- An actual telerecording of ABC Melbourne news on the night of the Westgate Bridge disaster. When this was originally up loaded RUclips was only a low resolution service. This upload is much better but sill poor quality in todays terms as it reflects the primitive outside broadcast and recording processes of the time.

My uncle at 3:06 being assisted away. He rode the bridge down and got a bad neck out of it. Passed away in 2007. A very fortunate man.
On Christmas Eve, 2020, I finally visited the Westgate Memorial Park for the very first time. Impressed by the grandeur of the finished bridge. Played some songs through headphones while there. They were the Hi-5 theme, Westgate by Mark Seymour, Little Girls Lullaby by DJ Sammy, Everybody Hurts By R.E.M and Dark Angel by Ericcson and Jude Elliot. And them I vowed to add many more Darkangel2347 comments to RUclips.

This event forms 50% of the invention of the online moniker I use on RUclips. First used on June 19, 2007. I was only 7 months old and actually living in Melbourne when this event took place. When the bridge finally opened to traffic on November 15, 1978, I was living in Whyalla, SA. I still live in SA and have not ever been across or near the bridge ever.
Wow, great quality! I can almost make out the individual scan lines!
Tv was watched on a small screen and although studio quality could very good, when you get transfers that have been through the electronic to film process and back again as in this example the quality suffers. Don't think any other better quality version of this exists.

Incorrect. The Royal Commission found that the collapse was caused by a combination of factors relating to the bridge design and method of construction as well as the repeated interference and malfeasance of the two principal unions involved in the project. No findings whatsoever were made with regard to 'rushing the job'. Indeed the Royal Commission's findings specifically stated that its completion had in fact been significantly delayed due to the abovementioned union interference and no finding relating to 'stunning arrogance' was delivered. You clearly have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of this subject and to conceal that fact thought that if you posted a comment riddled with melodramatic adjectives that you would appear to be informed rather than patently if not laughably ignorant. You also apparently have no idea what the meaning of the word 'murder' actually is.
