Lyrics:
It's where I drank my first beer
It's where I found Jesus
Where I wrecked my first car
I tore it all to pieces
I learned the path to heaven
Is full of sinners and believers
Learned that happiness on earth
Ain't just for high achievers
I've learned I've come to know
There's life at both ends
Of that red dirt road

ME !
This is real country.I'm from Detroit and you don't know shit about country music.
Me
Me
Me to
People can say whatever they want about Country music; Country and Christian music has helped me become a new and better me.
Me too brother ❤
Amen Brother.. real country music Forever
Indeed brother, indeed.
Good for you! And we are all here for you if you need us just like I am sure you would here for me if I stumbled.
Every time I try to sing this song I start to cry
"Its where I drank my first beer.
Its where I found Jesus.
Where i wrecked my car, I tore it all to pieces.
I learned the path to heaven is full of sinners and believers.
I learned that happiness on Earth ain't just for high achievers."
If that doesn't hit you deep in the feelings, then i don't know what will.
I was raised on Rural Route 2......in East Texas. Road the yellow dog to school until I bought my first truck at 16. It was all blacktop and grey dirt roads. It was were I drank my first beer, experienced my first kiss, and was looking for Jesus............this is so true. Jesus found me later......AMEN!!!! Pray that the future generations will experience this FREEDOM that daddy, patron of the greatest generation gave us. Thanks to Jesus and Dad.
Thanks for your sincere compliment and love towards my music, Covid19 has shaped us all, we have you to be most thankful for❤️🎸🙏
Possibly one of the best country songs ever. Certainly never be forgotten.
Have to agree😊

I think of this song often. Especially the part about finding Jesus. Best person WHO ever let me find HIM!!! Great song. I can just imagine Mary picking blackberries.😊
Mary picking blackberries I love it .
This song changed my life. Helped me get off drugs this one song. This is forever the greatest country song ever
Kenny - hope you're still doing well. It was so nice to read your post. God bless you ♡
How?
@@banderson7934 I’m guessing it helped Kenny C. see his own life for the value it has and the true purpose that is rooted in his blessed past. Roots run deep and hold up the tree.
Keep on truckin’, Kenny.
@@banderson7934 this may sound like a shocker to you but sometimes little things motivate people and sometime that motivation in the right person can make a real change. I got through being homeless and traveling with a circus to get off the streets by listening to mgk. Now I’m through all that but I ain’t forgot the music the words I related to.
He had an NDE - GOD BLESS!
Why can't country be like this again?
Damn i wish it would be like this again.
actual meaning to this style of country music.. brings back alot of memories hearing oldies

Years ago RONNIE DUNN was tryin to become a preacher, but when the heads of church found out he was singing on stage in bars at night, they gave him 2 choices...sing or preach, but you cant do both.If ANY place needed the word of Jesus to be spread you think it would be a bar...but the church didnt see it that way...Anyhow you can guess what happened..Lol ! Thank GOD this man stuck to music and met KIX BROOKS..MY FAV duo of all time !
Brooks & Dunn are the best duo band ever
Man listening to this song reminds me so much of our country we are losing. This is a nostalgic song, and this way of life is quickly falling apart. I miss it
You may hate country but you can't deny a great song performed by great musicians. That's this! :)
Amen
You're right. The show The Voice brought me here. I had to look up the original singers. Great song.

This song is rock. 4/4 time, minor key, cymbal splashes ... The only thing country is the twangy vocal.
It's so sweet you are sharing your heart and story like this.
What a great song. We should cherish these guys because artists don't write songs like this anymore💯💯💯
French fry montana 😂
When people stop buying crap music they will stop making it. They are supplying a demand... Apparently this generation loves 💩 music. I miss the old days! 😢
A time when Jesus was said in music I love it
Good songs never die. 2023 hasn't aged a bit. Was music to my ears then and still hits a special place in my heart now.

My Dad's favorite band. Listening while at my hotel room. I still have my Dad. Appreciated country music. See you Dad, when I get back. Love you so much. ❤
I love that you mentioned your dad! We only have them for a short time, enjoy every minute! ❤
I grew up on Brooks and Dunn and George Strait. I miss those good days.

This song always humbles me, brings me back to center
It should. Did they say what they said and show what they showed at 2:05 come on man
It’s where I drank my first beer, it’s where I found Jesus.. love it
Possibly the greatest song of all time
It's a shame that today's country music isn't like this anymore
My girl and I were just talking about this very same thing yesterday. Country music has totally lost its soul 😢
@@jozephvoorheez2760 so true
Yep, everything's incorporating rap into it these days, even country. I don't understand the allure of such shitty music (rap !!), but it's taken hold and taking over.
I HATE it !!
@@csrboltfan2643 you mean gutter music? Cuz that’s what rap music is! Now when I wanna listen to great country music I just turn on the old school. Which is fine by me!
Cody Johnson, Darius Rucker are good. Still a few out there, but some of it is utterly terrible.

I reckon it's funny how folks look for words of wisdom from Shakespeare and other so called literary geniuses and that's fine, I ain't judging, but I gotta say I've learned more about putting life's events in some sort of order from listening to Country Music. This song is pure lyrical genius.
i read the bible for words of wisdom
Oh so true...
Mud Wiser AGREED!!! I'm studying shakespeare in school and I hate it country music has gave me more life lessons than any other things
Right. It's done whole to me and I'm at my highest motivational mood while listening to country.
Mud Wiser your observation rings true for me..
This is one of those songs that no matter how many times I hear it I get goosebumps every time.
Amen Brother! Goosebumps is where the magic and euphoria is. This song rings that bell every time!
My sister and I are now 27 and 28. This song came out when we were in the fourth grade. We were in love with it then and we still are to this day. It is TIMELESS. Even though country is pretty far down on our list of go-to music, songs like this are still just as relevant and important to us. This was such a great era of country music!
How are you doing today Katie?
I freakin love this song. One of my favs of all times
Me too sista
2010 and this is still one of my all time favorites...real country hardly exists anymore and its sad

This song always lifts my spirit.
Please Bring it Back!!
Joined basic when I was 18 and haven't been back home to stay since, but this song always brings me back home, back when my smile wasn't fake and all my friends were different races with goals. Now everything is falling apart and this song is my escape. That Red Georgia dirt will never leave me ❤

A song about life. Trix Brooks wrote this song in one whole night.
I Love this song
This song hits home so much. I really enjoy it.
Thank you Brooks and Dunn for making it part of my life.
This song is my childhood. i remember when i was four years old, i was sitting with my father, and i was helping him build the top floor to our house. I had my little Home Depot hammer, and i was helping him put nails into the floor, and then this song came onto the big black radio we had, and my whole life up untill a year ago i could not remember what song this was, and the day i found it, it made me so happy.
Beautiful music. I'm now in the autumn of my years, and this song is like many others that serve as mile markers on my life's journey..... somewhere along my own red dirt road.
There will never be anyone like these guys! They were some of the best artists and still are... I
Haven't listened to this song in a long while and I still know the words. This is real country music!👍

Never forget your red dirt road. It will always take you back home.
this song is a staple of early 2000s and late 1990s country really wish country would have stuck to the path this one took because it sounds amazing on all levels vocals and instrument diffidently has the potential to be one of the best country songs of the area
"Her daddy didnt like me much"
"Its where I first SAW Mary..."
"Ive been in out into the world I came back again. Ooh I lost Mary. Oh!! I got'er back again "
"There's life at both ends of that red dirt road."

I couldn’t tell you the first thing about country music. I’m a city boy from Detroit that likes rock n roll. BUT…I know some outlaw types like Waylon Jennings. I know Alan Jackson. And I know Brooks and Dunn. Absolutely fantastic musicians and love listening to them for the longest time.

Awesome song and a true collaboration between them both about the real life events during their youths.
I remember when this song was just making it big. I used to listen to this on the way home from soccer practice. Reminds me of a simpler time when fun was kicking the ball around after school
This is one of my favorite songs after all these years.
We all have a RED Dirt road if your grew up in the country. So many memories wrapped around my heart like a beautiful gift of life--to never open--keep it forever.
I have been a metal head all my life. I went to a Brooks and Dunn concert with my wife. Great show
This is one of my favorite Country songs. It's so uplifting but at the same time is reminiscent of ones past and good times. Bittersweet indeed
Real country.makes me think of memories of Red Dirt Roads growing up in South Georgia.i love this song.♥️
Hello Sherry.. how are you doing?

"There is life at both ends of the Red Dirt Road." JESUS is waiting to love us at at whatever point we find ourselves on this road we call "life" God Bless everyone!!
This is my favorite country song, every time I'm at work and I'm welding. I always stop welding and sing to this song. Love this song, and wish country could be like this amazing works of art again. I love this song and I always will. ~2016~
In real life I grew up on a red dirt road in the outskirts of Oklahoma this song was a song me and my mom would sing on the way to school. This song helped me a lot during middle school because I would be bullied for being different because I grew up fixing cars and climbing trees while everyone else would be doing there hair and caring how they looked. All I’d like to say is that this song helped me so much with anxiety and depression. Thank you for making this song.

An amazing picture of yesteryear!
I lived this song, for the most part, finding Jesus and walking to church. I was still young, and sadly moved away from this neck of the woods when my parents divorced, but the rest of what they sing about was yet to come later in life. I can guarantee you that there's not a better way to grow up. people like us who had RR on their mailbox know what I'm talking bout.
This is one of the songs from the soundtrack of my childhood.
God I miss those days.
I learned that happiness on Earth ain't just for high achievers wow brilliant
