Reichard is automatic from 40 and under. Which means he makes all his extra pints. Vikes are sick of kickers missing PAT’s. Reichard has a good leg not elite power though. That’s fine. If we can extend him to automatic form 50 and under you have a HOF kicker.

If, in 3 years everyone of these picks are still on the roster, regardless if they are a backup or starter, then it is a home run draft. Even if 50% are, it is still a very good draft. If only McCarthy and Turner are still around and starting, well then in 3 years we will be looking back at this draft as a success. Mind you, as the rule, 3 years after a draft, 95% of the NFL picks are either busts, or playing backups on other teams, if they are even still in the league.

Charger fan here, who obviously paid a lot of attention to Jim Harbaugh’s final season at UM - Contrary to popular belief, JJ McCarthy did not actually have an elite offensive line at Michigan last year. Sure, they were highly effective in the run game, and played cohesively as a unit. But nobody on that line was special. This is evidenced by the fact that the entire UM offensive line entered the draft, yet none were considered blue chippers. Three of them went 3rd, 5th, and 7th rounds, while 3 others went undrafted. IMHO, JJ performed exceedingly well, considering that he had two very average to poor offensive tackles protecting him. Obviously Harbaugh loved to run the ball, but his offensive line was not all that great at pass protection. It may take a little development, but I think JJ absolutely has the goods.

  • @user-dl3uo3we2z

The way I see Rouse is you have him kicking inside, thinking solid, more importantly any of your tackles get a twinge, he can kick our and be the best backup T we have had....2ndly when you face some of theses powerhouses in the NFC with monster interior DL,DT and edges, he has the size and power to neutralize his foe alongside the Tackles🖖

Overall I’m happy with the class. I wasn’t in on McCarthy early on but the more research I did, the more I bought in. Ultimately this Vikings draft class will be tied to him, even if Turner becomes a beast.
Not grabbing Malik Washington in the 6th hurts. I won’t pretend to be able to evaluate OL, but when Rouse was announced I was sad.
Worried about the defensive interior position. Newton with the second 1st is where I thought that was heading. Flores can figure it out hopefully.

Most picks don't pan out into 2nd contracts. 46% QBs succeed. 27% WR, 33%TE, 34% S, 38%RB, 38% CB. what you look at is possibilities, and the VIKES are loaded up with those. The coaches decide success, not the players, and the VIKES are loaded there too. Kudos all around for taking some chances.

Do I think he is a number one QB, no but he could be a very respectable back up, yes. For all of you thinking JJ Mcarthy being ready at week one or even this season at all, is trying to push a future top QB, too quickly, and will only serve to hurt the player and the team. McCarthy is a bust. I mean, after 30 years of watching football, you can just see it on his face. He was a game manager at best in college. How’s he suppose to be anything more against the pros? Horrible pick. I hope I’m wrong, I really do. But I just don’t see it. We’re screwed for the next 3 years. Turner pick was a steal though.

And after 30 years you're not a NFL GM? 😅

Go look what Belicheck said about McCarthy on ESPN.

@@kenbagwell8551Of course he said those things. We are all Viking fans here so I mean no disrespect to any of you. But, in a world where all people ever see anymore is what they want to hear, I’m trying to warn you guys. As a Viking fan, I’ve been let down for 30 years, things are not going to suddenly change with a 199 lb quarterback who wasn’t even the 2nd best player on his team against college players. Besides, if our GM somehow managed to pass over Kyle Hamilton for Lewis Cine it’s hard to have any trust in him.
