I remember watching trains on the S line when it was SCL in the 70s. It was a well maintained signaled single track main. Also remember visiting an SCL dispatch facility somewhere east of Raleigh that was a modern ctc control center. I’m sure that’s been gone for years. I’ve always thought it was a huge loss for the state that the S line wasn’t saved somehow. I’m glad efforts are being made to reopen it for intercity rail passenger service.

Yes they do. Both NS and RJ Corman. The most active is the afternoon on the weekday.
