- In this video, I dive deep into my experience after a month of using the Brembo brake lever with master cylinder and clutch lever on my TVS Apache 200 4V BS4. If you’re considering upgrading your bike’s braking and clutch setup with this popular aftermarket product, you’ll want to watch this review first. I’ll be covering everything from installation to the day-to-day usability of this kit, along with some important considerations that might influence your decision.
1. Is the Brembo Master Cylinder Really Worth It? Let’s get straight to the point: I didn’t find anything particularly special about the Brembo master cylinder. After a month of regular riding, I’ve noticed that it performs on par with the stock master cylinder that comes with the Apache 200 4V BS4. While Brembo is a big name in the industry, offering high-performance components often found on high-end sports bikes, in this case, the braking performance was very similar to what you would get with the stock unit. Whether you’re cruising on city streets or pushing your bike on a spirited ride, the Brembo master cylinder does the job, but so does the stock one. So, if you’re upgrading purely for performance, this might not be the game-changer you’re looking for.
2. No Mirror Mounting Slot - A Dealbreaker? Another point that might be a dealbreaker for some riders is the absence of a mirror mounting slot on the Brembo master cylinder. Unlike the stock setup, which has a convenient slot for your mirrors, the Brembo unit requires you to get a bit creative. This means you’ll need to invest in a set of handlebar-end mirrors, which not only adds to the cost but also requires additional installation effort. I’ve opted for handlebar-end mirrors myself, and while they look great and offer a unique aesthetic, it’s something to consider if you’re looking for a straightforward replacement.
3. Lack of Maintenance Kit - A Long-Term Concern? One thing that caught me off guard was the absence of a maintenance or repair kit with the Brembo brake lever and master cylinder. Most bike manufacturers include a master cylinder repair kit, allowing you to maintain and service the unit as needed. However, with the Brembo kit, if anything goes wrong or if the master cylinder gets damaged, you’re looking at a full replacement, which can be both costly and inconvenient. For those who plan to keep their bike for a long time, this lack of a repair kit might be a significant drawback.
4. Universal Fitment - Handle with Care The Brembo kit is designed to be universal, meaning it’s not specifically tailored to the Apache 200 4V BS4 or any other particular bike model. This universality means that while it can be made to fit many different bikes, the installation process requires extra care, especially when it comes to setting up the clutch lever. It’s not a simple plug-and-play affair; you’ll need to spend some time adjusting everything to ensure smooth operation. I walk you through some of the challenges I faced during the installation and share tips on how to get it just right.
5. Brake Fluid Bleeding - Twice is Nice Finally, an important tip that I’ve learned from my experience: After the initial installation of the Brembo master cylinder, it’s crucial to bleed the brake fluid once. However, don’t stop there. After riding around 50 km, I highly recommend bleeding the brake fluid again. I found that doing this ensures that any air bubbles that might have been trapped during the first bleed are completely removed, leading to a more consistent and reliable braking performance.
Overall, while the Brembo brake lever and master cylinder with clutch lever look great and carry the prestige of the Brembo brand, they come with a few caveats. In this video, I share my honest thoughts, so you can decide if this upgrade is worth it for your ride. @@fisabilillah786 yeah, picture is clear, break light or connection is compromised somehow, somewhere. if you have a multimeter then you will be able to confirm that yes, this is where the problem is.
Next, it may difficult, but you have to find the exact area.
