Jay was flexing on Linus by flipping that thing around haha
If linus tried that he would of dropped it twice
@@addicted2snowGFY You know he would haha
Yea Linus was being closely watched at the intel factory I’m sure lol. I could see him ripping some random card out of a “assumed off” piece of equipment and shutting down a chip line lol 😂
and then it broke still (well the cheap looking wrap)
@@bhew7409 Dude, when he said the wrap was scuffed I literally thought "well bro, you were just slinging it around like a toy" haha
Yeah I agree with Jay that Nvidia should rename their Laptop GPUs to like 3075 or 3065 etc because it would be less confusing for the customer considering that the Laptop version of the GPU is less powerful than the desktop variant. Or hell just go back to using the M labeling because that would make it easy again like it was during 9th gen. Other than that this Laptop is very good.
Or go back to putting M on the end
The naming is intentional. They don't want the regular person to know that the laptop gpus are different. They even removed the maxq branding to enshure this.
That sounds even more confusing. Is a 3065 faster then a 3060? Calling them M at the end is a much simpler way.
@@Tofuey It was an example based on what Jay said in his video, however putting the M back into the equation is not a bad idea either.
@@killersberg1 fuck Nvidia. Just another capitalistic corporation for the execs :)
I have the Maingear version of this, I was amazed at how well optimized it is. The software settings are straightforward and worked, literally the most no BS software I ever used. I was able to boost the 3080 to 165W but it thermal throttled down to 130W.
Yeah a 3080 running at 130 watt is basically a 3060...
How does Linux do? If you can, try MX Linux with the Advanced Hardware Support kernel and see how it does.
Because if it doesn't work, then fuck this laptop because I'm not running Windows 11.
@@arnox4554 should work just fine I hope
I'm in the same boat fuck Microsoft operating systems lol
I have the eluktronics 15 inch version of this. Im able to keep it at 165w by applying a bit of undervolting
watercool this shit and You will be ok :)
Origin is overpriced for what you get. Plus, buying an i9 in a laptop in general is not usually worth the $ cause of power limits/thermals.
They're all Clevo and Tongfang based, so there are multiple resellers of the same laptops. Origin usually the most expensive of the resellers for the same chassis/specs...
What others sites are you looking for prices
Eluktronics, GentechPC, Sager, ProStar, Xotic PC, XMG, CyberpowerPC, etc..
Those are the main ones that come to mind but I think there are others as well. They all resell the same Clevo or Tongfang based laptops so always worth checking multiple resellers for price differences...
I recently bought the MSi creator 17 (B11UG-239). It's an 11th gen, but very similar to this one, except for a 4K display. I am practically awed by its ability to stay as cool as it does given that all of the outer finstacks are no more than 5mm thick. The whole thing is very thin and light.
As far as ease of repairability, I'd give it a 98 out of 100. There are 15 screws to release the bottom panel. After that, four to remove the battery, one per drive, and four for the motherboard (includes the WLAN card). Then, there are 7 total for the heatpipe assembly. There are only 3 types of screws, though.
Overall, pretty darn satisfied.
This past September 2021 I got the MSI GE76 Raider 17.3" 360Hz FHD Display, Intel Core i9-11980HK, NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080, 32GB, 1TB NVMe SSD, Win10 ,Titanium Blue (11UH-053), plus an extra NVMe 2TB for storage, paid $4000 aprox, and it is a beast by itself
Just finished paying it off last month and no regrets at all, runs everything smoothly.
looks like a nice rig to me.
Ease of access of the ram, ssd, heatpipes and such is not repairability though lmao.
@@hatchet646 it's just accessibility, not much use if you can only look at the parts and not repair them
@@hatchet646 True, it's nothing compared to my M6500, where I could replace 99% of the components on the board (even though it was a beast to disassemble). Given the B11UG's thinness, I can't complain too much. At least it's better than a MacBook these days. I miss the 2008 MacBook Pro, lol.
I've got the Eluktronics version of this, and I'm amazed how much of the same software , hardware, and chasis it shares. Modified /Customized Tongfang afaik. There were minor differences (like better grammar and personal touches in default profiles from Eluktronics), but much of the same chasis and internal software was used. However the biggest difference is with mine is that Eluktronics has a watercooled option and I went with that. Backpanel is clearly different, internals different. Hybrid air/watercooling with potentially both running.
Runs great, though having a watercooling pump & fan running all the time is clearly louder than having a fan that's off. Runs fast and cool.
Thanks for mentioning the two modes. I never considered running pure efficiency, because this laptop was meant for beast mode.
Everything seems fine, just if anyone gets the LPP (watercooling) option, only use distilled water, don't use any coolant or other liquids.
I too wish these existed when I was traveling. I used to carry much heavier clevo laptops that were 10 lbs alone and I'd have 20+ lbs of electronics in a bag.
Damn, sounds like a good way to get buff😅
Which lpp model did you get? Mech or Prom? Any problems with it so far? My finger has been hovering over the order button for the mech 15 for the past week.
@@Kokochocomouchoco No significant problems. Personally got mech, as I prefer the keyboard and I have a video up unboxing it-- though I think the 17" Prom might be a good idea too.
Takes some time to configure W11 to how I liked it. Recommend emailing them to get extra goodies from bundle.
Only an unexpected personal issue that the low pump fan hum puts me to sleep like a lullaby when there's no other sound going.
Otherwise, works as I expected. Runs fast, runs (water)cool. Runs W11.
If that was 3M wrap, that would have never have happened. For the price you pay for this thing, that wrap is extremely cheap
As someone who wrapped their entire car in 3M vinyl, as well as their MBP in the same wrap - I completely agree.
Exactly! Origin must put into consideration that their customers will be toss'in & flipp'in their spec'd out gaming laptops.
I'd opt for a Levono Legion over this. Despite the weight difference.
What might be important to note for a quick comparison: The mobile 3080 ti is basically performing like a 3070 for a desktop. So it's very good, but it's not exactly going to push 240hz on ultra in most games in 1440p.
Damn so it seems about 3060 is the point where they stop being similar
280watts @ 14amp DC means voltage of ~20v. Even calculating with a 70% efficiency... on the AC side of that converter you'll see maybe 365w @ 110v so maybe 4amps.
Man, it's the 4 pound weight that blows my mind the most. About ten years ago, I was in an accident with major spinal damage. I was not allowed to pick up anything heavier than 5 pounds while I was in recovery. My laptop at the time was a 15 inch model with an entry level discrete GPU, and I was not allowed to move it. This would've been a godsend for the medically mandated couch potato that I was for the rest of that year.
Bro get a itx PC to load some ancient pong and maybe doom if you have more than 1 mb of data
Checking the website shows that this build is somewhere north of $3.5k USD. I'm not sure why I would spend that on a notebook, but I'm sure that it has its use case. Lovely tech though that's for sure. That's for the vid Jay & team.
Yeah I checked with the specs it was more than 3.5k. At that point it better be better than most desktops.
@@opetyr I tried to build one with as good if not slightly better specs than my own build and I ended up at 4.1k. Honestly if it performs well enough i personally think it'd be worth it.
North of $3K and no wifi 6 network. That's plain dissappointing
@@mrcharlied4228 WOW. I am honestly fucking SHOCKED.
Literally EVERY gaming lappy I've looked at in the past 1-2 years has had either an Intel AX200/AX210 or the Killer equivalent in there.
Damn, Origin. /smfh
@@2thumbsup247 Did you even watch the video? This is comparable to a 12600/12700k + 3070/ti. While I can get a 12700/12900k + 3080 for around 3k on desktop.
that ifixit ad never gets old
For fun I built an i9 laptop. It cost roughly 4200 before shipping. I went through the on-board wifi card and it only does b/g/n. Not ac or ax. For that price you should be getting 802.11ax which is wi-fi 6. No reason to be so far behind network wise unless you just do that to make more money... I digress.
Would love to see someone make a true desktop replacement laptop. Remove the battery and just use all that space for thermal stuff.
I would love to see that I prefer laptops over desktops just for space and easy to put up or move around.
Would totally be into that. I don’t want to travel with my laptop, but imagine using the battery space for increased specs. It’s a brilliant idea so I can toss the laptop in a drawer when finished…you can’t do that with a pc and ditto display.
Prior to GeForce 10 series, NVIDIA used an M denotation on their mobile GPUs. I.e. One of my old Laptops had a GTX 750M. Others had a 980M. In my opinion they should bring back the M.
I feel like for the people who need this, these laptops are great, but it’s hard to see why to buy since its 12900h and 3080 ti preforms almost exactly she same as my base 12600k and a overclocked 3060ti since it’s a ftw3 ultra card
It's hard to see why people would buy a laptop instead of a desktop? Have you tried carrying your desktop around in a backpack?
hard lol at Jay playing the video to test the sound where his intro is "we're not the channel who show you stuff you can't afford and don't need" in the review for a laptop a tiny percentage of viewers either need nor can afford...
Jay if you read this love ya man and love ALL the videos, this isn't a criticism just a lol moment :)
I'm glad you said something about the Apple speakers. I bought a 14" MacBook Pro for audio production and DUDE the speakers are AWESOME. Deep, rich sound, plenty of volume; so good I could do a rough track mix on them. Would love to see that become the industry standard
Apple macbook pro always had speakers that obliterate pc laptop speakers.
I don't know how they do it, but even on my old macbook pro 2010 15" , the sound is much better than most recent laptop or even my alienware m17r4.
And even on my ipad pro (the very first one) the sound is awesome !
I think gaming laptop manufacturers know most people are using headsets but youre right there is no excuse to not put a good speaker system in there especially considering the price.
I think Maingear makes the exact same laptop under their brand. Same Control Center and everything. I know this because I bought one from Microcenter recently.
The intro for sponser iFix-it is actually funny.
@2:10 i was waiting for him to channel is inner Linus, and you know he's got room for a 100% scale Linus in there.
You forgot about the webcam. Usually its crap on all laptops
And i dont understand why they dont move that trackpad to the right specially on gaming laptops
I like when laptops say they have a 3080 ti or whatever like that's impressive....yet it's more like a 3070 desktop GPU, gotta get that lying (ahem "marketing") in
Timespy graphics seems pretty low for the RTX 3080ti, I can get just over 13,000 on time with the RTX 3080 in my 16" Legion 7
Hey jay this was likely a lower wattage limit 3080ti due to the slim nature of this laptop, hence the “s” in the name. The 3080ti at the full 170 watts performs basically the same as a desktop 3070. Also I’m not sure what you mean when you keep saying that these big 12th gen gaming laptops are good for battery life because every review any every one I have seen is pretty bad hen it comes to battery life, especially compared to ryzen gaming laptops.
yeah, compared to amd , intel chips draw a lot more power ...
This appears to be basically the same laptop as the Maingear Vector 2 Pro, but I couldn't find a video of anyone taking one apart (I wanted to see if there was room for an additional m.2 drive or even a 2.5" drive). This was incredibly helpful.
Ouch, 16 Gigs of ram and 512 Gigs of storage for $3,000? You can build a monster of a desktop for that and get way more. Come on Jay, we all are not rich like you.
Your comment around 11m about "where we were to where we are" is exactly my experience. I have a Geforce GTX970 which is also about 6 years old. My new AMD Ryzen 7 5700G has, more or less, the same gfx power. Blew me away when I first tried it!
i finally bought the ifix it pro kit from austria.. on a holiday trip . havent open it but i am glad i did
Brand new spec out Origin laptop and the wrap started to peel up from the continuous toss & flips...
Jay response: "Wear & tear, it happens!"
Me responding: "Wait What?!"
24:22 lol 😂 Jay video on the laptop talking about people bombarding you with stuff you can’t afford 😂 😆 😝 well played and great to see Phil left this in 🥰🤯👍
"Notebook batteries have gotten bigger again..." My old HP Elitebook 8650w: hold my power supply
When pulling the chassis apart I literally said "spudger" at the same time Jay did lol.
That's almost as fast as my overclocked 2080Super desktop. Noice to see laptops improving as much as they are with the ever increasing power requirements these days.
Michael Bay would be jealous of that intro 🤣🤣🤣
16:00: Only for short boost tough, when it would reach high temps it would start trotling heavy...
With the P and E Cores, it reminds me a little bit of the old days with the "Boost"-Button on the case.
If that even did something I don't know 😅
"If that even did something I don't know 😅"
It did - in general it throttled the CPU for compatibility reasons.
still one of the best intro ad spot ever thanx for the giggles
btw you done did it .. lol
For laptop testing have you ever thought about doing a second test with a laptop cooling pad. I bet your scores would increase. Most people that use laptops have these as placing a laptop on your lap will block the vents causing overheating.
Jay should voice Donald Duck LOL, he would be perfect!
I just entry level and midrange laptops were also pushed by manufacturers as we only ever get the OTT models which cost a half decent car 🤯🤬
With the exception of the video card, that thing is far more powerful than my PC (i7-8700k) - mindblowing how thin it is considering the components
Which means for gaming, that your PC is significantly more powerful.
A 3080ti desktop would still be the bottleneck for basically every game not Microsoft flight sim for the CPU in the laptop. It's the botttleneck to my 12600k currently.
@@deathhimself1653 Maybe, but I find with games like BF2042, I'll get major input lag at times because my CPU is hitting 100%, whereas the GPU is hitting maybe the upper 80s-low 90s - I'll have to see next time I play
I think the next major upgrades for me will be the CPU to a 13-Gen Intel i9, large capacity NVME SSDs and and a 4090Ti whenever that drops (and my pockets can afford them lol)
I have the "last" gen of this laptop by maingear. I replaced the thermal paste with Kryonaut and it helped a lot with noise/ temps. otherwise no issues!
I feel that if I need this much power in a laptop, they need to make a laptop with a 24" 4k display. Should be plenty of room for more cooling and might get me to willingly leave my dual 28" desktop behind for a few hours.
At 24" its not really portable or a laptop
Imagine walking around with a flipping 24 inch laptop in your bag, I already have problems fitting my 17 inch laptop in
@@cckiller4378 - No worse than a large folio, really. It would be built to laptop standards, saving a bit on the weight. When I started lugging around computers to clients, they had these things called "lunchbox" portable computers. THOSE were terrible to to lug around.
Maybe 21" would be more reasonable
That "CPU Temperature High" message reminded me of the "Danger to Manifold" scene.
“CPU Temperature High”
*Bottom panel starts sparking from friction.*
I recognize a TongFang chassis when I see one.
I think you read output amps, input amps should be around 3.2amps at 120 volts or about 400 watts which you could run on a inverter or whatnot. Btw awesome work love your videos.
Jay and Phil dancing after the video. Great video!
If that screwdriver is a Wowstick like the one I have, it should have come with a fairly small thing that says +Magnetize and one end, and -Demagnetize on the other. Seems that would have been useful for you in this case. I've used it several times to pick up small metal objects and it works fine. No hate on iFixit though, I have it, use it, and love it.
That wrap is a no go if it can be easily pulled up accidentally. The overall piece should be pulled back by 1/16 from the edges and that would definitely solve the issue.
I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop last year to replace my 2013 MacBook Pro. Ironically, I use it more for CAD/ work then I do for gaming. That being said, even the humble RTX-3050 packed inside handles games really well. I think the big help is the amount of thermal area in the chassis.
I wonder how much a replacement motherboard is with a 3080 Ti and 12900H soldered to it costs? Anyone buying it should get the longest extended warranty available. Laptop GPUs generally don't last anywhere as long as desktop GPUs because they cook themselves to death. Now that all of the crap is perma-welded to the motherboard, a dead GPU takes everything with it in one fell swoop.
Frankly for me. I have no faith in laptops anymore. I don’t care how much faster they get. Until companies start taking responsibility for the shit they produce. And solve the cooling issues. These will continue to have a shelf life of about two years before batteries, gpu’s, keyboard keys and other parts completely fail. The emphasis of cooling specifically should be their focus, not faster and hotter. Just my two centz worth.
I like that you just ripped the wrap/sticker off lol.
12900 *_H_* SKU indicates it's a _high power_ mobile processor. *_K_* would indicate overclocking.
This laptop is maybe twice as fast as my Desktop at least! 😰
Ok Im pausing the video at 2:13 to post my experience.
I bought min October 2021 it was a very high end build. I am typically a MSI high end gaming desktop replacement laptop. but at the time most high end laptop required dual power supplies. So I went with this. Keep in mind this really does not leave my desk so looking back, the multiple power supplies wouldn't have been an issue. I just like to have the option of it being mobile if needed.
The Three things I do not like:
1. The keyboard is not firm and gives way when pressed on.
2. The fan is LOUD and is on most the time your doing anything. To help that I got a laptop stand with a fan.
3. Audio is trash compared to my last couple gaming desktop replacements.
My personal experience with Origin was not good. Drives I received had hundreds of power cycles and thousands of hours of use already. The second drive died with in a week. RMA process to get new drive went great, After installing drive, started having boot issues where bios would not see any drives. I did testing in other system and my own trouble shooting lead me to believe the motherboard was bad. Origin had me ship the laptop back, where they tried to blame me for the drives not working, stating i left too much of the stock thermal padding on drives and I would have to pay for the repairs. I had to argue with them and state based on what they are saying it does not even sound like the tech has repeated my tests to check the motherboard. Eventually they did and finally replaced the motherboard and drives. The motherboard was completely bricking drive 2 and in many cases if a drive was installed into drive 2 slot, the bios would not see any drives and the system would not boot. Remove drive 2 and system would boot fine. Since then I have not had any issues and it performs well, just be ready for that fan noise and hot keyboard.
Here are the specs I bought. Now off to see what Jay says about this thing...

I have the same issue with this machine that I had with the Eluktronics 17. The keyboard with the arrow keys shoved in and the numberpad with a shortened 0 key and enter not being in the right location ruins the keyboard. If you can't use a numberpad without looking at it there's no purpose to having it there. The key locations are standardized and trying to find the arrow keys when they're just stuffed in shortening the shift and zero keys is unacceptable for my use. Lenovo, Dell gaming, ASUS, HP, and alienware have the right idea.
This must be hands down one of the most funny commercial break ever xD
This one I did not skipped, this one I did pay attention too, this one I played 3 times over lmao
Have you checked Eluktronics laptops? I am a big fan of the company, and recently upgraded to a Mech-17 G3 Water Cooled i9 12900 3080 ti Laptop. They have upgrade options for 64GB DDR5 and 2TB Samsung NVME Drives. They are soon releasing the G@ Water Cooler with RTX40 series cards
A month and a day late with my comment here, but thank you for putting this on my radar! The soonest I am looking to update my laptop is 8 months. Tho as per usual, the longer one can wait, sometimes the better a deal can become... Thanks for all the great content that you put out on your channel!
this looks almost exactly like an eluktronics laptop I wonder if they use the same source
Got a video idea for you - ever thought about doing a video on why laptop cooling degrades in its effectiveness so quickly? I'm now a happy owner of a desktop but my first two laptops were gaming laptops, each of which became unusable due to thermals only about a year into owning them, even with repasting every few months, cleaning out all the dust, adding thermal pads, ramping fans all the way up, etc. Running the same games with the same settings had way higher thermals (cpu especially) a year in. Went so far as to have a bag of ice that I'd put next to the intake just to maintain clock speeds, and that would only delay the inevitable throttling by 10-15 minutes. It also makes me nervous about the longevity of the steam deck. Might be difficult to test due to the time commitment but you guys are way smarter than me so I thought maybe you could figure it out. Thoughts?
"to have a bag of ice that I'd put next to the intake" do NOT do that, the bag of ice will probably create condensation on it and the water will be pulled on the motherboard, shorting something
If you ever want to test speakers bass music, look up a guy called Geoff Castellucci. He's an a capella bassist who hits truly astounding lows.
Speaking of CHONK-lappies: you should give the latest Sager/Clevo chassis a spin.
I've been using them for years, and they (as far as I know) are the progenitors of the BIG-ASS FUCKING BRICK. Every one I've owned has had a 2lb Chicony 300W brick attached to it.
Anyway, the latest model is the SAGER NP8872T-S (or Clevo PD70PNT); as with all high-end lappies right now, you can customize up to an Intel 12900H/3080Ti (mobile). They are usually the chonkiest and the best for airflow (because *chonk*) and they quite often come with a wee subwoofer (literally an inch across) within the chassis that adds not-too-bad depth to the audio.
Sager... OMG! I haven't heard of them since the 486 / Pentium 1 days! Good to know they are still in business!
It's interesting that storage is so good these days you can fit 8 terabytes One stick of nvme storage or 16tb for this laptop I barely am reaching 2/3 of 10tb hard drive
had watched this back when it came out and thought, oh... thats not bad but kinda spendy and i have no need for a laptop. fast forward, looking for a laptop, 1 year later and searching, getting frustrated. decide to search jayz channel for laptop reviews, excited about this one because it seems decent and then i go on their page and they have an 800 dollar discount on this model! needless to say, its on order and thanks to jay and the team for having a great channel with amazing reviews! looking forward to using my awesome new laptop while driving OTR! thanks Jay and crew!
The vinyl, or whatever material they used in their wrap, has waaaay to weak of an adhesive for something thats going to be handled by hand regularly.
aaah..the legendary JayTwoCents's iFixit ad. NEVER GETS old xD

My best score in timespy(basic on steam if that makes a difference) is 14472 (graphics 16501 and cpu 8530) This with a rog strix 3070Ti oc(and overclocked) and a ryzen 5600X(pbo on) at 1440p, better than 84% of all results... Kickass combo if u ask me! :D Pc ofcourse(atx midtower)
It's crazy how much more space efficient gaming notebooks have become. My AMD advantage notebook with a Ryzen 7 and 6700xt is as thick and light as some early "ultra books".
Before I spend the money they're asking for that laptop, I'd like to see some real world performance instead of benchmarks.
why not test the laptop with it plugged in? Wouldn't the performance be much better?
23:20 Donald Duck is that YOU!?
Yet Ryzen 6000 series with only real full sized cores is more power efficient compared to Intel 12th gen lol
I've got the MSI version of almost this exact spec except my MSI has the I7 12700H. The MSI doesn't make a version with then I9 and the 240hz refresh and 3080ti. The computer is a beast. It's way faster than my 1080ti desktop. I mostly got it to deejay gigs with Serato and to game in my living room instead of PC room. I like being able to game and watch TV at the same time. My laptop was just over 4K with tax and expedited shipping. Fans aren't too loud. Doesn't get too hot. No issues after 2 months. Played a gig with Serato recently and no crashes. Boots up in 12 seconds. If you're gonna spend 4 grand on a laptop Origin PC is probably not the way to go.
BTW they have desktops woth 2TB of RAM and you can have more ports.
Also one thing that I wanna do one day is have two processers and two GPUs and two of everything to have a PC double as powerful as the most powerful stuff on the market.
till this day i never skip an ifixit sponsor segment xD its too good

i had laptops in the past where temps caused major throttling in games etc so when i got my razerblade 15 i expected the same but honestly it wasn't that bad not throttling then i bought a cheap metal riser off Amazon that tilts it up off the desk and temps dropped massively! now my gpu will be 60's when gaming and cpu in the 70's very respectable for a laptop with zero undervolts or underclocks etc. I will always have a huge preference for desktops they obviously can perform on another level but gaming laptops have come a long way in quite a short space of time and it's good to see. ps. that cooling system is very similar to the one in my blade 15 it works a treat and i know what you mean about the audio my iphone 13 pro audio is honestly amazing considering it's a phone.
The gpu wattage? something Ive learned to look at when it comes to performance in laptops. You can have a lower tier gpu outperform a better one depending on the power the system allows the gpu to draw. edit: Uh thats neat, that is so nice being able to adjust the power limit by so much.
The FAA rule is 100 watts per battery, but no limit on number of batteries. So you can just shrink wrap each cell independently and have plugs to separate them. Then legally you can make it any size with each cell being up to 100 watts. This would mean the laptop here having 4 cells would be able to have up to a 400 watt hour battery. (Laws are dumb)
All that power and it's less than an inch thick? I love the direction tech is going
All I can say is regardless of the cpu or GPU you get in a laptop in the past year or looking at buying one in the near future, you’re going to get yourself a portable powerhouse for gaming, production or office tasks etc which is great to see. The $$$ value on modern laptops is amazing (regardless of their reduced performance to their desktop equivalent counterparts) and will last you for, I feel, longer than laptops of old 🥰😇🤩👍
As long as build quality is good, and cooling. For longevity.
Jay could do a custom paint job that would look sick, instead of just black.
I remember when PC's where office beige and boring, now it's office black and getting boring🥱
My Acer predator with a RTX 2060 has been out of date….but it works perfectly
Not sure how rugged the wrap is - seems to not be too attached to the case and shredding into bitty pieces when being removed.
Although the laptop is a rip for its price point, its still kinda mesmerising how Jay feels grateful for having this. (Acknowledging he can get like 10 of those no sweat).
Jay flips laptop, no big deal. Linus touches ANYTHING, extreme terror.
If people need power why hamstring that by a battery that can only run it full throttle for an hour or 2 or stuck with the thermal limits of a 4lb case? If you are going to spend ridiculous amounts of money for overpriced laptops might as well use that for a Threadripper PC and if you need it to be portable put it in 2 modded suitcases, 1 for the PC/LCD screen the other for the 5KWh lipo pack/1500W inverter. Extendable run times by a few hours if you also carry a 500W foldable solar panel or 2 in a backpack to slow down the discharge of the battery in sunlight/outdoors. Yes, that's probably 100 lbs of shit that's probably best put in a wheel barrow or cart for portability but everything is a tradeoff.
My point exactly I do all my work and high intensity work loads and gaming on my 5900x , 64gb ddr4 ballistix running at cl14 , 15 ,16 ,16 ,34 , with a rtx 3080 3 gen 4 nvmes 4tb total and gen 3 in nvme adaptor on x570 master ., I have 2200u laptop I bought 4 years ago still nippy does what I need for spreadsheets , basics things and some medium light loads , cost me £250 at the time brand new decent 1080p screen 4gb ddr4 I bought another 4 4gb from cex for £4 , I replaced the shit lite on 256gb SSD for a crucial high performance gen 3 nvme 1tb for £62 , a few weeks ago a got a new battery for £37 does everything I need it do still look as good as new , even the screen I can do low end gaming on it too with the vegaa 3 , postal 2 and rct3 an old but good game , why spend more if you don't need to I could easily she'll out for Ryzen 5000)6000 laptop but it would be pointless for me
Price isn't bad for the specs either compared to Xotic or Falcon Northwest. I kinda wish they had a cheaper 15" option, but meh.
It seems light and thin is what most companies want to make these days, but I'd personally prefer double the thickness and double the weight if it meant better cooling with similar or less noise.
Same.
I mean compared to my intergeted graphic duo core laptops it's infinitely better and compared to my ryzen desktop. Gpu blows it away. Crazy how far laptop power density /cool efficiency have come. Light, high powered, and thin (aside from he brick).
I like that the badges are on the bottom.
