I recently ordered a DX8 gen 2 , which is an upgrade from my DX6...not really seeing the big advantages of switching to the NX series , unless I fly the new Spectrum smart batteries.....are you still using the older DX8 too ?....thanks
Thanks for the question, Gary. Yes, I am still using my DX8. If I were purchasing today, I would probably go with the NX series, mainly for the WiFi connectivity (when I attempted to upgrade firmware on my DX8 last year using the SD card slot, I got a "hardware fault" which required me to send it in for service - very frustrating). However, I am not sure that I will purchase the NX series anytime soon, so long as my DX8 still works. I hope you enjoy your DX8!
@@jack-of-all4535 thanks for your response....just got my DX8 yesterday and now going through the manual trying to find any major differences / upgrades from my DX6 and except for the extra switches , I am not finding any...thanks again
Jack-Of-All I hope so! on the flitetest sub reddit, i keep getting a bunch of biased comments, but speaking half of my club uses and has no problems with spektrum, i think i am making the right choice. Thanks!!
Hard to pull trigger on it. I can get another plane for this price. I think when i am ready to move up to a plane that requires 7 or 8 channels i will purchase one.
I like purchasing from Horizon Hobby, and their BNF offerings include a Spektrum receiver. I decided on the DX8 to give myself some room to grow. There are definitely more budget-friendly options. Maybe consider the RadioMaster TX16S or the Jumper T18. Both can bind to multiple protocols including Spektrum.
Thanks for the input / advice! I am still trying to get a handle on making these videos, and I like to give lots of information (especially for people who may be new to the hobby). I definitely appreciate that and will work on it.

Does the antenna move at the top?
The antenna is fixed (does not move). Thanks for the question!
