Thanks for viewing the video that I produced for the Navy Relief Fund Drive 04-89. Be sure to check out other video's that I did, one of which was for fire prevention week at NAS Chase Field. These videos were filmed for a local tv station out of Corpus Christi Texas. Don't know if you know this but, NAS Chase Field has been closed for many years now, somewhere effective in early 1992. Now is owned by the State Of Texas, and is now a State Prison. Again, thanks for watching the video
They are tearing down one of the hangars soon. The Training Air Wing Three Hangar. I wish they hadn't had turned it into a prison and, instead, into a museum or something. My grandfather used to work out on Chase Field too.
I received my wings there .. March 3, 1989 .... VT-4 as I recall ... sad to see it closed ... I think it is a prison now ... I remember seeing the stick at the gate when I visited years later ... but no plane on it.
My Grandfather, Bill Grigsby retired as fire chief from NAS Chase Field. He has since passed. I am so happy I found this video..
I served at Chase from 83-87. I enjoyed my time there as an AC.
