I've watched Ipswich play a lot this season and Delap is a very good player. I don't see overt weaknesses. He's obviously got a lot to improve the overall game but his touch is good, can use his head (nobody uses their head at Chelsea), his shot is accurate, he's a big physical and courageous kid that'll stick his head in a tight spot and he's got that intense mentality where he makes it hard on defenders physically. Chelsea really could use some of that intangible as they're a bunch of creampuffs for the most part. I like a number of different strikers, Duran Duran is very good and yes I'd absolutely pay the Villa valuation. He'll score goals. I have continued to be impressed with Muniz, again, a physical center forward. Evan Ferguson is another good young striker but he tends to get injured too often for my liking. Any of these strikers are better than Jackson and I'd be excited for any of them given what I've seen at Chelsea. As for Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, absolutely Chelsea should be going after him. Chelsea need top footballers and despite the quantity of the wingers, the quality needs improved on significant as the wingers don't really rack up the G&A. They're down a winger with Mudryk so there's an argument for the need and I'd rather Kvaratskhelia than any of what Chelsea have now on the wing. I would hate to see such quality go to United.

When you think of proper number 9’s that are in the “elite” bracket that you can 100% rely on, the list isn’t very big. You would think Harry Kane but he does play a false 9 which is not out and out striker, but is on the elite tier. But the list is down to him, Haaland, Lautaro Martinez, Mbappe, and Lewandowski. Maybe a few more on top of that at most. Those are strikers who are in a decent age range for proper strikers. Gyokeres for example is a big name, marmoush with his form, Thuram, etc. but none of these players are at a level where you put them top 5 in the world just purely based on them not being known as consistent top level performers. So ideally the list is quite small for strikers that are a dream and most strikers now are a risk in a Chelsea shirt, so the striker situation in the world is unfortunately very tough.

On the other side we’ve signed proven strikers that haven’t worked out also… Shevchenko. That being said I wouldn’t be against the signing of Delap.

Delap would be a better option to me than Osimen,why l say that is that the former is familiar with the type of play the premier league provides but the later has no idea how the premier league is all about. With the type of players we have and the opportunities we often create, those would be easily buried by Delap. Jackson is a very good player but if he is injured, that would be it. My opinion.

Who ever we choose, Delap or Gyokeres we won't be wrong as they both hold ball very good, stong and fast. Our wings will bang more goals with those kind of players, and not Jackson.

One thing I cannot understand is how good players we buy become weaker at Chelsea, while the opposite happens with the weak players we sell-they immediately become better at other clubs. Not all the players, but the majority of them.
If you break the wage structure for Williams, then Palmer, Caicedo, Cucu, maybe also Fernandez, Jackson, and Fernandez will all need big bumps as well. And then FFP/PSR/wtf will be an issue
I like Liam Delap and wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to sign him but at the same time he isn’t proven in the premier league. He’s still making his bones. Definitely has the potential to become something special so it is a gamble. Some gambles work out look at Cole Palmer. They are both from the same stock coming through city. On the other side we’ve signed proven strikers that haven’t worked out also… Shevchenko. That being said I wouldn’t be against the signing of Delap.
