if there is friction then its not perpendicular if it is smooth then it is perpendicular

I too have the same doubt. Sir please clarify. Further Akhil, as per your understanding Rb should have been perpendicular as smooth floor is taken. But sir has not done like that .
Why?

@@govindankrishnamoorthy51 Because in this case the ladder is not going from above the wall as in previous case and reaction is always perpendicular to the surface on which the body rests .
