    I don't think you are a quitter! the problem with a big garden is a bit like painting the Firth of Forth Bridge!! As the weather gets colder the plant growth will slow down and you will beat it into shape. Brambles are a long term eradication problem. Keep going, we want to see what is around the next corner.

    I love when you trim the lower branches on the trees. You do it so neatly, cutting close to the trunk instead of leaving a sloppy nub. The trees look neat and healthy afterwards. I can't wait for the ivy to go. I know you said that you are leaving the outer part of the yard for nature, but the dead branches thrown back there just look messy next to the attractive yard you are creating. It will I years for them to break down.Otherwise, this is becoming a beautiful place with areas of sunshine and shade, and little surprises around every corner. I'm enjoying seeing it all reappear.

    You give up on a garden project?…I can’t see you giving up on a garden, ever! 👍 😊 Martin my back hurt watching you clean the driveway. I’m still trying to understand the purpose of the ‘cloth’ that was laid there and it being a burning spot. 🤷‍♀️ What a tangled mess. I watched as you figured out the best way to tackle it and said if anyone can figure it out, Martin can…and you did! Good job! You are so tidy at each step! You make such a difference each week, amazing really what you can do!
    Next?…I’m interested to see everything 😅, but I believe I’d like to see the front gardens worked giving them the Martin ‘touch’. I think they need a fountain in the area on right where they keep burning. Enjoyed watching, have a good week!

    I was just watching it thinking that all the bits you've done are looking far better now and the lawns are greening up beautifully. Keep up the good work you are doing a fab job. I'd love to see that border on the right tidied and weeded to show all the beautiful shrubs. And maybe doing something a bit more "planty" which would then be finished (or as finished as gardening ever is) would help you feel a bit more positive. You are doing amazingly, it will be wonderful to maintain at the end. I'm tackling a 12ft high pyracantha with loppers tomorrow for a client. I was just thinking that those branches would compost just as well as woodchips but faster and add some mulching for the trees and garden beds. I'm confused by the gravel and weed barrier being placed over the tarmac. Is there somehwere else the gravel can be used? There's so much to choose from, its hard to pick what should be done next. Its looking lovely tho! Thanks for these videos!

    It's such a job you have taken on but it's going to be glorious for the homeowners for years to come. One question if I may? Why don't you have a "regular height" shovel? I'd think that would be such a help! Easier on your back for sure and easier to get leverage. Just curious as I see so many folks on various garden channels in the UK using the short ones like you have whereas here in the US everyone has the longer handled ones. Again, you're doing a wonderful job!

    • @martinthegardenguy
      @martinthegardenguy  28 минут назад

      It's a perfectly valid question 😊😅 I don't really do that much shoveling to be fair. A long handle one is certainly on the shopping list, but so are quite a few other tools 😁 so I just make do with what I have.

    You've done so much already. It would be a shame to stop now. You've made a big dent in that ash pit at the end of the driveway, and have taken up a good portion of that so-called "weed-barrier" cloth. It would be great to see that removed completely, and for some mulch or something to be put in its place.
