Ahhhhhhh...the ol gps non existing line..lol. I feel ya! you'll have that in these beautiful mountains! Get used to flying quick for sure! I do a lot of filming with the drone in the wv mountains. glad i stumbled upon your channel. can't wait to see what you'll have next now that you got a drone.. just a warning...its an addicting hobby flying the drones.. so so so much more to see from a different perspective! great video my friend! happy flying!
lol... yes! I'm starting to see that's gonna be the case more often than not. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm definitely enjoying this little drone so far. I already have a list of places I want to take it and shots I want to try and capture. Take care my friend!
@@WildWonderfulWeekends no problem my man! i was gonna say everything that you mentioned in the video was spot on and will be helpful to newcomers getting into a drone. also the sky reflection off that little lake was awesome!
This is what I was looking for. I plan on taking my brand new Mavic Air 2 on a 4 day 32 mile remote wilderness trip in June in Arizona. I was wondering if I could still use follow me etc, with no cell signal or poor GPS service.
Was going to lift off inside 3-4 gps satellites. Was getting a warning take off with caution low gps lock. Thought get some knowledge first, decide not because of your video, cheers mate👍
I too am an avid kayker preparing to take the Part 107 exam. Like you, I plan to take pictures from my kayak in very remote locations with and without cell service and/or satellite reception. Thank you very much. I will, like, subscribe and look for other videos you've made. After I get started, I'll be back and make comments to help others like you're doing. It would be very cool for people like us to join-up and go on trips together. I usually go out alone, but it would be nice to kayak with others, especially kayakers with drones. By the way, this is especially a good time to be a kayaker for trips on Lake Mead and Lake Powell. It's getting nealy impossible to launch a boat/jet ski on these lakes where the scenery is unmatched anywhere in the world.
Hello Kenny, and congratulations on deciding to pursue your Part 107 certification! I'll subscribe to your channel and I look forward to seeing your videos. I agree, it would be great to connect with droners who kayak (or vice-versa). If you ever find yourself in my part of the country, give me a shout! Take care my friend and good luck.
I'm really looking forward to having it with me on my outings. I definitely think it's worth the investment. Now I just have to try not to crash it. lol Let me know if you pick one up, I would like to know what you think.
Hey! Thanks for watching my video. With my left hand, I push the thumbstick that controls altitude all the way down. When the drone makes contact with my hand, I keep holding the thumbstick down until the motors turn off. I don't use my thumb and fingers to "pinch" the drone any more unless I have to because the drone is drifting. I just put my hand out flat now and land the drone on it OR I use a landing pad that I take on the kayak with me. If you would like to check that out, here's the link: ruclips.net/video/J7HMNGCXzqw/видео.html
1.get a wetsuit for it. Made by phantom rain. 2. Get a rescue jacket from them so u can safely land on water at any time 3. Get a lanyard for ur controller? You're gonna drop it in the water of the drone ever gets ur finger when u try to catch it. GL lmao
Good advice. I made a landing pad for mine that helps a lot without putting extra load on the motors or possibly interfering with the ventilation of the chassis. I've been launching / landing from my kayak now for over 3 years and have had zero accidents. ruclips.net/video/J7HMNGCXzqw/видео.html
2 years later and your video is still helpful!! thanks for sharing

@@CodyCarr I didn't realize the reflection was coming through so clearly or I would've taken a shot directly overhead.

Honestly, I got the air3, and I haven't even touched it yet before I finish getting these items. I still gotta buy the rescue jacket

Amazing
Thanks so much Lakhan, I appreciate it my friend!
That’s lovely footage .
Thanks Nick!
Thanks CHI, (Chicago 🤭 ).
Thanks for watching my video!
Was gonna say you could use that grab and flip over technique, but one slip and you'll throw your own drone in the drink 🤣
lol... and that would be just my luck. :)
@@WildWonderfulWeekends haha 👍
FPV is way to go flying drones. It's like ur sitting in the drone itself
Yeah, I'll bet it's quite an experience. I'll have to check it out sometime.
