  • Realized while exploring this abandoned gold mine that I needed more rope. Usually, 300 feet of rope is more than enough to do a mine exploration. This mine had other plans.
I now have unfinished business with this mine. I will return with more rope.

Your audio was actually better than usual. I almost always have to crank the volume on my phone to hear you, but this time I had no such issue.

Yep fubared the rope drop rope rats nest lol hello from Australia opal miner here and shhhhh I have had bad rope drops when exploring abandoned mines unlike some here on Ytube you didn't edit that out neither would I have :) I have often wondered how do those pack rats live in total darkness and still manage 2 survive as in not just light but what is their food source that deep underground. May I add here in Australia 2 get mines of that age is rare except in Victoria or Tasmania yep am jealous :) @16:20 bet that bus could tell some stories but then again possible not told. The SR5 as you said was a manual with transfer cases for as long I can remember the only vehicles I have owned have been 4 wheel drives diff front diff rear and transfer cases in-between and yep five speed manuals could nit drive anything off road that had a lazy mans automatic in it why would 1 bother , but I digress I do that.

I'm kind of curious about the prospector who was working this mine before. Any idea who they are specifically and why they stopped/what they're doing now? Is there anywhere to find out more info about them? Looks like the initials JT at 7:18. Is that from him?

Hi, That brake drum may have been one of the wheels of a home made railcar. My dad used to use them for this purpose as they have a flat surface & a natural flange to keep it on the track..

As a big guy I have been deterred from going down ladders without a rope. Wise choice on your part to know when to think. Fantastic video production thanks for dragging us along for the adventure.
