4:38... Why don't you show us instead of talking about it? You're missing the point of an instructional vid. If we can't SEE what you're doing and selecting, it does viewers no good.
as an amateur PSer, I was trying to fix an old photo( from 1980s), and I was wondering is there ways to make the faded, blurred photo clearer. Came upon this video. When I see the difference between effect on and off, my mind was blown, what a difference this makes. wow... thank you so so much.
It's pretty cool that there are so many different ways to approach this problem. I've learned three different ways in the last hour, but I think I like this approach the best.
Amazing of course you want to always have your shot perfectly in focus but having a shot out of focus happens to the best of us and this is a really solid fix
Nice tutorial! I used VanceAI Image Sharpener to fix missed focus once, and it worked well too. Compared to Photoshop, VanceAI is much easier to use and more friendly to amateurs. Powered by AI algorithms, it can help me turn blurry photos into clear ones or fix missed focus photos with several clicks; really incredible!
thanks a lot, not a perfect fix but after some experimenting it does work sometimes and makes it a lot better. definitely didn't learn this in either photography or my graphic design classes at school.
Hello, I was wondering if you maybe thought you could do a better job focusing an old photo of mine from the late 1970s. Would you be interested in taking a look?
Thank you sooo much!!! You just save my missing Persian kitten😊😊 Someone stole my kitten and thank god we caught the thief by using one of my cctv and all the thing i do is just to unblur the face. And you are a life saver!!😘😘
Why would you NOT show the "brush tool" option you selected?? I'm confused on how you got there. Videos like these are to help BEGINNERS so we need to know where to go. Photoshop is already complex as it is and people like you make it harder to learn!!
Wow, your video quality seems to have improved a lot since the 80d + Sigma 18-35 review video, the editing is more polished, the lighting is more strategically placed, and you just seem more comfortable on camera. Great stuff man! However, it still looks like you need to work on looking at the lens more when you are doing your Talking Head shots. This part is more just personal opinion but I feel like you should also up your audio quality to match your video quality to make everything feel nice and balanced because with all the nice lighting and everything I feel like it just makes the sub par audio stand out even more ya know? But yea other than those two things, I feel like you are doing great work and it's honestly motivating and inspiring to see how much you improved in terms of production quality on your RUclips videos, keep up the good work brother! :)
Thanks man for the advice, it's great to hear, that the improvements are not going unnoticed, even though this is only my third video after the first one! Yeah, i know i have to work on looking more in to the lens not the lcd, it's a bad habit that is hard to get rid off haha. And for sure, audio is next on the list. I need to get my hands on a better mic, and practice editing audio more.
Im a ROOKIE and this definitely helped me. I did run into a bit of trouble once I got to the brush tool part where you brush out the sharpened part of the picture at the end. Not quite sure what I did wrong. But you definitely got me on the right path!!
I'm having a hard time getting to the pain brush part. after the layer mask, I can't seem to be able to use the paint brush to bring it back in focus. it appears to do nothing and I'm not sure where I'm going wrong
Hey bro, can I send you a very old picture of my late Mother to refocus for me, please? It'd mean so much for the family, and I don't have any editing software
3:45... "Use the brush tool..." What brush tool? Where's it at? And what setting? Part of your screen is out of frame and you have windows blocking other sections of the screen so we can't see what you're selecting.
I'm using Windows 7 and Photoshop 7. Not sure what version of Photoshop is in this video but it's not as easy as click click done. I was able to click Filter > Other > High pass and it's set at 4.9. After that I managed to find Linear Light but digging through the options (its not as easy as in your video!!) Then you say "everything is sharpened." NOT SO - the grey image is the exact same grey image. Anyone with comments....??
I'm having a hard time getting to the pain brush part. after the layer mask, I can't seem to be able to use the paint brush to bring it back in focus. it appears to do nothing and I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. dislike.
Except it didn't work for me. I got to the High Pass filter Radius setting part and clicked OK. Then, just this guy did, I went to the [blending options] (which I never even saw that title) drop down and selected Liner Light and... nothing happened to my photo; it just stayed gray with lines in it. Oh sure, I'm sure it might work just fine, but this guy just went so fast that I'm sure I missed a click somewhere. But hey! He's pretty impressed with himself. Too bad he didn't think that maybe someone out here just might not be able to read his mind. Oh, and he sure likes to hear himself talk... a LOT, like half the video. I'll go find another video that will work for me, even if it might be complicated. Well, too bad for me.
These methods might work okay for images that aren't being printed but if you have an image that missed focus and you want to print it as a large banner you can just forget it. There is no method to make a blurry image subject look like it was taken in focus, the poor image quality and noise is just unacceptable even with images not taken at high ISO.
I disliked your video because you spend too much time talking and the actual showing of "how to fix a missed focus in photoshop" starts in like after 2 mins. Also, when you explain you are too fast,

Just go to the fill slider and lower it, it's right above your layers panel. Stop crying.
Exactly. He talked and talked for 2 minutes first.

Really appreciate the explanation for the drawback.. I thought it was just me!
Dude, that has blown my mind.. works amazingly well, even with a super blurry image. Thanks for the video!

interesting! i do this (far to many times!) but use overlay (or soft light for a lesser effect). will try this too!
Its amazing! Thanks a lot

Thank you. This is my go to video to fix my blurry videos.
hahaha I had to laugh because I related to absolutely everything from 0:16 - 0:41 down to using the exact same lens lol
Thank you for saving the day!
What brush after 4:00 did you use? Maybe try to show in your next videos what tools you clicked on instead of your face...

Which software is this? I need to fix a picture of my grandfather and I from my college graduation.
Apparently it's Photoshop but doesn't elaborate what version, and what OS he's using.
You saved my life lol
Nice 😁
Why so less views man? You deserve way more views and subscribers based on your content.
Thanks for the good words man!
will this work on old photos?
I don't see why not. Give it a go
what's the drawback of printing it out?
It would probably show very grainy once it’s enlarged because he mentions it also increases the noise (grainy texture)
2:24 starts of tutorial.
Thank you
