It DID reach #9 on the album charts. I made this video before I started double checking my information, and I in no way trusted Wiki. I still can't believe I called Mark Knopfler "some session musician" lol. Keep in mind, I'm younger than a lot of you. I still have to research a lot of this, and this was my first video. I do better with lyrical analyses.
I enjoyed your video. As a long-term Steely Dan fan, I still think that Gaucho was the last truly great album from the band. I was going to drop Mark Knopfler's name, but see you've already corrected yourself. In my humble opinion, the two standout tracks on Gaucho are Third World Man and My Rival (pulp fiction lyrics and clever guitar work fron Rick Derringer. ) Thanks for posting!
My dad passed a few months ago, but that video is five years old. When I made it, I told him about my error. He was so disappointed bc Knopfler was one of his very favorite guitar players. I know about the Aja criticisms. I love the album. It's hard, bc it has some great songs. But not "Deacon Blues" lol. Thank you very much for watching!
