Yeah - this is what I thought when I first heard it, but now; after seeing them at MHOW; after listening to MM a bunch of times over - it's a definitely slow burn and not as immediate as The Demonstration. That being said, these guys created this album with their own drum sounds (no drum machines used) which took them days to create and when you put it all together with all the influences - it's really just an ethereal psychedelic take on the 80s. Which this almost 52 year old who saw a lot of those bands IN the 80s, say - these guys HAVE IT. And what they have more than those other bands (if you follow the scene you know the bands I mean and you can throw out a dozen or more) is SONGWRITING. You can have all the atmosphere in the world, but without the songwriting, without the vocal melodies (and these guys have great pop melodies and vocals) you're just average.
No problem at all! And I'm looking into it, as well as a lot of other releases. For every review that drops I've listened to anywhere between 5-12 records that don't get reviewed, haha! Cheers, and ty for watching! :)
It’s amazing to me where some cheesy thrown together rap cut will get 7 million views but far better bands like Drab Majesty get a little over 100 thousand.

Good review, pretty much sums up my thoughts on the album as well.
Ooh I might dig this
Definitely check it out! :)
Shit. It’s my album of the year!

On first listening it sounds to me too much like The Smiths, Joy Division & Depeche Mode worship work with too little own flavor.
I’d rather listen to the originals that did it waaay better. Its really boring. Show Gaze modern stuff is boring.
