Fellow doctor who has worked in a government setup here. First thing first, the TEST IS FREE. I have seen many people ask this query regarding isolation that what if we are isolated with someone who tested positive. I would like to assure you this that leaving minor things aside, most protocols that are followed to deal with infectious diseases are similar all around the world. This is not the first infectious pandemic we are dealing with and surely not the last. The protocol has been tested time again and modified with new stuff the system has learned through so many infections. So yes if someone who is isolated tests positive, precautions are taken with all of his close contacts. You are given masks in isolation. These are the same mask your doctor will be wearing. So they are giving you the exact same protection as themselves. I believe if they think the mask can protect them, it can protect you. It is not a social gathering. Maintain distance from other patients, donot touch your surroundings unnecessarily and wash / sanitize your hands. If your test comes negative and you are sent home, you recover and get another infection or your symptoms worsen or don't improve within a week or two( most virals other than covid-19, last for about a week and half)you can inform the doctors and they will retest you. It is better to stay at home for this period and maintain distance from those who live with you. Also we have to work with the resources we have and give the best services possible. If you are going for the test or have symptoms let people near you know so they can take precautions and maintain distance. We have a lot on our plate so a little help from your side would be really appreciated. Secondly less kits are available right now so you are tested only if you have travel history or infected close contacts and symptoms to make proper use of resources. We are trying our best to control this and get the country out of this situation. But no matter how much we tell you to stay at home unless it is really really necessary to go out, keep distance, wash your hands, not touch your face, report to the hospital if you have travel history and symptoms, we cannot do this without your help. And the first step in this is to trust and be honest and not panic. It's a request to not hog up masks. Medical professionals need them more than you as they come in constant contact with patients. It is okay to ask questions. Ask questions as much as you want. Knowing information can decrease anxiety. We have to be alert and not anxious. Lastly thank you quint for this video. Glad the lady in the video tested negative. This is very helpful to decrease anxiety regarding the testing procedure.

It is from a member of the new quint, print and wire trio known for their anti BJP rants, and 2. because the lady in the video looked like she was going to start a volley of verbal abuses against the Modi government. However, the happy ending was a pleasant surprise.

One doesn't have hug each other, do kisses or sneeze on each other. Those things are to be avoided completely. That is why clean bathrooms and clean wards. Because anyway we might come across people who are infected with Corona, who didn't go to the hospital for a check-up and are still roaming around in the public. That is when we've been advised to wash hands, not touch our eyes nose mouth.
@@sanobartuba but those beds were so closely arranged. The possibility of catching the virus is upto 1-2 m right ?! I was expecting atleast a screen separation between two beds.
It's a triage actually.. most severe symptom patients are kept separate to mild symptoms, they use masks and use hand sterilization and no visitors are allowed. And the virus can only infect via aerosols at distance of 1mt. So do the math. It's pretty much like what we do in swine fly wards isolation. The real risk is to the doctors working there in that environment 24x7
Really happy to hear this first hand account. Im proud of the doctors, staff and government employees who are working hard and trying to protect the people. Stay strong India!
At a time when some media outlets are trying to create fear by tantalizing headlines despite the fragile state of mind of many, this comes as a relief and ray of hope for the citizens. We dont need to worry, just take precautions and hope for the best of the world. :)
then don't get the test and infect all your family and community, you must have had basic education to realise to maintain strict hygiene in an infective environment. Is it that hard to do? and if by any chance you get the virus due to your own lack of hygiene, you can contact the authorities and let them know that you went for test and developed the symptoms later, they aren't dumb to not realise that you contradicted it there and would isolate you and test your contacts too.
@@pikachu5647 are you stupid to understand that the whole point of isolation would be invalid if something like this happens? Use some brains, keyboard warrior.

Your experience is diagonally opposite to the article carried out in TOI Sunday Paper stating that strays were roaming around the filthy quarantine ward.
How come they entered the quarantine ward when no one except patients are allowed there...use your logic.... They showed general wards and general wards are not always clean in public hospitals or most of the private hospitals unless you're paying hefty price
As per WHO - Wash hands with soap & water. If this is not available then use Sanitizer with over 60% alcohol concentration- any less alcohol content is not effective in killing germs . So read labels of Sanitizers before buying
Thanks for sharing this video.few people are deliberately not support ing the government, due to fear of hospitals and quarantine. This will help them.
Nice input. I also faced the same at KGMU Lucknow. 1 entire day quarantine. The only thing I don’t like which is exactly what you also faced, we haven’t prepared ourselves for so long as they didn’t mention first. However, I respect they took the initiative.
But when she stayed there and other person might came who is also waiting for his report and if he get positive wouldn't that be risky for to share the same room
The fact that the isolation Ward and bathrooms were clean should definitely be appreciated *BUT* the fact that only 3-4 people were there for testing is very concerning. It shows that people are not getting tested which should be a major concern.
India is still not going for mass testing... We are only testing people with travel and contact history, that's why there are few people... Once mass testing started, there will be a definite panic...

@@krishnagarg7429 yes you are right.....but then why are the hospital staff there are covered from head to toe ??,,, I guess the same kind of protection is not being given to patients from each other......this could be the reason for few suspected patients running away from hospitals.....as heard from news reports lately.

I think a lot of people were trying to avoid offering their correct travel history as most of them must be dreading getting quarantined in our government hospitals what with their reputation of poor hygiene and unsanitary conditions. This video is heartening to hear and in the interest of society, our citizens must make it a point to be transparent about their travel history symptoms etc. At the same time state governments should take this hospital as an example and keep up levels of cleanliness so that people don't shy away from being admitted if they have to due to poor conditions.

This is very helpful to decrease anxiety regarding the testing procedure.
thank you Mohana & the video lady for the information! I dont know about other comments, but mostly all mumbaikars are curious about what to do if they have symptoms and is the risk worth it to go to kasturba! REALLY THANK YOU on behalf of all Mumbaikars
Thanks for it dude! I’m coming to India in a few days, and I’m tested negative for Corona, although I was just told that I will be kept in a Hospital, so I was sort of panicking about it. Well, now I don’t need to worry! Thanks for the information.
Thanks a lot for sharing your own experience...it's so much required in this chaos that someone actually giving simple run through...and to the contrary I am positively suprised that the cleanliness part...your thoughts run on various direction when u have heard various unverified stories about hygiene levels of hospitals..
Good that she shared her experience. Share it to as many people as we can. It can help someone if goes through this phase.

Do not self medicate
It is not going to act as a preventive because
Azee = azithromycin is antibacterial
Tablet mvbc is multivitamin b complex
Tablet PCM is paracetamol for fever and pain
Cetrizine 500 is antihistamine for allergic symtoms like sneezing etc
Pan 40 = pantoprazole is a antacid
Hey thanks a lots of sharing .. it really make s difference when someone speak something positive ..thanks for sharing . Going to hosp is really a tension..but ya if no symptoms then why worry..God bless you and nice to know that Ur reports came negative..prayers goes for all those who lost their lives due to this sickness and thanks God for keep us save. Praise you Lord.
Everyone is saying govt but none are saying BJP.
I dont know why this popped up in my mind
Coz most of the states are currently having different political parties at State level
And some are from other countries who don't know the name of parties
The way she unfold the information l thought something will be wrong abt the procedures of the hospital but she guided us nicely
This video proves that looks can be deceiving and teaches that never judge a book by its cover. I started watching the video quite reluctantly because of two reasons
1. It is from a member of the new quint, print and wire trio known for their anti BJP rants, and
2. because the lady in the video looked like she was going to start a volley of verbal abuses against the Modi government.
However, the happy ending was a pleasant surprise.
Thank you for sharing this. Very helpful information
She is an actor. A normal person cannot tell a story so smoothly.
she is a news reporter for the quint,
Or maybe you are just a very cynical person
She is a journalist. Havent you seen her taking interviews before ?
She is paid by modi, Muslims should not be in there anti modi momentum

Thank you for this video, your first hand report has set my fears at rest regarding this general hospital. God bless the hospital, patients, medical staff and hospital support staff. May God help us to overcome things human to human virus soon.
So heart warming to hear this. I pinched myself at the words 'spotless wards' & 'spotless toilets' . Our Govt is getting everything right this time and we must shout this out from the rooftops.
I also think that this is a sign that the new generation has taken over from the sad, old, whining generation and are determined to set this country right.
Thanks to this pretty lady.
Quint should bring more such encouraging reports. We need the air of positivity now.👍
Thanks for this video..really helpful for others who are travelling n coming back to india...
Who has positive in Corona virus ...the interview need
Thanks doc & your team from caring all the patient , as my uncle mr rajendra chand thakur has been admitted in your hospital and battling for covid -19 I would like to appreciate and req you that please pass the message that his 5 yrs kid is waiting for him , he is very emotionally weak so ,by this message I want him to get motivated to fight for win along with other who are waiting for their family . God blessed you and your team . Aarav age 5 🙂🙏
One issue is that, what if someone tested positive in the same ward?.. Possiblity that they can transmit to us..
I was expecting atleast a screen separation between two beds.
yes, you need to wear mask and be very hygenic in that place, which is avoid touching face and eyes and wash hands well before eating.
@@harveyspecter1855 There were only 3-4 people in a ward with 30 beds. You can definitely maintain a distance.

What if you ger infected while waiting for reports among all those travellers
then don't get the test and infect all your family and community, you must have had basic education to realise to maintain strict hygiene in an infective environment.
Virus doesn't travel in air.... You need to stay in your bed and avoid contact with other people in the room , that's it..... And they disinfect those rooms every few hours.... Let's not panic...
Maintain distance for those 24 hours!

Your experience is diagonally opposite to the article carried out in TOI Sunday Paper stating that strays were roaming around the filthy quarantine ward.
Dont believe everything that comes in news
How come they entered the quarantine ward when no one except patients are allowed there...use your logic.... They showed general wards and general wards are not always clean in public hospitals or most of the private hospitals unless you're paying hefty price

Shouldn't the waiting period be in isolation wards , if one of them is positive ,then others are at risk of contracting the virus
love is the cure India doesn’t have such facilities for every suspected patient
yes India is logicless
Very useful. Thank you Ma'm for the detailed video. I had unnecessary concerns about it all.
She decided to stay when she saw clean toilets 🤭
😆funny, jokes a part.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
you have done a very good job by making this video.... people will be motivated to get tested if they feel the symtoms...
As it takes hours...There's only one ward for the people being tested and what if the infected one infects others who have came for test?
Thanks mam.. The video was so helpful
As per WHO - Wash hands with soap & water. If this is not available then use Sanitizer with over 60% alcohol concentration- any less alcohol content is not effective in killing germs . So read labels of Sanitizers before buying
Yes and soap and water is still the best
Thanks for sharing this video.few people are deliberately not support ing the government, due to fear of hospitals and quarantine. This will help them.
Finally something from quint that does not find faults in the government
They do sanitize the room...
I am in KSA, Really I appreciate the Indian govt that is doing good job about Corona virus.
What if you get infected by a Cornivirus patient who is residing in same ward.
This is one positive story and kudos to her for keeping calm in a situation where she doesn't know what would happen next.
The fact that the isolation Ward and bathrooms were clean should definitely be appreciated
*BUT*
the fact that only 3-4 people were there for testing is very concerning. It shows that people are not getting tested which should be a major concern.
People are not coming to be tested bro...
India is still not going for mass testing... We are only testing people with travel and contact history, that's why there are few people... Once mass testing started, there will be a definite panic...
Thank You Mam, its great that you reporting and big Thumps Up to our Government. Gives lot of confidence to us and be prepared.

What if an infected person, & a suspected person are quarantined in same room... Can the suspected one who could test negative,,would catch infection ??

I think a lot of people were trying to avoid offering their correct travel history as most of them must be dreading getting quarantined in our government hospitals what with their reputation of poor hygiene and unsanitary conditions. This video is heartening to hear and in the interest of society, our citizens must make it a point to be transparent about their travel history symptoms etc. At the same time state governments should take this hospital as an example and keep up levels of cleanliness so that people don't shy away from being admitted if they have to due to poor conditions.
