Beautiful covers.
I chose the exact same editions. The Lord of the Rings collection is my absolute favourite. The fact that they all have the minimalistic design on the hardcovers is great as well.
Gorgeous collection, I love the original trilogy with Tolkien's book covers, unfortunately I only have the Two Towers and RoTK with such cover art.
Tales from the Perilous Realm seems like such a good looking book as well.

That is a fine achievement.
the publisher was actually very capable of doing a 1-volume release, but the book would have been too large/thick, and the smaller books would be more appealing to try to read for consumers. So the entire choice of the seperation of 3 volumets was forced on Tolkien completely due to publisher 'preference'
I’ve considered reading the lotr I’d probably get the 1 volume like the complete book, maybe one day

No. They came with the Fellowship of the Ring extended edition DVDs in 2002.

One question about the illustrated editions. Are they the same height? Because from the video some seem a bit taller, I don’t if the dust jacket is upwards or if it is indeed taller.
They are the same height. The LotR boxset looks slightly taller in the box.
That symbol at the top of each spine, does it have a name/meaning?
It's J.R.R. Tolien's initials.

It doesn't seem to be available at the moment. But keep an eye out, I think they come back in stock every now and then.
