I'm trying to learn the sandblasting I've been installing now for 5 years my great uncle invented a machine for installing it's the Brower monument setter he doesn't have any kids and I ran heavy equipment for years so I came to work with him now I want to learn more about the industry so you're videos help so thanks I'm in Toronto Ontario
It’s always a gamble using a new stencil! I have had some rolls that didn’t react the same as the previous one and I always wondered if it had been stored too long somewhere on its way to me.
Hey I’m from Texas my family owns a funeral home and they asked if I could start a small service like this going out to cemetery and blasting the death date on the stones I have serious questions is there anyway I could speak to u guys
For the bang for the buck we’ve found that U blast is the best for us. It weeds well and holds up pretty good blasting. Also one of the easiest to get right now.
We find U -blast is extremely in consistent . We have to clean the cutter as it transfers adhesive to the sprockets as well as earlier the year the stencil was really hard causing the stencil cutter motor to get hot and causing waves in the lines . It’s been a rough year lol . Hopefully as we are hearing 3 M may get back into the business
We had similar issues as you guys. Our biggest complaint was it says to not use any glue and we do double processing and hartco just didnt stick to a steeled panel. If you do use anchor or other typical memorial glue/filler it just turns into an ice rink. I even tried water based acrylic and other spray glues like 3m with no luck. We do 5000+ memorials a year so anchor is the only thing keeping us alive right now with high output production. I really do love the lil mom and pop shop you guys have tho, doing as many memorials as we do in a year is so stressful.
Yes I can only imagen how crazy doing that many monuments a year would be. We are glad anchor is working well. We have been told Wenzco is working on new Rubber will see how that comes out I'm hoping it will be more like 3M.
@@-gravestonepros We are finally finishing our last pallet of 3M - They really screwed us- What did you guys use to replace? and why aren't you weeding the stencil first? and transfer tape it? curious?
So, I am very new to the sandblasting world, I work for a funeral home and we have decided to start doing our own sandblasting, we bought an SCM Sandblaster and are using their stencil at this time, just wondering with the Anchor Stencil, is there a certain model of stencil you use, I see on their website that Anchor Gold Double liner looks to be the better. Just wanted to see if you could give me any advise? Thank you very much and love your videos.
Okay, that stencil SUCKS. It's extremely messy (a lot of glue). Plus it's difficult to pluck (weed). Go back to Anchor. Hope y'all didn't have the same problems we ran into. The letters have a tendency to move because of glue on the stencil.

That thought always crosses my mind when using a new roll that's acting strange.

Foe my 2 cents, I switched from HartCo to UBlast awhile back and have been happy ever since!!!
I few guys are saying they like UBlast I will have to try it. Are you doing double processing?

Maybe I will look into U blast.
Really? I found Ublast to be horrible. My plotter hates it and so do I lol I miss 3M
@@jimmyrifle I miss 3M too but I have not tried the Ublast yet.

Anchor has been our top performer for over 15 years, and I've tried them all.
We have used Anchor for a long time its good but I have always liked 3M better.

@@-gravestonepros I really do miss a nice fresh roll of 3m 519 😆 Anyways, I enjoy your content. Keep up the good work.
@@articulat3d Thanks will try.

@@2ndTimothyOutreach We are using Anchor now. We use a two step stencil so there is no need for transfer tape.
Where'd you get that awesome exacto knife? Amazon?
Yes I used to get them from Walmart but now Amazon.

Hey Bob we use Anchor 790YT we like it good enough I have not used SCM so don't know anything about them.
OK thank you very much
@@bobhill1048 Your welcome.
The reason why Hartco cuts so hard is because all of their product lines contain PVC vinyl.
Interesting.

I did not have that problem but we did go right back to Anchor for now.
I tried it doing death dates, took it back the same day and told the boss, nope.
Currently using anchor.
lol.
We are using Anchor as long as we can get it.
