    I have my home decorated for peace and comfort and items remenicent of His love and presence. They are not worshipped but a place to remind us of His presence. He lived in a Jewish home. We have Judaica as his parents would have had but only He is worshipped. 🙏

    Wow,, this is so beautifully said, I did not even thought about these things.. I invite people from church for lunch , after church every Sunday. We have such a blessed times sharing,, we have missionaries and pastors from Europe too. And they share about the mission over seas. It’s a wonderful time together, and yes I enjoy setting the table with nice dishes, I do have plants and paintings and pictures and other dust collectors 🤷‍♀️😃
    But we enjoy it so much to have fellowship with other Christian people. And I am so blessed with flowers, I get so many flowers from my guests.. So,, sisters,, if you love flowers invite people over😃🙌✝️🙏

    • @bitrudder3792
      @bitrudder3792 Месяц назад

      @@lilythomas869 - Not sure who you're talking to but… I don't bother with those things anymore. Once you realize how deeply the pagan roots go, it's hard to go back. It's hard to even WANT to go back. I remember feeling shocked when my art teacher in high school refused to spend class time on decorating the classroom door for Christmas. It was over 35 years ago, but I remember the sentiment to this day. It had to do with celebrating Christmas every day in your heart, not just one day per year… It was a reference to the hypocrisy of most teens, who just wanted a few days off of regular classroom work to do this creative project. But as a young believer, it really hit home to me that this is something that we should rejoice in every day of the year, and it already seemed ridiculous to me to pick a pagan day to celebrate the birth of Jesus. (I was also a Latin student, hence my knowledge of Roman Saturnalia and other pagan goings-on). But it took a lot of years to discover the depth of syncretism, and how every single thing we do for those holidays has pagan roots. Combine that with the admonition to avoid even the appearance of evil, to not participate in the worship of other gods, the absence of any direction from Jesus or Paul or John etc. to celebrate these things with special days… Then there's the obvious Command to avoid worship of graven images. (and that had always bothered me when it came to our beautiful nativity scene at home).
      There is a certain evil to creating these kinds of traditions for families, for children, to get them to so strongly associate pagan practices with both their faith and some of the most special memories of childhood and family life. I think that's what keeps people from giving them up. The older I got the more I realized that the people of Is rael were just people not that different from us. When pagan practices were introduced into their culture, I'm sure it all started in a nice and innocent way for most people, and then just took over their culture - no one wanted to listen to the prophets, to change their ways. I'm sure they said the same kinds of things that people say now about how Christmas is just fine. They got to the point where child sacrifice was considered OK not unlike a widespread practice in this country and around the world.
      One of the biggest themes in all of the Bible is how important it is to just immerse ourselves in the word of God and to be doers of that word. Not just doers physically, but committed with all of our hearts. That is our protection. That is our hope and our life and our sustenance, finally made flesh for our salvation. Jesus came to save us, yes, but also to remind us to avoid the lawlessness that opens the door to evil influence.
      I had to ask myself if God was more important to me or if my attachment to all the emotions and memories and paraphernalia of these so-called "Christian" holidays was more important. So much time is expended on the expectations around these holidays. Even on a shoestring, the expense can really mount up. It has come to feel like a big distraction from what I should really be focusing on. It's not like ministry cannot happen through those things, but I think the return on investment is pretty bad. Plus it just perpetuates the expectations. At least those are fairly true statements of how Christmas is celebrated in a lot of places. But even when celebrated enough Starker sort of way, I had to ask myself… Why are we making about with all of these different pagan days??? The shepherds were NOT out In the fields by night in December and January. Not even close! We have scholars who place the birth of Jesus in spring and some place it in the fall. But it can't be in the middle of the winter by the evidence we have.
      And don't get me started Easter/Ishtar and the fertility symbols common in Easter celebrations.
      I let it all go, starting with Halloween, days associated with Saints like Patrick and valentine, Easter, New Year's eve/day, and Christmas which was the biggest hurdle. It has been interesting reconsidering my relationship with holidays in general.

      @@AmyVictoria-m8s that is so true, the trouble here is we need to understand worship. As several years ago went looking for answers and the best explanation found was exactly what you said, the example was this person explained that he went to a concert of some popular singers and as he sat there he realized that the energy around him was like worship of the mere man on the stage that could do nothing for them. Realizing that it was wrong to worship anything or person that is not GOD Father, Son, or Holy Spirit, he got up and left. A scripture written on the wall or picture can be a reminder or a help to someone searching for him. Always remember the true worship comes from inside the person.

      Why just because you want to do it doesn't mean everyone should. Let people decide for themselves. They are not sinning if they choose not to do as you think they should. We are all different. plants are necessary in our homes they can clean the air in our homes. Prayer boards in a safe home are bebeautiful you can pray for everyone.you not good if your environment is toxic it could be used against you.

      @@sweettreatsoverload4296 - I think maybe you are over reacting a little bit. The poster didn't tell you what to do.
      That said, I have been mindful of getting rid of extra stuff because I'm getting older and I don't want my energy keeping up with the Home and the stuff in it to slow me down in ministry. Whether or not to make a prayer board public is an interesting dilemma because we are called to pray in secret. But on the other hand it is a beautiful thing to have a record of all of the things God has answered for us. And if posting scripture around the house is helpful to us, that's awesome.
      I agree that plants can be healthy indoors for most people (some are sensitive to stuff in the soil but that's a special consideration, plus some give off oxygen by day versus by night and that might determine where you would want to put the plant). I have also Learned how unhealthy indoor lighting is, and it's so much worse now with LED fluorescent stuff. TV screens. Computer screens. Phone screens. Candlelight at night would definitely be a healthier choice, ideally something smokeless like beeswax which is expensive, instead of paraffin which is cheap, and it is bad to breathe. It also tends to soil ceilings. That is why many churches insist that people using the sanctuary for weddings have to use beeswax candles.
      The candle itself doesn't invite the Holy Spirit one way or another. And hopefully we don't have to lean on crutches like candles or plants indoors in order to feel close to God. In fact, if we need those crutches, we should consider that A problem to pay attention to.

    The idea that certain 'items' can fill your home with the Holy Spirit is intriguing but potentially misleading. Doesn’t focusing on physical objects risk turning faith into superstition? The Holy Spirit isn’t confined to things-it’s about the condition of our hearts, our prayers, and how we live out God’s word. Are we unintentionally encouraging people to rely on material items instead of fostering a deeper relationship with God? Maybe we should focus on spiritual practices rather than physical symbols.

    • @motivationradio-V
      @motivationradio-V Месяц назад

      You raise a valid concern-the Holy Spirit’s presence isn’t dependent on physical items but on our faith and relationship with God. However, the message here might be less about the objects themselves and more about how they serve as reminders or tools to inspire prayer, worship, and spiritual focus. For example, having a Bible or Christian artwork can create an atmosphere of reverence, but they’re not a substitute for genuine faith. The emphasis should always be on seeking God directly while using these items as aids to deepen our connection with Him.

    • @bitrudder3792
      @bitrudder3792 Месяц назад

      I agree. I think it's probably important to get rid of stuff in one's house that is ungodly. The demonic likes to break rules and considers certain kinds of objects as permission to move in and will hang out until kicked out and the object removed. They're like squatters.
      The Bible has almost nothing to say about home decor. It's mainly about what NOT to do.
      Through indoctrination and perhaps natural inclination to put barriers between us and our Creator, some people are just very attracted to "holy" objects and images and symbols. I had to shake my head at the part about symbols of communion and fellowship. Just invite the people over and fellowship with them and share communion with them. The objects are incidental to that.

      We are physical beings made by God. We feel beauty and ugliness. I was a non Christian and was invited to my Pastors house. I wanted what they had! The house was spotless, warm and inviting! I felt a peace and cleanliness I had never felt. I got saved and I now am working on creating a safe haven for me and others. I know the Holy Ghost is a spirit but my Pastors house was a testimonial of a life with order. I grew up with disorder and a filthy messy home. God can clean us up.

      @@kimsnyder1721 - I love your testimony. Broken people have trouble keeping their living spaces in order quite often. Trauma does that, and there is so much trauma in life. Thankfully, Jesus can heal us, in so many ways. There is something beautiful about lives lived decently and in order. It's not a guarantee of godliness, but anyone who adopt the principal is going to benefit one way or another. That's because God's ways are good ways.

    The idea that certain 'items' can fill your home with the Holy Spirit feels a bit materialistic and potentially misleading. The Holy Spirit isn’t dependent on physical objects; it’s about faith, prayer, and a heart devoted to God. Are we oversimplifying spiritual presence by implying it can be enhanced by specific items? Maybe instead of focusing on things, we should encourage practices like prayer, worship, and acts of kindness as the true ways to invite the Holy Spirit into our homes.

    • @motivationradio-V
      @motivationradio-V Месяц назад +2

      You bring up a great point-the Holy Spirit isn’t confined to physical objects, and true spiritual presence comes from our relationship with God. The mention of 'items' could be seen more as symbols or reminders that help us focus our hearts and minds on God. For example, a Bible or worship music can inspire prayer and reflection, but they are tools, not the source of the Spirit. It’s important to emphasize that the Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts and homes through faith and devotion, not through the things we own.

    I like C.S. Lewis but this is false according to the bible. Isaiah 42:8 " I am the LORD, that is MY name; And my glory I will not give to another, Nor my praise to carved images". Ephesians 1:13 " In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation in whom also , having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise". The Holy Spirit is in us at the moment of salvation. We don't need to hang up anything to invite the Holy Spirit in our homes. He is with us everywhere we are. I have scriptures in my home and my church as well but not because they have power, but because they scriptures to read and decorate with. That doesn't bring any power or bring in the Holy Spirit. Study this out for yourself. I did. I am a pastor. And am very careful to rightly divide the scriptures. So you are more than welcome to show me in scripture only, where it says that any of this is true. Without rudeness of coarse. I am commenting on this cause I care and don't want people to be misled or deceived. Deuteronomy 11: 16 " Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them". May God bless you and keep you.
