A Parallel nib with highlighter ink would be a great idea.

I have modified the Pilot parallel nibs with sandpaper, very easy and doesn’t take long..

Decided to try a couple of makers. The parallel fits snugly into a Walltown Pen Oslow model using the whole feed!

I know this video is from 2 years ago.. I use the Pilot parallel nibs in Opus 88 demonstrator pens. The nib fits perfectly and you have a huge ink capacity of almost 4 ml.. I have a few of these pens for my urban sketching.

I tried the opus 88 and the nib kept getting stuck and had a hard time removing it-but perhaps that was a quirk of the particular pen I was using. I know a lot of people have success with the opus 88 and pilot parallel nibs.

thank you! One reason I don't use my parallel 2.4 often is because I don't care for the feel of the thin light body. I tried switching the nib/feed to my metropolitan and it works even though the threads are very tight, I imagine a lot like the sign pen, but the cap won't fit on it. Thanks for this info

  • @cheerprncess

Thank you for this. I hate the body because its so long and so large with that cap, I like to bring these to work with me so I just ordered some of the signature pens. Cant wait for them to come to lighten my carry load.

After quite a few years using fountain pens I have finally ordered these, though sadly we don't seem to have the newer sizes available in the UK. Your review and advice was very timely.

Thank you so much for the sign pen link. I purchased a full set of Pilot Parallel pens from John Neal with a left-handed grind, but I’ve always disliked the pen body. Now I can use them! 👍🏾

Super useful! :) Thank you!! I've been wondering for a while about other bodies to put the parallel onto. I've heard about the opus 88 one, but couldn't justify the price.

Thank you for the suggestion! I had been using a pilot parallel as a highlighter for a while now. I swapped it into the sign pen body to make it look nicer. I'm slightly worried about the plastic cracking. It is very tight. There hasn't been any damage after a few weeks of using it. Now I have a neat refillable highlighter that doesn't need felt tips.

Phenomenal suggestion for the Pilot Pens! Not too big fan of the long body of the Parallel, and having the demonstrator pen body is nice to have, especially that the parallel pens use a lot of ink

"This is a calligraphy pen. It's hard to write with." xD
Just write a bit bigger and hey presto, it's like a smaller pen. Except bigger! Or on a huge piece of paper. Then it'll be tiny writing! Except fun!

The 6 mm runs out of ink quickly and the Opus 88 2-3.6ml ink (eye dropper pens) holds pilot parallels as well!! Demonstrators let you see ink level.

Thank you, i'am looking for a modification for years, from the very beginning of parallel pilot pen before it becomes popular, but it's too expensive to buy a lot of pen just for try if parallel pilot nib fits inside another... i saw a mod with an "opus 88" but it's about 80-110 €, i don't want to spend 400 €!

Have you heard or seen this working ?
