  • Today, I will show you how to cook a speedy full roast dinner with no stress using just a few appliances-an Airfryer, an Instant Pot, and a microwave. We will turn an average chuck/cube roll into a delicious high-end roast beef, served with cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, and Yorkshire puddings, with a little bit of gravy! Sounds good-it is!
    Total time cooking and on the table - 1 hour 20 mins!! Yes, it could be less.

    Yes Rik, my Spanish mother-in-law introduced me to this style of cooking beef but she cooked it all in the pot with olive oil, salt, onion and garlic with a dash of cognac and very finely chopped green pepper. She took the meat out sliced it. Liquidised the gravy then returned it to the pot. Just yum. I still do this with the rest of our uk yorkshires, veg, roast pots etc. Look at that fabulous.🎉

    Watched this cooking video very carefully as I am planning to make a fork tender beef roast this month and Yorkshire puddings are a life long favourite ... making these in memory of my grandmothers. As a teenager and young woman I did not pay enough attention plus this modern method is resonating with my kitchen small appliances. Times change and portion quantities change due to smaller household sizes.

    • @BackyardChef
      @BackyardChef  2 дня назад +3

      Agreed! You got this. If you use the same appliances - its easy! I always cook the meat joint in the pressure cooker - its a dump it in and take it out - its cooked. Then finished for crust. Thank you. Best, Rik

    Excellent illustration how to use different appliances in concert to get a lovely dinner on the table quickly with no stress. Very useful every day and even more so on holidays. Those who have a hard time on Thanksgiving would definitely benefit from this.
    I'm sure you included the microwave oven on purpose but here's my tip-I steam the whole head of cauliflower in the IP. Steam setting for 0 minutes. It comes out tender with just enough bite. Easy to cut, slice, or roast whole and you don't get those little BBs everywhere.
    Have you ever made a whole cauliflower spread with mustard/mayo, topped with cheese and roasted? Tasty and attractive.

    OMG! I want to adopt you! ;) Anyone knows there is no way to get a rare chuck roast (it would be tough as nails). You only get that with an expensive roast slow roasted in the oven. I've cooked chuck in a dutch oven in the oven with veggie and in an oven baking bag with veggies... haven't tried meat in my Instant Pot yet. Mostly just use it for spaghetti in meat sauce in 8 minutes. Will have to try this for sure! Still trying to get brave enough to try Yorkshires. Haven't ever had them... but everything else you put on that plate are things I know I love! Thank you again, Chef. You are brilliant! Shirley in NH

    Looks and I bet tastes fantastic Rik. Great tip with the baking soda in with the potatoes when boiling.
    Love beef and to the best of my knowledge my ancestors ran a Butcher's shop in Kirkstall Road, Leeds towards the end of the 19th and early 20th century.
    Our main Sunday roast as a family growing up was mostly beef, lamb and pork. Loved picking at the Crispy beef fat from the joint. Of course with any fat left and from the cooking juices the most glorious beef dripping was made by my Mother for spreading on your toast for days to come!
    P.S. Love the fact that you're actually eating and enjoying the food at the end Rik so viewers can see the Chef enjoying his own cooking too. Just gives it that bit of extra "Je ne sais quoi!"

    Hi Rik, Glad to see you mastered the york'ies from the early days of trial and error with your new oven, do you think putting the a whole onion in the pot with the chuck would have given the gravy a intense flavour, i do cook a lot of my meat in this way in the pot, i find it stops the chicken from going stringier, Good job Rik can't wait for the next one!!!!

    I'm subscribed but all the videos on RUclips everywhere are swamped with adverts. So I click on the video, copy the URL, and then paste that into a web browser where I'm not signed into RUclips and watch it there because of the ad-blocker. So I imagine me watching it will probably count as a view but not subscribed.
    Unfortunately, RUclips are wrecking RUclips.

      What I have been told is the viewers have to watch at least 30 seconds of a commercial in order for the channel owner to get paid by the commercial company. I have heard this from different sources. Since you skip the ads you are not helping the RUclips channel owner.
