I don't think that was the real Spencer in the farmhouse, I'm pretty sure that was her twin tbh. She basically helped Hanna escape, but if she was the real Spencer, why wouldn't she try to escape too? Both girl could have similar personalities (them speaking intelligently and stuff), so that's why Hanna wasn't thrown off by anthing.
If the twincer theory is accurate, the real Spencer was who Hannah saw. She seemed worried for her friend and told Hannah to think and there must be a way out. Also it seems weird that Spencer would get together with Caleb. But it seems Marlene is hinting that Bethany Young is related to Aria. If I just watch PLL clues from the episodes, I get the Ezra and BY, which is twincer are working together. If I just listen to Marlene, I get all sorts of confused. lol
I think they switched her. I think Twincer is setting her up for Spencer to go to jail. And once evidence is there and the cops are ready, Twincer will leave and let Spencer go and take the fall for Archer and Charlotte. Hanna killed Archer but by the way the cops are gathering evidence it looks as if it is Spencer.

Tbh no, ali having a twin would actually fix the errors and plot holes in Ali's personality and why they never explained her actions in a lot of the flashbacks. The two kissing rock scene ? The bloody lips? The curly hair and then the straight hair on the next scene, the clip with her brother when she lied and said "I remember that day it was fun" but then her brother says how that day was bad? The list goes on and on and after they fucked up in 6x10 I don't see them fixing the plot holes.
True, Alison could end having a twin or just spilt personality. In the books she had a twin, Courtney so she could have.

The same was in the book, just with Alison. Alison´s twin Coutney pretend to be Alison on Rosewood High School, because she wanted to have new friends (and boom, she found Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Emily like the first)... Alison was all the time on Radley. But she wasn´t the sick one. It was Courtney all the time. When Alison finaly run away from Radley, she killed Courtney and she told to the girls the truth. She never wanted to have "looser friends" and she tried to kill them. I think that Marlene do the same on the show... Yep, and sorry for my english :)

that's not really what happened in the Books.in the books,Alison pushed Courtney into pretending to be her,and when their parents found out that Courtney was trying to be like Alison,they thought she was crazy and sent her to radley.then one day when Courtney was visiting home from radley she switched places with Ali and befriended the girls,and Alison got taken back to the mental institution in her place.after that,Ali swore to herself that she would get revenge on Courtney and the girls for ruining her perfect life.And on "that night"she snuck out of the institution and killed Courtney.then after Mona was revealed as A,she took over the A game herself.

With all of the theories now on RUclips about PLL I've literally gone Back to season 1 bc I'm so effin confused. Then I realize it's the plot holes that is most of the confusion. My partner pointed out that the show has "gone rogue" bc Nothing really makes a hell of a lot of sense after the time leap. I also think season 7 which I've not seen all of yet as I'm re-watching PLL, is "for the fans" and to plain and simply "wrap it up" and end it.
Pretty Little Liars is so confusing and I don't know if it's just me but my head hurts after watching it! Ha ha. You are right, after the time jump everything has gotten weird and even more confusing and I don't know if the show will end well because some of the new episodes have been quite disappointing. This is so obvious but the girls said they didn't know who A.D was until the end and that's why Spencer's twin can't be A.D. Maybe Bethany, third child of Mary Drake?

I'd be SOOO upset if this turns up to be true. This show is already unrealistic and sometimes just cringy with it's all plots. I mean Cece beaing Charlotte aka Charles aka A who is transgender? Spencer twin would be another pointless and nonsense idea...

I heard this theory a couple of times so I bet a lot of people are expecting this :D I understand why you say so (scene with Spencer, Wren and Ezra was sooooo weird) but I'd be just so unrealistic just like Cece's story :( But the video is good anyway!

I actually stopped watching PLL after the whole Cece-mess you described. It seems like the whole twin-Spencer-story is true? Well I can say, that in the books Alison had a Twin and Marlene actually stated in an interwive, that she wants a different plot and that she wants to go away from the whole Twin-Scenario. This is actually really, *really* disappointing to know, that a show that I once loved turned out so bad at the end.
I think that the whole Spencer having a twin thing would make perfect sense. Spencer's twin kidnapped her before the time jump. Her twin put her in that place Hanna was in, and Spencer found a way out when Hanna was there. Her sister is ad, and since we saw Sydney in the limo with Aria, "Spencer" could have Sydney sending the texts for her when "spencer" can't send them herself. Spencer's twin was kept in the mental ward with Mary, so Mary,Charlotte, and the twin were all there. "Spencer" and Charlotte became great friends. Remember when Charlotte said "Lord help the mister, who comes between me and my sister". Charlotte was referring to Spencer's twin, and Peter took her out of the mental ward and sent her off to another one because he didn't want her near Charlotte. Spencer's twin is finally released from the ward during the time jump, and she goes looking for her sister so she can take over her life. I won't forget this, she started the game. In the first A reveal, Mona asks Spencer to join the A team. TEAM. The night Bethany died, the twin escaped radley. She recruited Charlotte and Mona to work on the a team, not telling Mona that Charlotte will soon be taking over. To Mona, the "team" was just her and the twin. "Spencer" told Mona to kill Bethany, but obviously that wasn't enough. Charlotte saw her, checked her pulse, and went to find Melissa (Charlotte knew that that was Bethany and knew she was still alive and wanted her dead). She went and told Melissa Spencer killed Alison. She told her where her body was, and Melissa went and buried her. That would explain why Melissa didn't check her pulse, because she's smart enough to do that. Back to present day, the twin is ad, and she's there to find Charlottes killer. She still has all control over Spencer's life. Spencer escapes, and her and her friends go to the blind school. The twin shoots Spencer because she wants to stay as Spencer so she can get closer to Toby. That's my theory, sorry if there's something that doesn't make sense.

Pretty Little Videos I think it's one of the only ways the show can end. There's a lot of clues to it, and it would be heartbreaking because ad would basically be Spencer

If you watched the final episode though, she was pretending to be Spencer when Hanna was “ dreaming” , when she was looking at the photos, when she was talking to Wren, when she kissed Toby for the last time and when they had slept together. And also the other people who seemed sketchy were all pawns in A.D's game. Mary damn well knew she had a twin b/c she gave birth to them and basically sold one for a ticket out of radley
Also I think A.D shot her. B/c Jenna is blind as hell she probably didnt shoot squat

I also think that Spencer has a twin and that the twin is A.D. But I think they both were alive all along so sometimes its Spencer we sees and sometimes its her twin, who's probably is Bethany or maybe Avery you know Sara Harvey's friend who was busy sleeping ( I connect that to Spencer cause they both were taking drugs) but i hope its Bethany cause we know that Jessica had an affair with both Spencer's and Bethany's dads and if they're twins it would make senes. I know that Bethany is dead but they also thought that Alison was dead and they buried another body so who says they can't be wrong again? Another proof we got is when Hanna was kidnapped/abducted had she a hallucination about Spencer being there and helping her escape. She said ''If A.D. can get in an out, so can you'' or something like that. 3 things that was weird about this first that Spencer had her old hairstyle like if I hallucinate/think about my friends I wouldn't think about they with the haircut they had 5 years ago. The second thing is that she called the new A, A.D, I mean they got the first message signed by A.D when Hanna already was kidnapped so thats a thing I thought was weird. The last thing that she asked her was if she told A.D the truth. I mean Spencer was in the room when Hanna and Caleb told everyone about the plan, so if it was Spencer why would she asks that if she already knew that they didn't know who killed Charlotte? But if it is Spencer's twin who didn't she know if they told her the truth or not. Last clue I can remember now is when Spencer and Aria went to meet Dr Cochran he told them that he took care of two of Mary's children. Is it just me but doesn't that sound like she had more than 2 children? So what I mean with that is that Mary had 3 children, Spencer, Charlotte and Spencer's twin (probably Bethany since Jessica wanted Bethany to call her aunt Jessica.) So what I think is basically that Bethany and Spencer are twins and that Bethany is A.D. Hope you understand what I mean and that I got it all right and that my spelling is Ok
I agree completely! Spencer talking to Hanna when she was kidnapped was a big clue and as you said why would she ask that question if she was there when they explained it. Jessica did ask Bethany to call her Aunt Jessie which makes sense if she actually was her aunt. Do you remember when Ali's hand came out the mud and we saw that clip twice. One of them was Ali and she was pulled out by Mrs Grunwald but the other one wasn't the same and we don't know who that was. I really hope the Spencer and Bethany story is true! It also makes sense because both Spencer and Bethany have been in Radley. I think Bethany's real name is Avery because we never met Avery. I mean , Avery Drake. Hardly anyone would see that coming.
Exactly and Marlene also said that the letters A.D is a clue for A.D's identity so if it's Avery Drake it would make sense. Another thing is that we know is that its a she cause Ian said in an interview talking about A.D something like ''Bla Bla her'' so then we know its a she. AND at a picture at Troian's instagram I think was she wearing a blonde wig, and Bethany is blonde so maybe. So this theory would make a lot of sense. I really want this theory to be true tho I'm gonna be so disappointed if it isn't! X

First off the music is annoying and nobody reads that fast.
But anyways, every theory that I've read I always ask myself, if this person. Is AD what is THEIR reason for hating Hannah more then the rest of the girls and why aria has it the "easiest". And most of the time it just never makes any sense.
I fucking hate this show but at the same time can't stop watching it till I know.
I'm glad someone else has noticed that they seem to really really pick on Hannah. When her turn came up again I felt so bad for her, and Aria's face was just like 'Shit, my bad'. Aria is barely getting any bad treatment at all. Literally, her only drama isn't even A.D related, being the whole Nicole thing. So if A.D is willing to add Aria to her 'team', why put her on the board the begin with? Is Aria even a target at all?

I agree with this. While I don't think Ezra is A.D., I do think Ezra could be working with A.D. and is protecting Aria. I also think that Aria's 'punishment' with having to turn against her friends to protect Ezra is Ezra's way of testing Aria to make sure she will love him above all else.
Great theory, but please leave the text on the screen longer. Some advice from a media design student: when playing the footage back, are you able to read the text within the time you applied? If yes, then add /at least/ 2 more seconds to it. If no, double the time.

The only thing that is a fault in part of the theory supporting it, is that the theme song was never written for the show. It was actually written and created before and Ashley Benson, aka Hanna Marin, "heard the song and pitched it to the producers and creator of Pretty Little Liars, they eventually went ahead and made it the show's theme song." And while it could be a coincidence that the lyrics lined up with the show's plot so they saw the need to use it, the song wasn't brought up by the director or producers, not even the creator, but by Ashley whom wouldn't have known about the 'twin spencer plot.'
But other than that, amazing job!!

For sure Spencer has a split personality. Through all seven seasons you can see hints for that.
Remember the pilot when Spencer went with shovel after Ali, she had no memory when came back.
Melissa always protecting her sister, because she knew that Spencer was sick. Mona is an addict as we know so is Spencer. Both are super smart and Mona revealed herself to Spencer.
Also Spencer was kind of protected all the time from all the A.

I think its very interesting that Troian did know way before all the others who AD who be. Partly she insisted to know but I think also because she had to know since she had to start to play a different character partly.

Besides being a split personality allows Spencer to get forgiveness from the girls afterwards, because at the end of the day she is sick and who cant forgive a sick girl?
I think this is so smart! If Spencer is A.D I will be sad but also so happy! It would make sense because they know each others secrets and they know each other so well, it would explain all the mysterious texts saying their secrets if one of the liars were A.D.
Great vid :) I really would not like another twin plot, but it seems the airport scene in last episode pretty much confirmed the existence of Spencer's long lost sibling. Also, her personality change seems rather obvious now that you've pointed it out.. Honestly I can't believe I hadn't noticed it myself. However, Ali has ALSO undergone a HUGE change in character, far more noticeable than in Spencer's case.. She basically went from being a complete sociopath to a sensitive, compassionate, easily-overwhelmed girl. So I kind of expect(ed) her to have a twin. But I also heard a rumour that the cast wouldn't go with the whole Courtney thing (thank god btw, THREE sets of twins would be a bit over the top).
Anyway, since you seem to believe Bethany is alive, who - if anyone - do you think died on the night Ali got missing?
Thank you! I hope if there is a twin then the back story is very amazing and adds up all the missing pieces of the puzzle. Alison has changed a lot, personality wise, but she has gone through so much maybe she wanted to be good and Emily kind of turned her into a sweet person. Alison could have a twin but Sasha said that Alison wasn't going to. The Courtney theory would be bad because everyone would suspect it. I think Bethany was hit by Mona, buried by Melissa and pulled out of the ground by a drugged Spencer, she didn't remember talking to Alison that night so maybe she pulled Bethany out and forget cause she was taking drugs? now that we know that A. D. is her twin we know in what scenes she was in I believe that all this is just ptsd that Spencer has about her past also the girl in the grave in the intro Marlene said that she has some parts of the girls like Hanna's hair etc.

From what I've heard, the dead girl in the theme song has one part of all 5 liars. The eyes are Hanna's, the lips are Emily's, the dress is Spencer's, the Nail's are Aria's and the hair is for Alison.

She was the original black veil lady. And it never got answered who that was. Or why she was wearing that.
It makes sense for that to be the twin.
Melissa remembers things spencer don't. Spencer remembers things that Melissa don't. Spencer once said to the girls " this is exactly the kind of things that almost got you shot in the back of a nightclub aria" - when they ganged up on her about her addictions in season 4. - what kind of memory was that? Probably the twin's.
Spencer said she recognized Charles in the mask. Someone you vaguely remember from the past. Like a long lost cousin. And they were the same height when they stood next to each other.
Now in season 7 we've seen the two. At least four times.
1: when she was looking through her baby Album (wearing and old school spencer striped shirt. )
2: wearing that same shirt in the scene when she kisses Toby goodbye before he leaves with Yvonne.
3: in the airport with wren.
4; now kissing and having sex with Toby in the cabin even mentioning their last kiss.
....
I think for sure she has a twin. No question. But I actually don't think the twin is AD. I Think if at all she's just a helper. I think TOBY is AD. "Mr pretty eyes". Which he was called AGAIN in season 6. And because he is AD, I think he either 1: knows that THAT Was not spencer sleeping with him. (Because ad would know) or 2: the twin is Toby's helper in crime and their whole conversation about "that doesn't sound like the spencer I know" was him correcting her on her portrayal of spencer - that she doesn't sound like her and should practice. And this was their " we soon have won this game -sex". Haha
What do you think? I seriously think Toby is ad and the twin is either his helper or an innocent outcast impersonating her sister because she is obsessed with her life.
That is such a good theory! It really wasn't Spencer in the scene with Toby, she was so different and you are right about the other scenes too. Spencer has so many twin clues how could she not have a twin. Maybe she is jealous because Spencer got adopted, maybe she didn't. Maybe she was kept in Radley (I think it is Bethany). Remember that girl Avery, I think that was Bethany. Avery Drake. A.D. If that is I will be so happy. Maybe she was jealous because they had families and they had love. And maybe she thought it was all spencers fault she was in radley whiole spencer was spending time with their real mum.

hey do you remember the intervention that was held for spencer and her drug issues? When Spencer wanted to tell Aria about Ezra being 'A'? A prescription from Wren fell out of her bag and many say that in last weeks ep it was Spencers twin that was with Wren at the airport. I think this might be a clue. They never brought Wren or that prescription up again nor explained its meaning.

while i am a firm believer of the twin theory you arent looking at the correct things.
1. the one at the airport was not spencer (unless in the finale we see a flashback). this person seems to have a few inches shorter hair and upon seeing ezra they wsre surprise. even ezra was surprise, but i dont think it's due to them being "Spencer". remeber he was writing a book, he knows all. also look at the guy in the table behind them, doesnt that look like lucas?
2. the doctor who deliver spencer said 'i had to deal with two of Mary's babies.' i do not think that he deliver CC, i think he delicered the twins, but the Hastings only took one of them. if not i also believe in the fact that spencer suffers from multiple personality disorder. her mother always said it was there were two of them.
3. there was always two A teams from the start. 4. A.D has had it mostly for spencer this season it seems. i think Mary may not know of the other twin, if there is one. this season we have seen three versions of spencer that make no sense. Hannah's dream, the airport, and yesterday's episode in were spencer sleeps with toby. i do not think that the one who slept with toby is spencer... spencer was wearing jeans and a white jacket when she stormed out of aria's and she has the same outfit again when she meets up with the girls. the one at toby's has a dress and black jacket on and supposdly she had been driving for a long while. also i took notice the hair difference as well. my money is on A.D being the twin or spencer with a double personality.

Plot twist : evil spencer/A.D already took over nice Spencer’s life every since Bethany knocked Ali out and when spencer came back and was awake it wasn’t because of the drugs maybe it’s because evil spencer was pretending to save herself and the real spencer is A.D (did I blow your mind )
I think when Hanna was trapped and she thought she had a dream about spencer, but I think that was Spencer's twin because there was a clear difference between that girl and spencer if you notice it...

I think that spencer has an identical twin, but who isn't Bethany, I think that her twin moved to England as a baby and this is why Wren is back in the picture, I also think this is maybe why Wren got involved with the Hastings family to start with because he knew everything about Spencer twin and wanted to find some things out. There's one particular reason in why I think she is British, in epsiode 7x10 Spencer says the line " Just one last time" Spencer says 'last' in a British accent, this wouldn't be wierd if Troian was British but she isn't, meaning this couldn't have been an accident. In this scene Spencer just doesn't seem like her self at all, she seems quite nervous. Also she is wearing completely different clothing to what she is wearing in the next scene we see her in. I believe that Spencers twin had gone to see Toby to stir trouble between the two. This is just one of the reasons why I believe this, there are loads more. But seriously go watch that scene in 7x10 and tell me that that 'last' isn't in a British accent. x

So I guess you didn't care about Bethany's body being discovered as Alison's in season 1. Which means that Bethany is DEAD since that night and couldn't ever possibly be someone's twin, especially Spencer's(duh she's blond) I know that right now Alex Drake is already revealed and your theory made some sense until you called Bethany Spencer's twin who's still alive and has replaced her.

I like your theory and a lot of it really makes sense! But just one thing, idk bbut the theme song hav eactually nothing to do with the show. Ashley Benson found it and it was written/released way before the shows pilot aired (2010) , it seems all very connecting and maybe it's true that they might have connected all back to the song, but I just mean that if everything is all calculated as it usually seems in PLL I don't believe that the theme song something to go on :))

I want to know something , if you go back to the dollhouse episodes there are three yellow tops and we see them a lot 1 time while they are preparing for Ali's arrival aria starts hanging up clothes and you see 3 of the same yellow tops , also when they arive at the dollhouse Mona has blonde hair and is wearing a yellow top , then we see Sara with blonde hair and a yellow top , and than Ali has to put on the same thing again when A instructs her to change her clothes and leave everything or the girls die , all of these girls who were in a yellow top were blonde , I don't think that was a coincidence, if it means something I haven't found out what yet comment your opinions

I have a theory that Spencer just returned to rosewood and that she was in another country the whole time. Because how else was she able to get past the gate and talk to wren. Maybe they were in the same flight and just came back to rosewood. And in 7x16 Spencer found aria's earring and at first she was confused and then gave back the earring like nothing ever happened. Maybe that's Spencer's twin. So Spencer's twin is A.D.

if Spencer has a twin sister, her biological surname would be hastings, but if her twin knows the truth then it is likely she would use the surname Drake (after Mary the same way Cece did) in her everyday shenanigans when she is not AD or pretending to be Spencer. Therefore if Spencer has a twin her initials could be A.D (A for her first name and D for Drake)

I think Hanna's dream when she was locked up is the major 'Spencer's twin' clue but honestly I wouldn't really like it if it's true and turned to be A.D. it's gonna be like the writers took the same original story from the books and made it about Spencer instead of Ali who we know it's her story that started the show. it won't really break my heart or make me feel anything but disappointement since it will be only a bad copy of what happened in the books, so if they're really going with that twin storyline I prefer to make it about Ali because it's her story and I'd hate it if in the last season they change everyhthing to make Spencer or any other character more shady or more important to the orginal story+ the Spencer twin theory can only find her place in like 6B and 7 so what!! we lost like 6 seasons with no clue about the existence of our Endgame major character!!!!!!!! seriously I need A.D. to be an original liar or a love interst that's what going to satisfy me

I think Spencer and Avery/Bethany/whoever know each other exist and they swap out every time but ever since the time leap I think Spencer never came back from the London trip or if she did, the time leap. I think when Spencer left Toby he was forced to by Avery, so she could carry out her ad plan, allowing her to kidnap Spencer int he barn hanna was tortured in. And I think when hanna was "hallucinating" she saw her friend for the first time in five years. I also think Avery AoS forcing Spencer to do the things ad can't like going out so se won't expose her identity

If the twin theory is true (i think, it could be), than some guy helped Bethany. I bet on Ezra or Caleb, no other man makes sence.
