I don't understand this thinking. Major props to this drummer for nailing the song, but what's wrong with people embellishing on drum covers? "Respect the drum track"? Huh? Music is meant to be played.
If you're gonna overplay and show off, a play-along cover is the time to do that. Don't mess up a performance with an actual band, sure, but II can't think of anything with lower stakes than playing along to a song in your basement. You wanna throw in those paradiddles you've been working so hard on, the basement is the place to do it. Let people have some fun. Yeesh.

Getting into this - you gottem, I think the best cover. [tho I think more and more double stick-beats on the drums and little less on symbols (even ONE more hard, before going to symbols) - for more accentuation at those poignant points (at break around 3 min.) would be more moving / impressive]. :)

Maaaaan you've totally nailed that super tricky ride in the chorus...I've never really got exactly how he did that until I saw what you were doing. I love how you just got fully into the swing of it as you went on, and that last bit with the snare/bass drum fills was gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Freaking love it! I’m an intermediate drummer and can play most standard rock songs, but it’s the off beat crap that gets me, like at the beginning of 1:47. You made it look so easy and that really helped. I love how your toms aren’t too much higher above the snare too. I’ll have to go thru your videos to find out more about your equipment. Just subscribed a few days ago too. Great stuff!
