foot without touching it with the intense music starting, Kaido’s smooth spinning counter attack, thier clash of Haki causing the ground to crack with he camera following one of them to a weakened Law waking up to look to witness this as the camera pans around to show us his view of it, and to it finally ending with that epic uppercut with “We Are” playing in the background. I truly believe that moment was underrated and something truly special.
It's even crazier than that: "Nguyen" is a fairly common Vietnamese surname, pronounced in English as "Wynn/when". Insert more you know shooting star here etc etc. Awesome vid! Hope you do one for the top 10 animated attacks during the "Toei DGAF about OP" era pre-Wano.
Episode 1074 was a legendary episode. The lightning throw, kaido slamming luffy everywhere, destroyer of death and to top it off the bajrang gun. What an episode 🔥🔥
I’m not going to lie, I really enjoyed Kid’s Damned Punk in Wano whenever you have the start of the episode w/Kid flashing through his entire journey up until that point then you just hear Law scream “Eustass-Ya!!!!” That junk went kinda nuts
One of my favorite "attacks" is Luffy + Tree vs 3 Admirals in Marineford. That scene at that time stood out so much and fits into the anime style adapted today.
For me imo, the animated scene of Luffy punching the Celestial Dragon deserves a spot. That scene still holds up as one of the best and satisfying animated attacks in One Piece.
This list will probably be full of moments from recent arcs but the one in the movie called Choppers’s Island of Strange Animals where Zoro did tatsumaki. It was pretty badass

idk about my top 10, however i do know that as a single attack, robins demonio fleur was my favourite. the athmosphere? the colors?? the voice acting??? THE DERESHISHI????? bro. one of the very few things i absolutely wanted to see in the anime and watched it many many times on youtube. im an incorrigible robin stan though, so i might be biased 😇

It was going well until top 5. I guess it's personal preference but no way shanks attack animation is better than garp’s galaxy impact, Zoro vs king, luffy's gum gum lightning sequence. Also I'm surprised he only choose first part of Zoro vs king final attack. I think the attack itself was also peak. That ENTIRE time was NOTHING just juicy fight animation and choreography that I HAVE to give credit to the animators cuz 80% of it wasn't in the manga.
They let their imagination run wild for that
Garp v aokiji, ice ball and all! Fave tho is Zoro the goat v the hybrid yonko attack during roof piece, and of course his whole fight with King. Sanji vs Queen is rt next to it, like the pirate kings wings eh

i actually prefer the "badly" animated attacks over the sakuga ones, like zoros finisher against mr.1 or luffy punching bellamy. much more impact
