  • Here is a FULL tutorial on how to make a large resin pyramid using a DEEP POUR RESIN. This “BOTTOM of the OCEAN” themed pyramid has removable lights via a hidden compartment underneath. It is a long video because there is a lot that goes into making a pyramid like this - so please stick around until the end - it will be well worth it.
    MATERIALS USED:
Naked Fusion Deep Pour Resin (2:1 by volume)
Naked Fusion Resin (1:1 by volume)
Naked Fusion Resin Luxxe Pigment Powders, Tropical Sea, Peacock
    Bombay Ink, Turquoise
    Shells, Sand, Starfish, Pebbles
    Plastic Turtles and Jelly Fish
    Mica Flakes, glitter
    Gold Anchor
Plexiglass and Felt for the base
Many thanks to Louse Singleton for her tips - check out her channel

Jules, it turned out beautifully! It looks very magical. Thank you for the shout out. I know what you mean about the magnets being tricky. I have actually found a much simpler way which I will be doing a video for soon. A tip for your next one is that you can’t draw your plan onto baking paper and slide it between the mould and the support. That way you can see exactly where to pour your resin up to for each layer. Xxx

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've taken all your tips in board. Have just been away and collected shells and sand. I wanted the continuity of depth that you've given. It's my 1st attempt so hopefully I can get something resembling this. Only issue is I don't have a hot gun. Any suggestions. Also the sand you mixed in in the UK will PVA glue work? Similar to Hodge Podge. Your work is outstanding 🥰

What a lovely piece. I do pyramids too, and in case you don’t know about this, I’ll share my tricks.. Instead of a bottle, I use one of my silicon mixing cups, weighted down with stones, it just pulls out easily. I also just use clear resin instead of glue in my sand, then I don’t have to worry about it sticking to the mold,

I've been meaning to make a pyramid with lights. Love how yours turned out. I have done several sea turtle ocean pyramids and wanted to do some variation. Might I make a suggestion with regard to the sand you added. Instead if using glue, use resin. It works great and you will not have to babysit the creeping sand etc.

    • @JulesMadisonArtByDesign
      @JulesMadisonArtByDesign  4 года назад +2

Perfect job young lady :) I do heaps of resin work on my wood lathe. I strongly suggest mixing both base and hardener in one container then pour all into a second container.. why? if you have base remaining un-mixed in container 1 it has a chance of not mixing thus sticky cure. It is a definite mix in the second container.

    • @JulesMadisonArtByDesign

I’ve never had a sticky cure yet luckily. Sometimes I transfer to a second container depending on the amount of resin. It’s an interesting science for sure.

Also... To get the correct amount of resin to start at the top of your mould, pour sand in and use this as a guide for measuring. Oh! the silcone on the bottom is perfect. Try not using hot glue to place it but replace it with masking tape to hold it down and vertical.
