- Deborah Ann "Debbie" Gibson (born August 31, 1970), is an American singer-songwriter who was a teen pop icon. She was popular in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. At the age of seventeen, Gibson was the youngest person to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit single (in the USA) with her song "Foolish Beat," a title that is now shared with rapper Soulja Boy.
She appeared repeatedly on the covers of teen magazines (in the USA) such as Tiger Beat. She has gone on to starring roles on Broadway and touring musicals, as well as independent film and television work. She continues to record, and reached the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart as high as #24 during 2006 in a duet with Jordan Knight titled "Say Goodbye."

Absolutely! She came from the era when you actually had to have TALENT to make it as a performer. Looks were secondary.
I saw her in Nashville back when the Mixtape Tour was going on, 2021 or so, don't remember for sure, but I know she was in her 50s then... And she still looks and sounds amazing!

I saw her in concert a couple of years ago on the Mixtape Tour, which also had Tiffany, Salt n Pepa, Backstreet Boys I think, and someone else I can't remember right offhand.... She's definitely still got it.
