Phase Rush is a really strong rune as well since it helps you go for those short R > Awakened R trades and then back off while the storm chases them. Storm movement speed scales with Udyr's own movement speed so PR makes it move significantly faster.
i would say in this matchu against a vayne that phase rush tech would've had more value but in a traditionally top where you face against a melee top laner grasp is 80% of the time better you get a stronger longterm investment per grasp stack

I am doing good against him with fiora , but that is because players haven't fully known him yet. Udyr needs to be tuned down a bit on his w. With full tank build and maxed w the dude is basically immortal post 4 items ( my build is sunfire frozen heart FoN and spirit visage max w and r btw )
Sustain bruisers might be really good into udyr. basically people who don't mind standing near udyr. Like Darius, renekton, fiora, nasus, illaoi, yorick.. get a little bit of magic resist like hexdrinker and udyr's damage gets reduced by a lot. Most people get surprised by udyr's pre 6 all in. If you get him low enough he has to use passive on w to heal, which hurts his ability to poke by a lot. Basically you trade hard with him whenever he does not have the empowered attack, a bit like renekton with fury.
As a trundle top otp, udyr has been a joy to play. His empowered w is a similar "bait" mechanic like trundle r, e speed is similar to trundle w. Except udyr provides actual wave clear and hard cc.

Lillia is a good counter, % health dmg and anti melee in general, her q is so easy to poke with and shove wave of needed. She is also quick with stacks of passive so easy to keep up/keep away from udyr
Any champion that can attack out of udyrs r range is a good match up to him
lillia is good for kiting, if the udyr take the 1v1 all in, he will die but tbh no udyr gonna take the fight with lillia ,they just buy another doran shield, spam R to push back and farming. Later, lillia can't stop him or out dmg, out tank, out cc him in anyway, kinda busted champ ngl
teemo and renekton are the best counters, if riot nerfs him i assume that they remove the flat healing you get back from the w and lower the base damage off his r2, then buff his q a tad to move him into the jg.

counters are something like lillia... stuff that actually scales against u and has anti tank kit
@@colinmitchell1575 you take press the attack his q negates udyr e your w last longer than his e move speed. you clearly went vs someone that didnt understand how the champ works. renekton plus a compatent jg with dive udyr on repeat. idc what your personal exp is wioth the matchup this is coming from chalengers that understand the matchup.
I didnt think Udyr was going to be available for worlds. Thought RIOT said it was going to be not pickable.
Riot said Udyr won't be playable at Worlds because he hasn't been out long enough to balance properly.
It reminds me of how picks like Volibear and pre-nerfed Hecarim could build tank items and still kill anything.
Yorick is a very good counter to Udyr. Cage stop him from running away especially as most Udyr's don't take flash. Maiden gives %max HP damage to and with Divine Sunderer you can outtrade Udyr very well.
udyr can just kite him late game tho

I feel like Nasus might be a counter (or just a solid pick vs udyr)
Feel like nasus is going to get run over
no shit man, udyr quite hard counter to nasus because he has so much slow, keep stunning nasus and kiting without taking the fight so nasus can't heal back or get close, soon or late nasus will get burn down
Udyr is obviously a little strong right now... after some power gets taken out of his kit (probably in the form of health regen or base armor/mr) i suspect lilia and shen will match up pretty well against udyr
Had someone in one of my ranked games go this build and easily 1v4ed my team with only 2 items. It's actually so broken.
could you do some jungle reviews? im playing at diamond3 and i feel so lost sometimes
midbeast is more lost than you in the jungle
one of the better counters is gwen from what i’ve tested, i think kalista top would also work tho
oh and also first strike camille
garen is good. the silence and armor pen on his e. his r gives real kill potential as well.
renekton is a nightmare matchup for udyr too since he makes your W shield useless
Ive been playing udy jg going Q max tri force into BORK then rageblade then wits its basically on hit im silver 1 but my winrate is 57% outta 37 games the damage is pretty slept on w max second aswell its pretty crazy and no one expects you to one shot everyone the Q scales with on hit and does max health % so you one shot everyone with your Q especially the empowered q

I have not a lot of success with him top even if he is easy champ, I feed like hell. I haven't tried the phase rush or the grasp though, maybe this helps.
Rammus top on the other hand is kinda op though.

In hindsight, that udyr player was a bit balsy in his attacks, that’s why druttut’s kayle can run him down (tbf his kayle is insane). So there might be a slight chance the high elo player didn’t know how to fully maximize udyr. But still I do feel Kayle and Gnar will be brutal against udyr.

The Q is really annoying for udyr to deal with and once Kayle get 6 it's very hard to get on top of her as Udyr
Udyr is great from lv 4-11 and falls of quite heavily after, esp. in teamfights.
Udyr Jungle is at 52.5% in EUW rn, pretty strong!
Udyr got no ultimate but simply stronger versions of all his basic abilities with a shared cd based on level.
He doesnt fall off bro. He's strongest point is late game.
udyr is not fall off man... he is one of a few champs that have high base stats per lvl and get most advantage on lvl up thank to his kit
How would gragas be into this. Feel like phase rush gragas can at least neutralize the lane

I faced a Sylas top as Udyr. I smashed him early levels, but when he hit level 6 he stole my R and absolutely melted me with it. I don't know if the interaction is bugged, but he did so much more damage than me, despite having half my farm, and he was able to steal another ult almost immediately after.

Udyr R deals %max hp magic damage scaling off of ap and sylas is op because he used his 60 second cooldown ability to copy udyr’s 5 sec cooldown one?
@@notquiteaweebyet1054 If you read my comment, you'll see that his "60 second cooldown ability" wasn't a 60 second cooldown. He stole my ult and melted me, then stole my jungler's ult and killed him. He had half my farm at level 6 and wiped the floor with me, despite me dominating him up to that point.
So yes, he is OP and his ult is bugged when against an Udyr.

I don't get all this talk about Udyr top. Like jungle it's completely broken. The game is unplayable versing this pick. And I used It to climb while I was hardstuck for a while. I easily started winning games, really feeling the champion unfairness.
