He is amongst the best modern voices. Light but powerful, not overly dark, not overly covered, free.
I think Shi Yijie is the best version of this so far. Deeply admire his vocals.
He finished so effortlessly! even on the high notes! he is atually SINGING, not yelling ! amazing artist!

This performance brings me so much joy. Beautiful, free singing and expression. He sings all the way through each phrase, the high Cs are part of the line, not punctuation marks, nothing sounds pressed or pinched or forced, every word is clear. The best modern version I've heard/seen. Bravo!

Tout à fait incroyable ! La prononciation est parfaite, la voix extraordinaire, le garçon paraît très jeune mais je suppose qu'il ne l'est pas tant que ça car il est prof et fait des masterclasses. Comme c'est en chinois, je n'ai pas vraiment pu regarder longtemps car les commentaires sont très importants dans ce type de prestation. Merveilleux chanteur, je lui souhaite une longue et belle vie.

I know what you mean. I think Yijie actually has a little more weight and warmth to his voice while nothing is sacrificed with those unbelievable high notes. I can't believe I've never heard this singer before. HEAVEN. Could be one of the next greats!

Il COVID purtroppo lo ha bloccato parecchio. Prima spesso cantava in Europa ed Sudamerica, mentre ora sporadicamente si muove dalla Cina. E' anche diventato professore di canto. La sua carriera è iniziata al ROF di Pesaro.
Quest'opera comunque è disponibile su youtube in forma completa (digitare La fille du regiment NCPA 2018) insieme a Don Pasquale e Traviata concertata a Pechino, come anche altre del rof ( comte ory, Demetrio e polibio, Mose in egitto) e la favorita di donizetti Tolosa 2014.
Pues tendrá que demostrarlo cantando en la Scala y que le pidan el bis como a Flórez, y tendrá que ganar el Caruso de Oro, el Bellini, de oro, el Rossini de Oro … etc etc.
