Great idea, Sega. Let's put the longest pinball section with a feather right in the middle so players who are trying to get the Red Ring have to ragequit to get back there.
It was just an ordinary day. RatchetSprite after eating his pancakes for breakfast decided to return back to finishing Lost World and attempting to complete the entire game 100% with all the red rings collected. He already has 2 chaos emeralds now so the job of course isn't finished yet. RatchetSprite is so close to getting another chaos emerald in Frozen Factory so he decides he wants to focus on that *stupefying* zone next. Unfortunately, RatchetSprite runs into a sort of difficulty spike. Now, he already has 4 red rings in Frozen Factory Zone 3, but he's missing the 3rd one. But this one was special. This one, beyond any doubt in God's name, may be the hardest red ring in the entire game. Hmmm, now why is that you might ask? RatchetSprite is determined to go after that 3rd red ring. It was in a pinball section with obstacles all around. Bumpers everywhere. RatchetSprite told Sonic not to gamble and don't try to collect those rings in those slot machines because they already have enough lives but Sonic lamentably didn't listen. He kept going into that slot machine over... And over... And over... And over again. There were moments when RatchetSprite thought that it was literally impossible or/and there was an easier way to grab the damn red coin but not quite. There were moments when RatchetSprite wanted to just break the controller, after every time Sonic would go right through the bumpers RatchetSprite was controlling with the triggers and dying in a bottomless pit. After every 5 deaths or so, an item box would show up, forcing you to hit it and move to the upper check point... starting the entire level. All over again... The music got so annoying and the sound effects drove RatchetSprite insane with Sonic yelling "Ahh" and "Woahhhh" after every God damn death. The music got undeniably repetitive. RatchetSprite was forced to mute the game and listen to the Hyrule Warriors soundtrack instead. But with perseverance RatchetSprite just kept trying. He knew after it was all over he could rant about his experience all he wanted to. Through the thinnest of luck, RatchetSprite finally made it though what he likes to call 'the ball puzzle, act 2' and finally obtained the 3rd red ring. It only took him, and I fuck you not, 2 hours.

These guides are soooooo helpful. But I have 2 bits of advice: put in the description what Zone begins at what time and begin the next Zone after you show the location of the 5th Ring. It really isn't necessary to show anything after it. But other than that these guides are so perfect, thank you so much for making them.

Quick tip for anyone who fails to hit all the balls into the holes in zone 2 red ring 5, if you fail hold left and Y, it will slow sonic to a halt so you can skip the checkpoint. :)
I finally got the act 2 5th ring. Just guess how many tries it took for me to get it, 6 tries!!! In act 3, I really hate the pinball machine for the 3rd red ring. Thankfully, I got it on my first try!!!!

I have this for PC and there is a glitch (only for me) were if I hit the Bell in frozen factory zone 3 the game crashes so I can never get super sonic :'(
Hated zone 3 and it was one of the zones I was looking forward to playing the most. The pinball completely ruined this level for me. Why are we punished so severely if we mess up. It shouldn't cost lives for something as trivial as a pinball mini game, that doesn't make it more challenging, it's just annoying.
Broken trash sums up these Red Rings and whoever came up with this idea needs to be tied up in a tank of water with Electric Eels in it. Regardless thank you for making this even though I've had to give up for now, far too frustrating.

ohhh, that fifth red ring in the snowball level is such utter horseshit. what is it with sonic games and these horrendous billiard puzzles? (thinking about the one in silver's story in 06) edit: fuck this fuck this fuck this. I was having a lot of fun with this game up until I got to Frozen Factory Zone. All four of these levels are what I would consider to be some of the most poorly designed levels in any modern Sonic game. Why the hell do I have to do this pinball bullshit just to get all the red rings? god. this is so nefarious. having to play pinball to get one singular red ring made my blood boil more than any level of sonic 06 ever could
