I wouldnt care if vikes spent a 3rd round pick on a kicker if hes hittin. This team has had to many k problems in the past.
Ya agreed lol. Tired of it
We have played two seasons of one score games. We would do good with a decent kicker
I liked joshua karty more, he hit a 56 wills long was 52
Reichard is automatic from 40 and under. Which means he makes all his extra pints. Vikes are sick of kickers missing PAT’s. Reichard has a good leg not elite power though. That’s fine. If we can extend him to automatic form 50 and under you have a HOF kicker.
A missed xp often times kept teams in gamss! We play games way too close!
In my 58 yrs as a Viking fan , I have seen too many times where a kicker has cost us a game including playoff games, I can’t remember a 6 round interior defensive linemen loosing a game. It is the sixth round not the fourth
That JJ Kirko pic made me laugh waayyy harder than it should have 😂😂😂😂😂 ⛓️⛓️⛓️⛓️⛓️
Kicker is crucial when we’re in these close scoring games
They picked the guy I wanted! they got the alabama kicker!!
It's getting to be that kind of high scoring game now that teams need to score every time from anywhere on the field, ala Justin Tucker / Evan McPherson / Harrison Butker. The best teams seem to have the best kickers.
@rubbersole79 They are usually the leaders in terms of points scored.
K in the 6th is 1,000,000% defensible.
How can any Vikings fan complain about drafting a kicker in the 6th round? If we can get a lights out kicker, we get a lights out kicker.
Amen.
Bears drafted a punter before we drafted a kicker. I think Vikings fans should be fine. Even if you hate the pick at least we didn’t draft a punter in the top 150.
I’m subbed to you on both of my accounts and watch your videos multiple times in completion. I know that doesn’t mean much but I appreciate the Viking love we get from you, you build a great community. Jeromes on the way to #100K
Rouse could be a huuuuge low-key hit, because both Darrisaw and O'Neill have been injured frequently the last couple years. More depth there is good.
I like the pick a lot. Seems like the perfect swing tackle.
JJ 5th Qb in the draft
JJ 5th WR in the draft
The stars have aligned Superbowl here we come
Wish we woulda grabbed Rice, but Don't mind what we got! Let's see how we can develop these guys!
Heard Vikings really wanted Maye, but Patriots wanted the Vikings 2 first rounders this year, 1st round next year and 1st round the following year! There’s a chance KOC would have been willing, but not Kwesi! Good for Kwesi!
i think jj will be better int he long run if he can handle more of a pass offense
@@yamisniper JJ was my number 1 and Maye 2
Watch what Belichek said about McCarthy on ESPN. Very impressive comments.
That’s good to hear and reaffirming Vikes got a great QB!
@@JustinColburn Yes! BB liked McCarthy way more than Drake Maye.
@@kenbagwell8551Ngl I’m glad he felt good about JJ but that being said I still think Maye is the better player, and I think Bill is a bit salty about NE
If, in 3 years everyone of these picks are still on the roster, regardless if they are a backup or starter, then it is a home run draft. Even if 50% are, it is still a very good draft. If only McCarthy and Turner are still around and starting, well then in 3 years we will be looking back at this draft as a success. Mind you, as the rule, 3 years after a draft, 95% of the NFL picks are either busts, or playing backups on other teams, if they are even still in the league.
wow 95??!! that's a hella failure rate!!
@@mgtow-balance3409 yup. When they talk about rocket science, they are not talking about professional Draft pickers. Many a GM's career has been destroyed. So many players never pan out.
Isn't having an accurate K even more important with the new kick-off rules?
Thanks!
Andy, can you do a solo video on all 17 so far udfa's?
Love this draft class! Great job Kwesi.
I like picking Reichard. He has a big sample size and that I consider that valuable.
With kickers now you also have to look at the kickers ability to place the kickoff in 'the zone'.
Charger fan here, who obviously paid a lot of attention to Jim Harbaugh’s final season at UM - Contrary to popular belief, JJ McCarthy did not actually have an elite offensive line at Michigan last year. Sure, they were highly effective in the run game, and played cohesively as a unit. But nobody on that line was special. This is evidenced by the fact that the entire UM offensive line entered the draft, yet none were considered blue chippers. Three of them went 3rd, 5th, and 7th rounds, while 3 others went undrafted. IMHO, JJ performed exceedingly well, considering that he had two very average to poor offensive tackles protecting him. Obviously Harbaugh loved to run the ball, but his offensive line was not all that great at pass protection. It may take a little development, but I think JJ absolutely has the goods.
The way I see Rouse is you have him kicking inside, thinking solid, more importantly any of your tackles get a twinge, he can kick our and be the best backup T we have had....2ndly when you face some of theses powerhouses in the NFC with monster interior DL,DT and edges, he has the size and power to neutralize his foe alongside the Tackles🖖
I will echo some of the sentiment: If the kicker can kick the ball through the goal posts and over the crossbar, I'll take him!!
Do a UDFA video next.
Very good draft all around. I think we pick up a wr undrafted with a guard and defense interior run stuffer
I was hoping Vikes would take Cam Little for more Ark rep. Plus that kid is pretty clutch and one of the few kickers that actually hypes up the position lol
Overall I’m happy with the class. I wasn’t in on McCarthy early on but the more research I did, the more I bought in. Ultimately this Vikings draft class will be tied to him, even if Turner becomes a beast.
Not grabbing Malik Washington in the 6th hurts. I won’t pretend to be able to evaluate OL, but when Rouse was announced I was sad.
Worried about the defensive interior position. Newton with the second 1st is where I thought that was heading. Flores can figure it out hopefully.
Jalen hall is not considered a bust he was not a first round pick!
His time here may be ending, they will need to try to sneak him onto the practice squad, somehow. Hope they can do it!
@@fyuriusryage5353 mullens needs to go cause jj will be back up anyways
I think hall might become a reliable back up if wants to stay. Also hasn't been able to fully play either I think him getting taken out was a mistake. Taking him out for the late game yes but he should of started the next week it was his first big hit in the nfl let the rookie adjust. I don't think he had a concussion.
Lol he most certainly got lit up and pretty sure dazed
they picked up quite a few oline in udfa
I hope we also get some WR And RBs
Khyree Jackson is 24, his age isn't a question at all.
"It's bad to draft bad kickers. It's good to draft good kickers." - Andy Carlson, 2024
"It's bad to cut good kickers two games into their careers."- Mike Zimmer, 2024
Overall Vikes did a great job. Most picks don't pan out into 2nd contracts. 46% QBs succeed. 27% WR, 33%TE, 34% S, 38%RB, 38% CB. what you look at is possibilities, and the VIKES are loaded up with those. The coaches decide success, not the players, and the VIKES are loaded there too. Kudos all around for taking some chances.
I love all these guys. The best draft ever. SKOL4LIFE
Think they started out good in signing UDFAs with Edge Gabriel Murphy. Promising UCLA gard I think. So the signings keep going and one can find stars in UDFA for sure. History has proved that.
Were Muse and Knox in SC at the same time?
Did anyone have any more then one of these players in their mock?
Quite a few
I like watching people stutter and see how they handle it because i have a stutter myself and i dont know how to control it
I'm like that with others with epilepsy, less alone feeling
When I stutter. I slap my cheek n the words come out perfectly. But I don't usually stutter.
Jackson, Rouse and Reichard were in all my mock drafts. Love Reichard and he should be our kicker day one and we can put this stupid kicker curse behind us FOREVER. Skol!
JJ to Jetts 👍👍💪🍿
Like every pick apart from Jackson hope he proves me wrong
There were a couple QBs I would have preferred, but they weren’t available so McCarthy was the best available. But I really love the rest of the draft. Can’t complain about this draft.
People need to get over the Spielman mentality. Would you rather have the best kicker or the 17th best DT? I know which one I'd pick...
What do u think of MN not signing a rb or wr? And do u think they will pick someone up a udfa??
Aaron Jones???
Justin Jefferson is g
We don't need a WR, and RB we can sign for dirt cheap nowadays (we also have Aaron Jones for at least this year, as well as Chandler)
This was my point instead of Kicker!
OH OH Kwesi is on the hot seat. BS please, pretty Ricky the Vikes will overpay and give up 3 firsts for JJ. No that's what he would have done, Chef Kwesi cookin.
I don't have a problem drafting a kicker if he's the consensus best one. People can't complain about drafting a good kicker and also complain when we have a Blair Walsh on our team missing chip shots...
Drake is dedicated and He is quick and bigger than Phillips or Murphy (seahawks). He wont even need a year in a NFL strength program
OK... no more of JJ in the chains. Gotta pump the pics of JJ with the rings!
Cousins wears chains... McCarthy wears rings.
Rings McCarthy > Kirko Chainz
I believe Kwesi nailed 2 UDFA’S basically 2 more Ivan pace dudes in Murphy-Edge, UCLA and Bo Richter, AIR FORCE!! Can’t wait SKOL VIKES!!
#cutthatmeat 😂😂
I loved the kicker pick. This kid knows how to make extra points hahaha I’ll take it!!!! Haha
Vikings fans: who cares about mid to late round picks?! Trade them away.
Also Vikings fans: If these late rounders hit this draft could be foundational
PA: JJ TO JJ FOR A PAYDAY.. TOUCHDOWN VIKINGS! SKOL!!
Who should we look at in fa for wr 3?
Sherfield
I Have Big Questions at WR3?...
Another Question I have is Why Oh Why No replacement for Safety behind Hitman? Hate this! Cine Better Pan Out This Year!
Minnesota never should have cut Daniel Carlson.
If Reichard is good, he will be more valuable than 99% of 6th round picks are.
Good class. Now give me Corey Schrader.
Only ine I question is kicker when I would have Rather gone RB or WR
Whys the intro so quiet now???
Reichard is on our team so he is our Vianteri Skol!!!
In college what are you force to do all the time.... Study go to class and then their football.
Cant blame the kid for wanting gaming time.
JJ chains!🤣
How many extra points did Joseph miss this year? Reichart missed ZERO.
NFL XP and NCAA XP are not the same.
Hope u guys are right about McCarthy.
I think UDFAs have a better chance of making the team than a 7th rounder because there are more of them.
Khyree the slicer jackson
Now they had to send them out, on a 140Mph ride🏎🚓😁
I dont think you can get mad at a kicker, its a 6th round pick so most of these guys are gonna be hit or misses
Imagine if we kept Daniel Carlson
Teams miss field goals all the time in the playoffs always the different between a SB
The most important part of a football team is the Ol and Dl and for 10 plus years the vikings have neglected them position with other teams backup Ol and Dl or 6th and 7th rounds picks if anybody knows football you should no you will never win anything making decisions like that Harbaugh tried to tell you that
why couldn't we sign the usfl kicker who is hitting 65 yd fg game winners?
Please push for Joshua Cephus to get a Viking invite. I see Jerry Rice. Great Teammate. Great attitude. Can take it to the house at any time.
Jaren Hall was a overhyped, I think McCarthy will be solid
No such thing as a 5th round bust.
You can not call Jaren Hall a bust with where he was drafted, and how little time he was thrust into a bad situation last season. Do I think he is a number one QB, no but he could be a very respectable back up, yes. For all of you thinking JJ Mcarthy being ready at week one or even this season at all, is trying to push a future top QB, too quickly, and will only serve to hurt the player and the team. The team needs to build a team, and not throw players to the fire, before they are ready😊
@@steveperyer4850 Maybe if we actually even get to start Jaren Hall in a good situation he may be decent sure, and you are right, McCarthy may need to sit a couple of games and watch Sam darnold to learn the gameplan
For a 5th round pick I don’t think you can call Jaren Hall a bust with how little opportunity he has gotten. Getting hurt doesn’t constitute a “bust”
5th rounders can't bust
Levi Drake Inigo Montoya Rodriguez
No kicker is perfect.
I have never been so glad to see someone leave a team. Good bye Kurt, goodbye to your guaranteed life.
Jjettas
2025 Mock Day 1. Lol.
Quadruple J connection - that's what we should call it.
6-11
Ur a loser
I don't feel great about this draft. Turner yes but the rest is meh. I feel like Mcarthy was a last resort pick for quarterback.
Kicker will be good but 6th for him? Jackson might be good eventually but when? He's already a older rookie.
last resort they was going for him or maye thats not a last resort
How was McCarthy a last resort?! It was always between him and Maye for us (it was pretty clear getting Maye basically was a pipe dream). McCarthy was the most likely one for us to take. Calling McCarthy a "last resort" pick is insane since the Vikings sure didn't feel that way with how much time they spent with him lol
If McCarthy is a bust is kwesi fired?
No😂
Depends if turner is good ig
Did speilman get fired for drafting ponder, treadwell, Khalil, Floyd, trae Wayne, mike Hughes, or gladney? If speilman can get away for 16 years with that many first round busts, I think Kwesi is fine for a few years😂
Kwesi did a great job this year…
McCarthy is a bust. I mean, after 30 years of watching football, you can just see it on his face. He was a game manager at best in college. How’s he suppose to be anything more against the pros? Horrible pick. I hope I’m wrong, I really do. But I just don’t see it. We’re screwed for the next 3 years. Turner pick was a steal though.
!remindme 1 year
😂😂 imagine, a GM drafts players by their look of their faces
And after 30 years you're not a NFL GM? 😅
Go look what Belicheck said about McCarthy on ESPN.
@@kenbagwell8551Of course he said those things. We are all Viking fans here so I mean no disrespect to any of you. But, in a world where all people ever see anymore is what they want to hear, I’m trying to warn you guys. As a Viking fan, I’ve been let down for 30 years, things are not going to suddenly change with a 199 lb quarterback who wasn’t even the 2nd best player on his team against college players. Besides, if our GM somehow managed to pass over Kyle Hamilton for Lewis Cine it’s hard to have any trust in him.
