Shhhhh😴
The label on this video is wrong. It's not the solo of the week. It's the solo of the century! You covered it expertly. Thanks for sharing the video and tab. Bravo!
haha, thanks!
Nothing makes me sadder than hearing this solo finish
froo baloo HAHA I also share that feeling, man.
***** I think we all do
I glanced the second week but its harder then this week
This has to be the highest quality and cleanest cover of this solo that exists in RUclips.
i total agree but few days ago Uncle Ben show what Marty really playing..
ruclips.net/video/E5WoxqThfwU/видео.html SICK!
check out cole rolland's cover
Check out kiko loureiro playing
Brandon Ellis
you all need to see lucio hortez cover of this solo, its actually a reincarnation of marty friedman
You can tell the solo is tough when he accidentally reveal his face.
Bruh when you bend and vibrato that good you gotta raise your head and make weird faces
This solo is pretty wacky.
@@Quikate 1:08
I can't tell tell the difference between your version and Marty's version, you played it perfectly
+Xenon631 He even nailed all the vibratos...unbelievable
This is actually a tiny bit better than Marty's... There's a mistake at the recording...
frank-182 You can't mess up in a recording of your own song. By definition however it is on the record is the correct way
No this isn't even remotely true. You can definitely mess up a recording of your own song. Nowhere is it written that one recording in a studio is the final and best version of a piece of music. Noone that has recorded any music in his/her life would say this.
dirty harry1881 youre right. often times musicians will agree theyve nailed a live version over the studio version despite having practiced it over and over again before recording. its just one of those in the moment things.
This is seriously the closest thing I've ever heard to the original. Unreal man.
you better buy this guy a ticket to Japan.... Marty wants a serious guitar battle
Even Megadeth couldn't find a guitarist nailing this solo like this dude after Friedman left. Listening to this constantly for over 5 years. Simply respect.
Bends captured perfectly
lmao imagine going to a guitar store, picking up the guitar and playing this
lol now the guitar is second hand
So after 1 year, did you do it ?
Man I can't tell you how good it is to finally see someone who CAN actually bend and vibrato properly. So many people on youtube raping my ears with their terrible bends/vibrato.
Your playing is excellent and the tab will be very helpful for a lot of people I think, congrats
yea, good vibrato is rare on RUclips.
supermeuhmeuh "raping my ears with their terrible vibrato". I gotta write that one down! Lol
@@InvisibleYetVisible sooo, do you have beef with rob or his audience?
@Yesto Hmm, a bit of both really. Rob Scallon is basically to guitars, what Jeremy Clarkson is to cars..... except Jeremy Clarkson is talented and is surprisingly creative.
Scallon's playing ability is very ordinary compared to even a normal lead session guitarist, his equipment is dog shit and his videos are usually re-hashed ideas that involve taking someone else's creativity and repackaging it with funny faces and stupid one liners. His fanboys do the rest by perpetuating the myth that he's basically Number 1 at whatever he fancies taking on this week.
Like so many before him, Scallon discovered 'punch-in' recording techniques on his mixing software for his RUclips videos. Essentially, that's the ability to create very good sounding music without having to try that hard. Just have a quick run through your crappy song, fix up all your mistakes with punch-in recording... you'll sound like a young Yngwie Malmsteen in no time..... but you have to understand, that's not real.... it's fake..... fraud..... fiction.... and when Rob and his cheeky band of fanboys turned up at that live show he did, half the audience walked out laughing at him.... cheeky Rob was laughing, but the audience weren't laughing with him, they were laughing AT him. Good thing really, otherwise Rob's head might have disappeared up his own arse, seeing as he obviously fancies himself a fair bit.
His videos are purely entertainment and not legitimate guitar videos.... now if that's what you like in a guitar video.... watered down bullshit, go for it. Enjoy them. The problem is, dorks (probably like you) jack off to him and instead of critiquing his playing, you put comments like "wow, omgzzz Rob you're better than lyk Steve vai innit". No.... He's not better than Steve Vai, well, maybe at lying and miming.
Rob Scallon represents everything that is wrong about 2013-2018 guitar videos on RUclips..... I suspect nothing will change in the future though.
InvisibleYetVisible I can't comment on the "punch-in recording" because I haven't noticed or looked for that yet. I hate reading youtube comments because you end up seeing so many terrible comments made by 12 year-olds, so that's not really my expertise either.
Rob Scallon really does feel like he just makes mainstream non-sense that appeals also to people who don't play the guitar. But I personally think Jared Dines is worse. Stevie T is kind of comparable, but his videos have arguably more entertainment value. His video ideas are good, but he's just too obnoxious and that gets old quick.
Things don't change on youtube because the audience never changes.
This is the best version Ive seen! Great great playing man! You've every nuance correct.
I agree, this actually beats all studio and live versions from megadeth that i've heard
Nope it doesn't. This is a near perfect rendition but Marty is king.
Damn right, only Marty played this song the correct way.
@ HenkBenk88 - Don't get me wrong, this is by far the best cover of the solo on RUclips easy. But he is missing a few notes here and there that are hardly noticeable even for a good ear. But to say it beats all studio and live versions? Lol, Yeah I don't think so! Marty played it much faster, cleaner, with more feel, and live in front of thousands of metal fans. He didn't play this alone in the comfort of his room with zero pressure and unlimited restarts.
+ReachBlows My judgement was clouded when I said that, Marty is nr 1 :-)! Be he didnt play it cleaner live though, with his picking technique and all, but who cares.
One of the all-time greatest guitar solos. The phrasing. Oooohhhh.
Guitargasm
simply one of the best solo's ever written. Props to the player, this one is hard as fuck.
This solo has given me the chills for 30 years. One of their best tracks. Devastating.
Solo of the century
6 Years later and its still the best solo cover
10/10. No había visto a nadie tocar ese solo tan perfectamente como tú!
this Escobar dude is just too fuckin good. Best covers on youtube, he nails everyone down to the original guitarists' tone and playing styles and plays so CLEAN. What a beast, super jealous over here.
Again the Greatest Metal Solo till 2016… You still rule Dave
It was Marty Friedman tho
I keep coming back to this video. Excellent solo played flawlessly!
Unbeliavable how good this guy is at guitar
Killed it! The best cover I've seen so far of my favourite solo.
learning this in 2024 and holy shit, this cover sounds identical to the record. believe me i’ve listened to all of them, all of them good, this one stands way the fuck out
bravo bro, if this was 8 years ago i’m scared to see the monster you gotta be now🥲
Pinch harmonics, bends all over the place, and some cool scales mixed in? How have I not heard this song a thousand times before ? Definitely need to listen to more Megadeath now!
I kept listening to this for the last 23 min now and i can still listen to this masterpiece
Yeah. Check this version ruclips.net/video/T0bRw3eV4R8/видео.html
Metallica Justice for all has similar types of solos. For example blackened; one, dyers eve, shortest straw, you name it 🙇🏻
I seriously cant think of the reasons on what basis one could dislike this video He just killed it!!!!
keep coming back to this one, Friedman was always my number one and insanely hard to copy, this truly is phenomenal playing sir!
Hands down BEST cover of this solo i ve seen on youtube!
I'm super impressed! I can't believe how accurate his playing is to every note & beat. Incredible!! thanks for great videos!!
Holy shit, this is like 110% accurate.
The vibrato you did is amazing...gosh goosebumbs,,this solo is what solo is all about..every thing is mixed,,how good marty is and you are just of that,,respect
6 years after, still headbanging to this master piece , sick freaking shredding bro
Sin palabras cerré los ojos y creí que era el mismo friedman.... Con el toque de David.
The first bend is a tricky one. You nailed it. Flawless rendition. That is uber impressive considering that not even Marty can play it as good as the recording. There is no better cover in the universe. Absolutely mind blowing.
I keep coming back to this beauty of a video at least once every 3 or 4 months
This guy plays every solo spot on... flawless
Holy crap...I can´t even say that you nailed it. You played it right on the money, maybe even a slight percentage better. The phrase from 00:26 to 00:28 was SO ON THE MONEY. A rare few can play it with such authority. Even Martin doesnt nail it every time live, but those two seconds of that solo are THE SAUCE and THE SOUL of that solo.
Very well done sir.
this is like the least difficult part of the whole song lmao
@@ermes6358man, it's the nuance. Those bends needs to play with feel, not just skill.
@@ermes6358But playing it consistently and precisely as on the record is what most fail at. That bend is THE GLUE to the solo. Done wrong, it breaks the immersion. Even Marty Friedman himself doesn't do it right every time, but you see that this guy really payed attention to the microscopic details.
Some rhythmically very tough parts just after those 16th note arpeggios.
Friedman's playing from this era was mind blowing, still get the chills when I listen to this album
What can I say that hasn't already been said... This may be the best cover I've ever seen. The bends, timing, tone, vibrato, clarity... all dead on
Perhaps the greatest solo in any metal song, as well as one of the most difficult to pull off, played perfectly. Kudos to you sir.
I can listen to this solo for days without getting tired of it
I think is is one of my favourite solos ever.
Nailed it. To date I've always said Marty's vibrato can't be duplicated. You did it. Amazing!
Nine years later and yet this is still the best Tornado of Souls' guitar cover on youtube 👏👏
How can you reach fret 17 with your index at 10? It's almost imposible!
+IVAN3DX Forget about it, metronome and hours of practise can make wonders hahaha
+IVAN3DX That's right dude!
+David Escobar Oh, by the way, amazing cover and tabs!
+IVAN3DX I've been trying for a while now, still can't make the stretch between them. My fingers are too short xD!
Captain Banter I'm still working on my speed, but I can strech it luckily haha. My guitar teacher can't even make it, so I guess it depends on the person. I started by just positioning the fingers without trying to play anything.
Holy shit dude!! That's beyond awesome! Those left hand vibrato are perfect...
I fondly remember watching David Escobar play these solo's back in Uni; over and over again, Had no idea how to even begin playing guitar. Now I am a pretty decent player. This guy means so much to me. I I wish he would come back.
Huge respect to everyone who plays this solo flawlessly like yourself. I've been trying can't even get close to your virtuosity.
Increible David , creo que este solo es uno de los mejores que has hecho enhorabuena!
Subscribed to you a week ago, and this is the solo that I really wanted to see you do. Fantastic!
so far tis guy is the best
It’s exactly 1 am. I’ve spent the last 2 hours learning this solo. I’ve only been playing for 3 years and I’ve got the first half. I will spend this weekend constantly practicing this solo
You still working on the second half? :D
@@Kraft_Funk still can’t play it right lmao, such a tricky solo
Jesus.... that was the best cover of that solo I have ever heard. Amazing.
Already listened to this video/solo 35+ times, still find it better every time
agreed
I went through a whole bunch of versions a while back, and this one stuck as the best version.
Ever since I heard it the first time, I've been coming back at least a couple of times each month just to hear it again.
Quiero decir, que de todos los covers de tornado of souls, este es el que más se parece a como lo toca Marty, es perfecto.
Wow man you really nailed that last part the descending run towards the blues lick
Probably the best cover of this solo that I've ever seen. That was truly unbelievable🤘
Nailed it. Again!
Awesome :D
mira que agradable sorpresa, que onda slayer te veo desde que subias halo principalmente
Theslayer que haces aqui hombre
this is the best cover of this I have seen note for note a lot of people crew up the last run and just tend to improv something but damn that sounded almost identical
I really like how you're slightly overintonating each note in these so it's really clear to someone learning which notes being hit. Like a language teacher sounding out each syllable. That's really good instruction. Thanks!
most accurate execution of this solo since marty friedmann very good job !
Sos el gran puto Amo ! Y de Colombia !!! No pensé que teníamos tal talento saludos papá
that bend starting at the end of bar 27 makes me spill a tear it is so beautiful
2021 and still being the best solo in heavy metal history, and you fucking rock playing it 🤘
but... can you play smoke on the wahter?
this joke become annoying as fuck
bet he can't play smells like teen spirit solo
no he can't, but he can play highway star
Yes, but can you spell it correctly?
Bellow Ordinary: If he does the keyboard parts too, that's about as impressive as the Tornado of Solos.
David, that was amazing! I love the entire RIP album... Megadeth's masterpiece in my opinion. If I didn't know better, I would think this video was sped up.. it's just too good. :)
Love that solo, it gives me the chills!
Great playing and thanks for the tab!
He slides to the big pull off while keeping time. Bravo
tremendo como siempre master!!!
Best lead guitar-solo youtube lessons!
By far the best cover I've seen of my favourite solo. Props!
This is probably the best cover I have seen of this solo online. Great job!
jesus that was incredible man
as much as I envy your playing , that much of an energy goes right into your admiration, really love your feel, man.... love you brother :)
Lackesse Thanks man!
David Escobar would you rate this as one of the harder solos you've had to learn? ps - friken nailed it, love your videos man!
Heinrich Olivier If I may: Yes this solo is hard as fuck, but not unplayable, even me, I can play it, but maybe not as good as mr. Escobar right here :)
+Lackesse The solo itself is not that hard for any advanced guitar player. The hard part is doing it justice. Every single guitarrist that joined Megadeth after Marty has struggled with this solo. It never sounds as good as the original.
Yeah I know, but still, it requires a good rhythm sense and focus. After playing the solo myself for the umpteenth time, it's very playable and fun, not to say inspiring, too. True about nailing the solo by other members of Megadeth, but personally, I liked what I've seen with Kiko so far. I. Hope their collaboration will be fruitful and long. Can't wait for the new album.
You play so well. Bends and vibrato best Ive heard so far with this solo cover
That was really good!!! I love how you get straight to the point and have the tabs in time with the rhythm.
Increible!!
You're a beast man!
You Nail everyone of that solos. Incredible. My Respect!
That was incredible! Amazing attention to detail and performance.
Fucking fuck..... That's all there is to say...David you are a god, an inspiration..... Would you guys take a look at this dude, because he is fucking amazing!! :D I wish you all the best with your musical career.

Hell man, the dude played the solos live exactly like studio versions, guy is a beast
Like someone up here said, I'll never understand the hate
Guess he didn't fit the looks of the band? Who knows
@@alxdrksoul even Marty cheated that part when he played it live haha. Its almost impossible
Outrageous performance! Well done!
Your vibrato never ceases to amaze me.
literally note for note!!! my jaw just smashed off the floor
greatest guitar solo ever. you can’t change my mind.
Man, I gotta say. I watched kinda a lot of ur videos by now, and they are all literally perfect.. keep the work up my guy, you're legendary !!
I couldn't tell it apart from the original, so I was going to give you my harshest possible judgment. Also I wondered how you got Dave Mustaine to sing along on your backing track. But before I was going to shout "FAKE!" I was going to get proof. So I did a side-by-side comparison and I didn't come up with any. It's spot on but slowly drifts out of sync with the original.
So I reluctantly admit that you must have actually played this. Now I'm jealous and my hat is off to you - even though I don't actually own a hat.
kleinebre Hi thanks for that, I went through how I get the backing tracks in week 43, which was a Q&A session, here it is in case you want to check it out: Solo Of The Week: 43 - Q&A (Gear, backing tracks and tabs)
... is that hard to believe he practiced, learned...and played it? I thought i was bitter ...sir, you are cianide in action. XD .
It's moot 4 years later, but in fact I think there's a slight difference in the arpeggio at 0:35 . I am studying this solo with my teacher and I was using this video as a reference to help me with the fingering and the tab. After 30 minutes listening to the same 3 seconds of the song, I am pretty sure that this recording is slightly different from the tab and both are different from the album's version.
@@Ipporules This solo isn't in most teacher's scopes. Mute sweep into most of the notes in that arp chain and you'll see you get a pretty similar sound.
@@claudiocruzat4624 lmao
Ye know I’ve always admired this solo and I learned the first half and I was thinking “oh my god im doing it” then I got to the second half...
This channel deserves at least 10X more subscribers. No BS, just amazing dedication, quality and execution. Respect to you and thank you for putting in the time
Hands down one of the best versions I've seen. Wow that was flawless man
I would like to see you cover sudden death
FINALLY
No one, and I mean NO ONE has ever played this solo to a 99.9% near perfection to studio version as David Escobar. Perfect video, tabs, sound, speed, technique, visuals, presentation, everything is spot on! There is no other ToS video lesson that will ever come close to this one. HUGE Thank You Mr. Escobar, I finally learned this solo and it would be impossible for me without this video. Impeccable, excellent work!
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!
Holy shit!
It's not that the solo is correct, you _sound_ like Marty... best I've seen around.
+Rodrigo Exactly! He doesn't just play all the notes correctly, he actually plays them like Marty. He emphasizes the same bends and notes and whatever... You could play this perfectly without sounding like Marty, but this guy... Holy shit. What kind of sorcery is this!? I am not kidding when I say he plays it better than Friedman nowadays.
if you enjoy please play the solo of cemetery gates too :))
I've been looking for other cover of this solo. And this is the best cover I've ever seen.
That is by far the best cover of this solo I've ever seen on the internet.
