Yes but no ones going to randomly throw it out, it’s still a massive one hitter that carries ultra tier damage, so you can not only combo into it, but because it’s a giant fireball I.e it mobile, merely connecting a jab will open them up to ryu’s fireball. So in the end having tier levels for a video game still is unfair but at least a v-trigger II can give weaker characters some advantage

I am very pleased with it. There were quite a few people saying this or that v-trigger is bad, but seeing them in action helps show how great they can be when used properly.

Urien's VT2 is FIREEEEE. They gotta draft this man into the NFL, cause them tackles! Though not as mixup heavy, I think this is a great and useful alternative to the Aegis Reflector, it's much more straightforward, looks hype, and still allows for crazy damage and long combos. I feel like we'll see a lot of use outta this one. Amazing job, Capcom!
Yeah there are some MUs where I think it might be useful like Abigail and Guile.
Idk, Urien has always just been decent without his Aegis setups, and this looks similar to his Super Art alternatives from SF3
It gives him 3s style tackle loops though. i guess it's a trade-off depending on the matchup. Unlike the zeku v-trigger, oof
Tbh I felt like it's a lot more even amongst them, thus equally valid choices then the supers in third strike. Like, there was absolutely NO reason use Temporal Thunder, and still little to use Tyrant Slaughter.

Such a great video. Had to log in to give credit to excellent work by Capcom. When they f-up they hear it from everyone, we should also let them know when they do something right. These new v triggers are wild. And I think this video was top notch, very informative, and most importantly, hype building. Can't wait for AE

can use a medium or ex shoryuken to anti-air, then follow it up with this V trigger 2 shoryuken, then maybe use another shoryuken after landing for an extreme anti-air punish :D
As long as you can combo into it (not just in the activation) then at least it will add damage to combos. Its a bit boring though. Was hoping for more versatility.

usually that would result in the opponent receiving that weird reset back to standing type of launch that ends any combo, but I guess they changed that now, so more combo variety in general for the boy!

Clearly the double flash should be standard and the VT2 Ex should be a double flash that shoots a boom which juggles after the double flash and allows for a follow up double flash
I initially saw some of the new V-Triggers and thought they weren’t gonna be useful but this video did a really good job on showing the utility of each V-Trigger. Nice job, Capcom!

How is stealing meter bad? There are so many characters that depend on EX moves for their gameplan and Juri can take that away with her new VT2.

You have to be up close for it to do anything, and Juri's pressure game is pretty weak.
This thing just doesn't add up. Her turn ends fast, and due to her charge mechanic, she needs to retreat to regain her resources to maintain any pressure. Which means she's not in range for this to do anything.
This thing really doesn't feel well thought out. If she had a plus on block EX move, it'd make some sense, but since she doesn't, it's just... what and why?
Young Zeku is grateful for the antiair but cannot stop wondering that the other characters got a bit more...

These all seem really strong but giefs vt2 is the strongest imo, certainly way stronger than his vt1 and his comeback factor is gonna be even more ridiculous than it already is when he gets you in the vortex

are you blind?? 1:20 look closely, slow down video video, if you can not follow animation(youtube actually has that setting).. it's the same animation which was in previous games, he just does not travel that far, it even has it's small step startup, but he does not travel whole step forward now and then kick. that was too fucking slow and was almost unusable, now it'll be move which people will actually use..

Other than that, it doesn't seem that different to the bomb, it grants you a juggle just the same.
Yeah, kind of wondering what the circumstances would be to choose VT2 over VT1. Bombs have a delay but you can throw two. Shuriken doesn't look super useful for threat like the bombs are, and both do basically the same thing for combos.
But do you see the damage on that though?....

He was kidnapped by a Chinese Triad as a child. They made children soak their hands in deadly poisons to the point where if they touched anyone they'd die. They were used for assassination purposes. His backstory is pretty cool despite him being the comedy villain character.

After she activates her vt2 she performs a kick that pulls the opponent in. I think that's good as a combo extension, and it also drains ex gauge.
Seithr Esm I see that, but I feel the combo extension potential is far greater with FSE. Along with the fact that she will be able to get it twice it feels like FSE is more powerful.

Why is Ryu’s Donkey Kick essentially his st.mk but with a higher angle? He doesn’t step into it to give it power? What the hell Capcom?

that's why they changed it, just think about it. now Ryu will have verstile tool, which he'll be able to use at certain ranges, not just as combo ender. I also disliked it when I first saw it, but it was LK version I think, because now what I saw, he makes small step forward actually, before doying it.
but as verstilit goes, this is very, very reasonable change.
anyway, you can writhe this on "Capcom sucks" meme, but this game really is the one of the best 3d animated ones.

it’s a high edge kick
Just going off martial arts experience here, but the SFV animation looks much more believable than the SF3 one. Ryu would probably fall over from the impact with his form in SF3, due to leaning over at a 90 degree angle and the way he positions his arms, as well as the curvature of the kicking leg. In SFV, Ryu is much more upright, and brings his leg straight up before kicking (coils for power, better for balance, more energy efficient). He has the step in both games, but the SFV one is smaller and more practical. The SF3 one looks rad and fits in with the style of that game, but I don't see anything actually wrong with the SFV one. Just another example of martial arts animations having an inverse relationship with being true to real life and looking good on-screen.
It's called Donkey kick because of how much you turn to do the kick. Now it's a very puny looking side kick.
After I saw Juri's v-trigger 2 in action, my disappointment was immeasurable and my day became ruined. At the very least, Ed's new v-trigger looks insanely good and fun. That alone will knock him up a few tiers I bet.

19HajimeSaitou91 I disconnected from the servers at stage 97 but luckily enough I was able to beat Nash and chun li they gave me a lot of trouble before but ryu was pretty easy I had close to full health and attack 3 so I got lucky got the fight money and xp it let me sign bak in and claim the reward at the end of it so at least it doesn't mess up your run if you disconnected from the servers

The opponent gains meter from being hit, which Juri just steals back right away getting more meter. At most she can steal two bars in a single activation.
fianle I just feels like it should maybe stop their meter gain as well. Also does throwing them still take the meter?
Stopping the meter gain isn't as good as letting them still get meter and allowing Juri to absorb it. She literally gets 1.5-2x as much meter as long as she's close to them and there's meter to absorb.
Throwing them would stop the absorption most likely. Throwing, being in the air, either character knocked down, or critical art animation stops the drain.

IDEA: La base jugable de street fighter, es la misma que hace 27 años. Eso es bueno, pero hay gente que lleva 27 años jugando y prácticamente imposible o muy dificil para que los novatos puedan competir. Para poder darle paso a las nuevas generaciones deberíais crear dos ligas. la liga "Pro" en la que jueguen todos los jugadores que actualmente juegan a SFV con las mismas reglas. Y luego crear la liga "Amateur" en la que los combos se ejecuten de una forma similar a la de Marvel vs Capcom o incluso más fácilmente, que tocando varias veces el mismo botón de patada, se ejecute un combo de patada. La gente dirá que estoy loco, pero así los novatos podrán disfrutar esta OBRA MAESTRA. Con el tiempo, muchos novatos de la liga amateur pasarán a la liga Pro. Soy gran seguidor de Capcom y este comentario lo hago para daros una idea la cual, podáis rentabilizar. Gracias por vuestro trabajo!

I think Kolin's is a straight upgrade. The only reason I can think where I would prefer VT1 is versus Guile to get rid of multiple booms, when it comes to punishing single fireballs I think the faster vanity step will be better and the added neutral range is a bonus for her already strong hp and b.hk

People always want old animations but complain when they reuse things. The kick looks fine. Honestly it look less predictable which is good for ryu.

Looks like Ken's V trigger can't anti-air and barely even trade the guy playing can't even pull it off 1:48 - 1:53 . Are they going to update this before Arcade edition release are is this intentional?
Why does he need his V-Trigger to be a good anti-air when he already has good anti-air options with DP? It's more of a combo extension than anything.
Use his medium DP... you know, the one that's invincible to air attacks... It's definitely intentional. The mantra of the game is that every move has a purpose and they change things that aren't supposed to be used for it. Like AA jabs being removed. You're supposed to commit to what you do and if you do the wrong thing, you eat the consequences. That's why there are crush counters after blocked DP's, no more back jump os, etc.

He wanted to show off that it didn't really function as an Anti-Air. It looks like a DP but it doesn't work like one. That's what I believe anyway.
I think there should also be a second V-Reversal and V-Skill for each character.

It doesn't negate the drain. It gives something for Juri to actually drain which increases the rate of her own ex bar.

IDEA: The playable base of street fighter, is the same as 27 years ago. That's good, but there are people who have been playing for 27 years and it's practically impossible or very difficult for newbies to compete. In order to make way for new generations you should create two leagues. the "Pro" league in which all the players currently playing SFV play with the same rules. And then create the "Amateur" league in which the combos are executed in a similar way to Marvel vs Capcom or even more easily, that by playing the same kick button several times, a kick combo is executed. People will say that I am crazy, but so newbies can enjoy this MASTERPIECE. Over time, many amateur league rookies will go to the Pro League. I am a great follower of Capcom and this comment I do to give you an idea which, you can make profitable. Thanks for your work!

Jury's VT 1 has combo/mixup potential, this one is about resources. but IMHO this V trigger will depend on how Jury is changed in Season 3.

Emphasis on the "Na" part, too. Not the second syllable. But yeah. The Shi sound is short and clipped.
