  • Its 1992 .... way way way before camera-phones were the rage. Brentford fans are returning to Falkirk for their third trip across the border. Ever since they travelled to Airdrie to see Brentford hero Richard Cadette playing for Falkirk, it became a permanent fixture ... with Brentford fans travelling up to Falkirk at least 9 or 10 times.
This time was the first visit since Brentford's promotion to the olde second division (the championship now). The local pub welcomed the Brentford fans with specially made Brentford cocktails, Falkirk fans turned up for their match against Aberdeen in Brentford shirts ... and sang Brentford songs. All very bizarre indeed.
Richard Cadette was not actually playing in this game as her was injured. But ex-Bee Eddie May was and to his horror (he didnt have a great time down at Brentford), had to meet the fans of the team that he couldnt wait to leave.
All in all a good weekend was had once again .... the Falkirk-Brentford love-in went on for a few more years before each set of fans went on their own way.
20 years later, the bond has been reunited with ex Falkirk striker Farid El Alagui being signed by Brentford. In addition the Houstie Hardcore Eliots and the Official Unoffical/ Beesotted Brentford crew have a reunion planned in 2013 for what will no doubt be more madness .....
