      In my city from May to October humidity lies between 75% to 95%. Cooling doesn't help. We need AC or dehumidifier.

    You need to rout the airflow throw some copper tubing that winds through the ice. The heat transfer would be much improved I think. It won’t be long before you have to get more ice however, making it a bit impractical. If you are getting your ice from a refrigerator in the same room, that refrigerator is generating more heat producing the ice, than the cooling effect you get by using the ice in your homemade air con. All that said, it’s a fun little project, so kudos on the video.

      There is another thing, the thermal sensation depends on the humidity of the air in the environment. 40 degrees in the desert is more comfortable than 40 degrees in a humid place.

    Fridge consumes electricity and generates heat when making ice cubes. Then you blow ice cubes using electric fan. In total, you turn more electricity into heat, end up higher room temperature.

    • @villapuente
      @villapuente 4 года назад

      The fridge is working 24/7 so you really don't spend extra electricity!

    Use a big pickle bucket, or a real beer portable cooler that holds a lot of ice and bolt a small moped 12v battery under lid 'sealed' in a plastic ..to make this portable, and longer lasting imho for an improvement, maybe add a solar panel on top to help charge the battery when not in use, and the power supply plugin as a charge also when turned off with a 12v gauge to show power and use for other plugin devices to charge a phone etc..and a small thermometer to show temp. eh?

  • @jl3390

    Other than being inefficient at best, this is waaaay over complicated. Just use a fan rated for household current (like from a scrap microwave) and cut a hole in the top for air to escape. Done.
