    I love these blankets. I take them with me everywhere. I also use them at home to keep my many batteries topped up to stop sulfation. MPPT solar controller is all I use as they are better for cloudy days. Good video.

      Thanks for watching. Yer I have a panel on the roof of the shed to keep the van going at home. Good to hear you havent had a problem with the blankets either.

    We bought a Kings 200w some time back and it has done the job pretty well. The loops around the edge that are made for hanging it up aren't very strong but apart from that I can't complain about it. One thing we have found, even with a more expensive Allspark panel we have, is that it is really important to wipe this sort of panel down with a soft damp cloth before folding them up. If there is any dust on the surface, it can cause scuffing on the panel surface which will gradually reduce performance. There is a bit of difference in the construction between the two panels we have with the Allspark obviously being better, but for the money, the Kings is ok.

      thanks for the tip on the panels. If the hooks are the only thing to go wrong I think we can handle that. I havent had a need to use them yet.

    Too many people get caught up bagging Kings stuff, but as with your panels a lot of it is quite good. Cheers Steve

      Yer your right. They compare a $100 product with a $1000 product and say its crap. Its not a fair comparison. For my use kings fits the bill. Thanks for watching.

      Yer I don't see any reason why you would have a problem with that

    Would have liked to see the different outputs of the 2 panels with the different controllers mppt is supposed to be 30 % more efficient than the pwm good chance for you to test if that is true.

      Yer as I use a seperate controler I didnt think to compare the two. Might look at doing that another time. Might even look at getting one of those little power meter things. Thanks for watching

    UPDATE: Pretty unhappy with the 200w Kings solar blanket we bought. The
    connection on the back of the panel has come completely off and so now
    there is no output from the panels. The unit may be out of warranty but
    it really did not see a lot of use. The Allspark 130w panel we have is much
    older and still working fine so I have to say we are never likely to buy
    another Kings solar blanket.

    How many amps are people getting

    • @ontheroadwithjohn
      @ontheroadwithjohn  Год назад

      Gday I can't answer for others but my gauge moves around from about 3amp to I think 6 or 7 is the most Ive seen. Obviously it depends on the environment. I know it keeps my batteries full during the day. But I'm not using big heaps of power either. Just some lights and a freezer for the most part. But I have found it works pretty good on a cloudy day also. Thanks for watching

      @@ontheroadwithjohn thanks John for the reply.
      No worries I can get a unit for $160 but not sure if that’s to little amps to worrt

    • @ontheroadwithjohn
      @ontheroadwithjohn  Год назад

      @@tasd5673 Well Im running 2 120amp batteries and on my resent trip it held them up ok. For the money you cant go to far wrong. If you get a bigger amp panel it takes up more room. Something to consider.
