Agreed, but as a guitarist playing a lot without a pick I really like the way bass players 'slap' or play with their fingers and especially Flea. You've gotta admit that he is great and has a great musical and rhythmical feeling. Cheers ;o)
haha yeah definitely...fingers are a lot more versatile since u can slap and pop with them as well as run with them xP...hahah flea is one of my primary influences so of course i agree lol..he rocks and is definitely one of the pioneers in bassing
@MojoPenguin its a matter of preference really...plus u get completely different sounds while using the fingers or the pick....i myself prefer using my fingers, but u cant necessarily say fingers are "better"....flea himself uses a pick in some songs... (don't forget me and parallel universe are examples)...to be an awesome bassist like him, u gotta be flexible with both
