A lot are either ignorant to those outside their own federation/circle or they are unaware that a form of powerlifting is part of the paralympics.
However, there are those who do love/are fans of strength no matter the sport, discipline, federation, etc. Not enough mind you.

This might be the most impressive lift I have ever seen. How did this guy not get more attention? Dude didn’t use a belt, sleeves, nothing. He had no legs for leg drive either. I almost thought this was fake. Absolutely unbelievable.

Do not forget that this an olympic athlet and he has periodic doping control. And this is maybe the only doping free +300kg raw bench press in the world. Raw or equipped, the other power lifters relation with steroid is a reality.

the grey weights are 50kg [not bumper]. the red plates are 25kg bumper plates

Would anyone be able to explain how is this 310kg? Am working with exact same plates in my gym and they are red 25, blue 20, yellow 15kg. For those who don't believe, you can even see on 31seconds red plates on the left side and it states 25kg. The blue ones are more narrow as well and they are 20kg. So this is more like 180kg. (still impressive tho.) but I don't get how this would be the state weight? 🤔
The inner ones aren't 20kg blues, they are black 50kgs. The denser black weights aren't designed to be dropped hence why you don't see them on the normal platform lifts. I don't think they are a standard colour though!
4x50kg (Black)
2x25kg (red)
2x15kg (yellow)
2x2.5kg (little red)
2x2.5kg (collars)
1x20kg (bar)
Total 310kg

I hate to be that guy but there is no way that the green plates are 50kg they literally look smaller then the standard red 25kg and weigh double the amount. And if you look at his heaviest comp other than the paraolympics bench was a 617 bench done literally 2 years later while gaining 40 lbs of body weight. Keep in mind no injuries to my knowledge.

@@tavi7808 that’s my point I even assumed all of the plates on the bar were the heaviest possible plate in which the heaviest plate in competition is 25 kg/55 lbs. it only adds up to 485 with a 45 lb bar. Their are only 4 plates on each side. At most each one can weigh 55 lbs. that gets a total of 485. Plus his heaviest bench in competition is 525 outside of Olympic committee. And it was within 1 year of this competition

Not taking anything away from this man's strength and mental toughness, but that is not 310kg. First of all, the plates don't add up. Looking at the plates on that bar, there is only 200kg at most that is loaded (20kg bar+ 4x 20kg plates + 2x 25kg plates + 2x 10kg plates + some change plates= 185-200kg). Second of all, there is no way that a human being can bench that weight with no leg drive completely RAW if it was 310kg. Not to mention it was without a lift off makes me even more certain that this isn't real.
