I remember watching this segment a million times around the time it first came out. Still remember the couple of "La Cucaracha" reprises after all these years
9:26 Not only was that the funniest line Dave could have said about the Cupcake Car, it was also the only line that could have been said about that freakin' thing.
These were always so great….usually one at Christmas and sometimes one for summer toys… was always fun to see Dave make fun of the toys…Carson used to do the same thing .
My very close friends made the original cupcake cars. They were flown out from California to NTC to be on this show and one of the network morning shows (Today IIRC). When Letterman crashed the car he significantly damaged it and was very lucky that he wasn't injured. They were in the audience at the theater and were freaking out when it happened. He also nearly rolled it and came close to driving off the stage. FWIW they didn't sell any through the catalog which to them was a good thing - they didn't really want some rich rando wrecking one and suing them. You could get the plans from them for free, and they were not very hard to build. Making the top look good was the hard part. The cars also showed up in the Simpsons episode where Homer went to Burning Man
Video game sales in 2009 - $25 Billion. Video game sales in 2022 - ~$347 Billion. An interesting comparison to make. Also cool to finally see this full segment. I've seen the clip pop up a few times, like in the final episode when the Foo Fighters are playing Everlong and they have the compilation going over it.
HA HA..I'm dying. I saw this when it aired but haven't since and forgot how insane it was. Paul's music made the cupcake ride even slightly epic even though Dave was just causing passive-aggressive destruction. I always liked that lady, she was gentle and professional then would laugh hilariously every time Dave mocked her new toys.
@@paulrobertson8369 Yeah! It took me a bit but on the third watch I recognized that song too! Hilarious. Paul sneaky with the music framed by the funniest song.
Waaah! I never got such fun toys as a kid. This was so much fun to watch, especially Dave and that speedy cupcake car. What a great idea!! And thanks for being honest with your opinions, Dave (rather than being good). That kitty is definitely a little bit creepy.
Dave you are the mad mag. Alfred e Newman come to life or don DON MARTIN from the very funny mad magazine 25 cents cheap guy , DAVE I don’t no if you see this but I think you know what I mean.

And that’s why he will always be the best.
My God, this is just delightful chaos.
Oooh thank you! Y'all are the best for getting this one uploaded!!
"The cupcake is out of control!"
I always loved these Christmas toy segments.
9:30 - It comes with a helmet that reads “a$$hole.”
That cupcake bit reminded me of Tim the Toolman Taylor driving the tank! 🤣
Paul and the band playing "Driver's Seat" by Sniff 'N' The Tears while Dave cruises around in a cupcake cart. Perfection.
Brilliant! The genius of Mr. Letterman! I laughed so hard I cried watching him drive that cupcake car into the Christmas tree!
The segment made my day 😂
You know that the holidays are upon us when you see Dave running into a Christmas tree while riding something.
How did I miss this episode? I'm dying laughing🤣 what a treat!
Honestly nobody can come close to Dave , he's a all time best talk show and also that hat was pimpin 😂😂😂
Omg. I missed that one the first time around, but I’m laughing my ass off now! 🤣🤣🤣

That's what brought me here. Came here after watching the final episode, and I'm very glad I did.
So glad i can watch Dave again on here and pretend he still does his thing on the telly
“….From RadioShack…” 😂 no longer in business!
I thought the same thing! 🤣

Paul makes incredible easter egg song choices...sounded like Driver's Seat for the cupcake car!

“We’re not that far from doing with with Humans.” Its twice as funny he said this considering Hatsune Miku made her USA debut ON Letterman! Lmao

Guffawing my ass off, seeing Dave in that Cupcake Car.
Hilarious
6:41 Meow!
Talking about hamsters: do you know what the difference between a hamster and a gerbil is? Well, the gerbil has a little bit more dark meat.
Nice
How do i request a video?
Read the description:)
The electronic cat is a little creepy.
I prefer my real cats!
These cats are designed for people who suffer from Alz/Dementia.

The mechanic cat is for people with Alz/Dementia. Kids wouldn’t want this cat.🐈

Christianity is the grift that keeps on grifting.
I think this is the result of commercialism rather than Christianity.
