    Same as you. Combination of mental, health/fitness, and sometimes being social. I don't run a computer or power metre and don't care about ftp or any other stats. It's just riding for the fun of it.

    Can relate! A video on your Mallorca logistics would be great. How you choose where to stay, how you plan your rides, if you shop for food or eat out, how you ship / fly with your bike. I'd gladly copy paste most of your trip to avoid having to search and investigate online.

    As a synthesist with a software/tech day job, this is ridiculously relatable. I 100% agree, building/upgrading a bike brings the same joy as building a giant modular case and filling it with interesting and unique modules

    For me it's both the fitness and mental side. I get the same from freediving/spearfishing... when 4h pass by without feeling like 4h, something different is happening - flow state/being in the zone. Also a good time to have ideias.

    Great video. As someone who has been working in tech/consulting for >20 years now, and who has had multiple run-ins with burnout, this surely hits home. Cycling has been extremely important for my mental health, and the physical fitness is more of an added benefit than a goal in itself. Bike Therapy is real, and I'm here for it 😉 If you are ever looking to enjoy a chill coffee ride along the rivers in the Netherlands, let me know. Coffee is on me 😉

    This is great. I get so much pleasure from being a cyclist. Choosing the parts for a build then putting them together. Riding the bike and just looking at it. The whole process I find is very meditative. That's why I don't understand those who use a bike as a fitness thing, especially the static ones. A bike is a work of art which takes you to experiences.

    I started cycling/tinkering with bikes in the pandemic. I really needed something to take my mind off things and relax. Started working on my first bike back in '20 and have expanded my stable since then (mostly vintage road bikes). While improving my fitness is a very welcome side effect, I don't do it for performance gains/KOMs nor do i ride for speed. For me it's about seeing new routes and seeing how far I can conceivably ride. To me the randonneuring aspect of cycling is the most appealing.

    the fitness yes, the calming of the thoughts as well, but the freedom! Don't know what about cycling but on a bike feel absolutely free, in the moment, liberated....feel its very important to have an exercise that can totally "exhaust" your body and reset...every ride gives me an opportunity to do this...started cycling with an ex-boss of mine and have never looked back...don't have the amazing roads as you do in Europe but make the best of the routes here...thank you for sharing your story, enjoy your videos quite a bit...dankeschon!

    Wonderful! Thanks for the honesty. Kudos to you.
    I can relate too.
    Quick recomendation.. go back to the gym. 2 days per week, one hour max, do legs one day and core the next. It will not improve your cycling, it will even make you slower, but you will benefit in the long run because you have that skinny build and muscle is very very important for your health, mental and metabolic included.5 grams of creatine and everything will get better i promise, because I know. 😁
    Take care, nice videos, keep going. Cheers!

    • @synsynsy
      @synsynsy 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@klein-concept for legs, no, you need the squat rack and rhe machines in the gym, but for core yes, you ca do it at home. Search for "bob harper ripped core workout", i've done that for years, it is worth it. As you advance things change, but you can get some gear for core training to do at home.

    Wie war denn Radfahren auf Mallorca nun? Das steht auch noch auf meiner "ToDo" Liste :). Mich hat damals der "Gravel"-Trend angesprochen, es auch mal mit einem Rennrad auszuprobieren. Irgendwie bin ich aber seitdem ich das Gravel habe, nur mit GP5000 und Roadlaufrädern auf der Straße unterwegs. Gibt mir irgendwie mehr als irgendwo Offroad lang zu ballern. Straße nervt nur, wenn zu viel Verkehr ist. Ansonsten unterschreibe ich deine Kommentare, ist denke ich für viele von uns ähnlich! Viel Spaß noch auf Malle! Gibt es irgendwo nen Link deine Musikproduktionen mal durchzustöbern? Grüße 👋🏻

      Bei mir ist das ähnlich. Bin selbst mit meinem gravelrad 99 prozent der zeit auf der strasse unterwegs. Offroad ist einfach nicht ganz so meins, obwohl ich die idee immer noch spannend finde. Vielleicht hab ich auch einfach noch nicht die richtigen routen entdeckt.
